Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

10-Nov-2022(#85)Did the first puzzle in Scorn. Incredibly stupid and annoying for no real reason. We'll see if it gets better or worse.

10-Nov-2022(#86)Started playing Persona 5 Royal on Game Pass and I've been pleasantly surprised how much I'm liking it. Usually JRPGs aren't my thing, but I'm really getting into it.

i was thinking about it because EVERYONE talks about those games. I can't get into JRPG's save for like FF Tactics, Ogre Battle and some of the older FF games.
I'm trying to finish Death Loop so i can clear hard drive space, because I'm sure COD MWII will be on sale on Black Friday-ish. I haven't paid full price for a COD game...ever. I don't think I ever will.

Its fun to watch someone play it.
That's about it though.
It's INCREDIBLY visual.

10-Nov-2022(#90)Scorn is not that great. Once I beat a puzzle I say "that was dumb" and move on. I'm at 2-2, I think.

Yeah I went into this game with apparently really high expectations, and after my first session, I haven't even tried to play it again. It LOOKS nice on my 3090, but it hasn't pulled me in at all.

* 12-Nov-2022(#93)Scorn tips:
Once you get Weapon 2 and use the Station with all the weird Orbs, you need to reload (X) In order to use Weapon 2.... Yeah. I got pretty far in Act III thinking Weapon 2 did nothing. It's like a small shotgun and Weapon 3 is a bigger shotgun.
I'm in Act 5 so this is the last one... I have some opinions on this game, boy howdy.

13-Nov-2022(#95)Scorn - Do not play this unless you want to give it a shot. When you complete a Puzzle your response to beating it is more so "Well, that was dumb/annoying" and not "Wow! Great puzzle!" Puzzles are "brute force" with no clue what to do other than figure it out.
The game gives you no hints about anything. There is no lore, story, or anything. "Lore" implies there are documents to read or things to interact with. Nothing here. All you do is wander from place to place, pulling levers or finding dead ends and running away from the awful enemies. Apologists could argue "Well, your character has no idea what's going on, so you shouldn't either!" Even in the From Software games there are tutorials. Nothing here. Need to figure out what a button does? Pause menu. There is a "healing" station and an "ammo" station. In order to even use Weapon 2 (which looks like a pistol) you have to hit "X" to reload it in the first place after getting ammo. I got to 3-2 before realizing this. I did beat the entire game with no guide, but it gave no real satisfaction. The combat is awful and should be avoided at all costs and the only Boss is a Two-Phase boss and you can run out of ammo for it. Honestly, the combat made me quite angry with how bad it is. Like the whole game. Even the aesthetic isn't really that interesting as it's just a stolen art style. I can't imagine how anyone could like this game unless you also consume the smell of your own farts. Maybe Kojima fanboys might like this "art" garbage but that's about it.
I think I'm the only one here who's beat this, it seems?

13-Nov-2022(#96)Probably gonna play A Plague Tale Requiem next on GamePass while doing Ragnarok on PS5

So people like this game and haven't beat it? It's not that hard.
Anxiouz
14-Nov-2022(#103)I think unanimously people like the style but get bored and put it down. People are "speed" running this in 90 minutes and to think about the literal hours I spent wandering aimlessly for just the first half of the game...no thank you. I didn't find the wandering fun.

14-Nov-2022(#104)Started Vampire Survivors today. Thought it was gonna be dumb, 2 hours later, it's not dumb. It's a very basic rogue-lite but it's extremely addictive. The music and graphics are right out of late NES Era castlevania. Super stoked to unlock all the characters.
Also, The Legend of Tianding is great. Reminds me of Comix Zone on Genesis. Very polished with extremely fun combat and platforming. The fact that it's based in Chinese folklore is also great.
Has anybody tried Signalis? It's supposed to be a super old school survival horror game with retro graphics.

15-Nov-2022(#105)It's fun to watch the console kiddos get in on Vamp Survivors. I heard the guy who made it used to work with slot machines; I'd like to think this is sort of his gift back to humanity. Pay $5 once, you get all the dopamine

Sounds like he was talking about RTS, and Spice Wars sounds like an RTS. Is that a newer Dune RTS game? I'm guessing it is.

17-Nov-2022(#113)Spice Wars is still technically early access, not sure how far along it is. It's gone on "sale" a couple times at this point.

I recommend Archvale, I beat it a while back, fun title.
I've been meaning to play Mortal Shell, can anyone speak to it, is it good, it's a dark souls clone of sorts, correct?
Also, @Simon_Belmont I tried NORCO on the PC and it was just okay, only did like 1 session and haven't gone back to it.

Yes, I enjoyed it. One of the rare clone like Souls that I liked. Thymesia is another one. Gotta get to Steelrising at some point.
Mortal Shell isn't too long either

You can pretty much just play Alpha Centauri off GoG (I'm assuming they sell it) and you'll get the Dune Civilization experience, space worms and all, but that's turn based obviously

17-Nov-2022(#120)Spice Wars is coming to GPU this month, that's why I brought it up. I posted an article with all the stuff that just got announced for GPU.
The Black Friday sale on the Xbox store is pretty good...I just have everything that's on sale.
The Fallout 4 GOTY for $10 and the RE2/RE3 for $15 are must purchases for those that don't have them.
Might pull the trigger on Evil Dead but Gamestop has it for $20 new.
I have so many games to finish, took a break and I'm working on Hard West now. It's so good but it's super frustrating.
