Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

My bros and I enjoyed 3 player co-op on Gears 5. There were a few sections that just felt too long, but overall it was super fun. I think I skipped Gears 3 and 4 which made following the story less enjoyable as there were a lot of tie-ins.

I haven't played 3 in years -- I should probably go find a wiki summary of 3 before we start playing 4...

The beginning of 4 does a good job of summarizing 1-3

Then 4 picks up like some time later with a new trilogy story, so I think you're probably OK just diving into 4

I've only played the original GoW, way back in the day. I enjoyed it, but wasn't blown away or anything. Does it get even better with the sequels?

Part of the trouble with 4 was that JD was pretty shallow for a main character. I liked 5 better partly b/c JD had a very limited role. Del and Kait were more interesting to play as.

@Scott original was decent, but I would argue that things improved in, at the very least, 2. 3 wasn't bad and was overall better vs. 1, if maybe not much better compared to 2. Judgement was meh and 4 wasn't a ton better, but I did enjoy 5. 5 starts and ends with 2 more linear sections, with 2 open-world larger areas in the middle 2 sections and that was a nice changeup. Having essentially 4 different sections was nice as they all looked and felt pretty distinct.

I didn't like 1-3 that much. They were kind of a slog and weren't very smooth.

4 & 5 have a great story, gameplay feels much better, Coop campaign is fun as hell.

I enjoyed both 4&5 a lot, definitely the best way to okay is co-op

The original Gears of War is one of my favorite co-op games and probably the game I've beaten the most on Xbox 360 and Gears of War 2 would be right behind it. But despite enjoying those games a whole lot, I never got around to playing anything else in the series. Maybe someday...

Sounds good, I think I'll add them to the ol' to-play list.

The free Matrix/Unreal 5 tech demo mini game for X/S players is really neat and well done. I spent hours walking around the digital world, driving and flying as well. Messing with settings and lights.

Agreed @Simon_Belmont. It's a great tech demo of what the engine is capable of. The visuals are solid, but it really showcases the draw distance, lighting and traffic controls. Should make modern world building so much easier. It'll be interesting to see if this helps speed up development of games or if devs use this to free up time to build even better stuff into the game with the same schedules they've been using.

I wonder if this means that if enough people receive the tech demo well that we will eventually see a new full blown Matrix game. I really liked Enter The Matrix and The Path of Neo back in the day. Those games were fun as heck.

I liked them both but really enjoyed the 2nd one (Path of Neo). Would love another game along those lines, or even that just hitting BC.

Yeah that'd be nice but I don't think we're getting anymore BC games sadly. The last dump a couple weeks back was the last of the Mohicans apparently.

Is it any different then the one on PS5? I probably should download it on the SX also.

I am really impressed with the samsung qn90 TV my dad just bought. I've only tried a few games. But Spyro Reignited and Wolfenstein II, the lighting in the games look incredible on this TV. Even better than my OLED. But I guess that's just TVs improving. My FALD was 3 yo, and my OLED is like 6.

The Mini LED back-lit gen of TVs is going to be great to help improve contrast ratios, HDR, and drive down costs.

I can see the lower costs even after the last 5 years. I mean the top of the line LG C1 was on sale for $1800 for the 65". I still am an OLED lover. But this QLED has really impressed me. I'm glad I don't have to chose. QLED for the living room, OLED for the bedroom.

I didn't realize it was PS5 as well. I guess it's the same.

Selling what? We've talked about lots in this thread. Or do you just mean the XSX and XSS itself?

The XsS, XsX. I tried to search online to see in store inventory and it doesn't show up, so maybe they're trying to avoid scalpers getting it or something.

I see plenty of the Series S, at a local source... They have been getting them pretty regularly... Well considering the PS5 and XSX. I still have yet to see a PS5 in the wild and only seen a XSX 3 or 4 times...

I'm still stuck with my Xbox One. I am considering the Series X since 99% of my Xbox gaming is Game Pass and digital only games.

I'm currently playing through a few Game Pass games. It would be nice to have the suspend creature on the newer consoles instead of sitting through the loading screen every time. I've been playing Halo Infinite, The Gunk, Hades, and Xeno Crisis. I downloaded a few others that I just haven't gotten around to yet. I really want to start Psyconauts 2 soon and Bug Fables. There's too much to play.

I'll be honest, I've had pretty consistent issues with the Quick Resume feature. It's insanely amazing but sometimes I won't have sound, or will experience more bugs when using it. But when it works it's fantastic.

I still mostly just shut down games when I'm done. The load times on the XSX and XSS are pretty darn quick...it's nothing like the X1. But I agree that if you're still playing an X1 the XSS would be a great fit for you.

I don't think I ever had a suspend issue, but I'm playing mostly Game Pass games and I tend to not use Quick Resume because it caps download speeds.

Better than PS5 I guess, there you get the same thing as you had on PS4; video app can be suspended, game can be suspended, but just one and that's it.

Got my Series X yesterday which is a week earlier than Walmart gave me originally. I didn't realize how massive it was until I tried to figure out how it was going to fit in with my gaming setup. Coming from a One X, I'm really blown away by the graphical upgrades - Halo Infinite looks great

I keep going back and forth. Exclusives. But quick resume. But controller. But game pass.

PS5 is better than I gave it credit for, but Xbox series x is awful compelling especially considering it seems to last a.few seconds longer than PS5.

Well I tried the xbox live gold to gamepass ultimate 1:1 conversion and it worked. I was nervous but I'm happy I did it now. I have the 1 month "trail" even though I've had the $1 trail 2 times before. Bought the code at best buy. Went to xbox store to redeem gold. Then went in to gamepass, selected a game, and selected activate ultimate. And it worked. 1 year 1 month for $60.

I'm pretty happy. I've got a new xbox series X. A bunch of games from black friday. And now, a whole year to play halo infinite, forza horizon 5, psychonauts 2, DiRT 5, control, the ascent, quantum break, and a few others. Worth the $60 for several games, and more to come in the next year!

KK. After playing FH5 for about a half hour. I'm not feeling it. The control of the cars just doesn't feel good. Too floaty, as if there is just no road under you. WRC8 had better driving. So I'll probably move on to my insanely large play list.

Guardians of the Galaxy leaves a great first impression.

So is the triple back (all 3 games in a single bundle), import only?

REALLY loving DiRT 5. I'll probably beat the career while it's on gamepass. I'm really digging it. It nailed the arcade driving perfectly. It reminds me of one of my favorite dirt racing games, RalliSport Challenge 2 on OG xbox.

I like the WRC games better than Dirt Rally. But I'm really loving the arcade style dirt game from Codemasters.
