Surprised we don't have anything going on this topic. See if it goes anywhere, but I came here to ask for support on the Oculus/Quest.
Family got me a Quest 2 for my bday. I've been holding out for the next release and/or PSVR2, but eh, I'll take it!
Suggestions for best games to play on it?
I picked up a few accessories too:
- Strap with Battery and Carrying Case -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...- Fat Sweaty Man Visor -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...Any others I should be looking at?
Thanks!

10-Jun-2022(#3)I don't have a Quest 2, but Beat Saber, Super Hot, and Pistol Whip

10-Jun-2022(#4)My fam got me a Quest 2 for my bday (just recently) as well haha. I don't have a PC so I can't play some of the PC Link stuff like Half Life or the Lone Echoes that I wish I could.
So far I've liked:
Red Matter (super chill, no enemies, great starter game)
Synth Riders (more forgiving than beat saber)
Youtube VR - loads of stuff flying over major cities (pyramids of egypt, paris, petra, etc.)
Tentacular
I loved Astrobot on PS and unfortunately there aren't many platformers like that. I'm prob going to try Lucky's Tale and/or Ven VR Adventures next ($20 each).
Pistol Whip and The Room VR ($30 each) are on my list but I'm waiting on sales for those.

10-Jun-2022(#5)I'm interested in opinions on the elite strap and battery. So far I'm not playing for more than 2 hours but I hear the strap is more comfortable. And not being capped at 2 hours or whatever would be nice.

My brother has it and I've used his, it definitely seems worth it.

Alyx is only on Vive right?

You can hook up the Quest to a computer. It allows you to run games from the computer video card, as well as shows on screen what you are looking at.

You can even run it over your wifi if it's fast enough.

11-Jun-2022(#15)I second Accounting+. It’s super weird but really interesting. If you get it, do all of the achievements, because there is some cool additional content that you only get by figuring out a few secrets.

Biggest hint: Plant the seed!

12-Jun-2022(#21)I have a Quest 1. I'm really liking Walkabout Mini Golf. It gives you 8 themed courses that are great. When you make par on a course, you unlock a pretty wicked hard mode for that course. There are also 4 extra courses you can buy.
Job Simulator, FX pinball, and Moss are also great games.

12-Jun-2022(#22)Download Aircar for free from Steam. Epic experience flying a car like a Blade Runner vehicle. It's only 1 city map, but there is a point. It's a great sense of immersion.
Star Wars Squadrons is good too. As well as Alien Isolation with the VR mod
In-game on wifi and it works great.

22-Jun-2022(#29)@MrBean This is the deepest sale I've seen yet. Every day there is 1 item that gets discounted but it's usually just a couple bucks and so far nothing of interest. This is definitely a noteworthy sale although at most you might save $10 on something. But this is literally the only place you can buy the games.
Star Wars Galaxy Edge is a great example of what the Quest 2 can do. It's normally $25 + $10 for a DLC. All of it together is $25 right now and I hear with the DLC it's a good 7-8 hours of gameplay. I'm only a couple hours in but so far this is the best experience I've had on the Oculus.
https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/112320777...The music genre is ideal for VR, you may want to consider grabbing either of these, both are great but different:
Synth Riders $16.99 (normally $25)
Pistol Whip $20.99 (normally $30)
You can try a demo of Synth Riders if you want to sample it first (that's what I did):

If you enjoy synth riders and beat saber you have to try Audica. It’s from the creators of rock band and it’s one of my favorite VR experiences

23-Jun-2022(#32)That's a solid list. I don't know that I could recommend anything else besides The Room VR or I Want You To Die. I haven't played them but hear great things. Oh, Moss is $20 if you never played it on PSVR. Moss 2 comes to Quest in July I think.
Red Matter was the first thing I bought. It's super chill (no enemies or weapons) and a good first experience but now that I've played other stuff it's a bit dull in comparison. Definitely wait for a sale on it.

* 6-Jul-2022(#34)I've heard Vader is really short (all 3 episodes) but the 3rd one is best. I never tried it though. The Tales from the Galaxy one is pretty good so far though.
Also, not sure if you're aware of the non-Oculus store stuff. But there's this:
https://sidequestvr.com/apps/applab/1/ratingSome of these require some extra steps on a PC, but others install just like normal. They're on the regular store, just not browsable. So that site gives a direct link to the store where you can DL the game.
Pavlov's Shack is highly recommended although I haven't booted it up yet:

12-Jul-2022(#36)I just sold a butt-load of pricey games to a local guy and now have enough for an Oculus/Meta Quest 2 and some accessories. I think I'm finally ready to take the plunge. Here is what I'm considering buying so far:
- 256 GB system
- Elite Strap with battery
- case
- lens protector
Am I missing something? Also, is there a case that any of you would recommend?
citizen_zane
12-Jul-2022(#39)I'll take that into consideration.

* 12-Jul-2022(#40)Agree that 128GB is plenty of space.
And be sure to use a referral code when activating the device. If you use that referal link you'll get a $30 credit for use in the store, and the referrer will also get $30 credit!
I had a referral but got mine all setup before realizing it's not a code you can enter at some point.
You can't apply this afterwards so I lost out on the $30. You have to go through the referral link before activating a device but absolutely do that. Everyone can generate their referral link for you, but of course I'm happy to.

The BOBOVR strap and battery is better than the elite, and cheaper
