Matilda is the star for me. Always has been since the OG, but it does burn ammo. In NG+, best to leave the stock off except for boss fights (El Gigante, Village Chief, et al) and you can conserve ammo for when it's needed. The Ammo crafting charm helps (the one you get from the preorder bonus stuff). Sadly, I don't think the Gold Case makes much difference in the drop rate of PSTA's in the early game. I managed to get the Rhino Beetle charm, which has been a godsend in NG+, since with max health the R+G+Y healing items are worth a cool 20k each on Standard difficulty.
