It's definitely on my radar. I'm leery though. It hasn't convinced me that it's a day one-er. I'll wait for the reviews and maybe even a quick price drop before Christmas.

2-Dec-2022(#89)Horror games are a mixed bag for some people. The Evil Within has about the same rating.

I agree.
I am also OK if people review with a disclaimer. Starting with "I'm not a horror game fan, so this review is from that perspective".
Just don't get your scores listed on metacritic if you do that

I recently got this headset too. From what I know this uses 2.4GHz to connect so if your wifi or other electronics are using that frequency nearby maybe it's causing problems. Maybe try switching to 5GHz for other things to lighten the load on the 2.4GHz frequency? Might be worth a shot.

2-Dec-2022(#101)My copy of Marvel: Midnight Suns is “back ordered” even though I pre-ordered it months ago from Target. (They consistently do this, but I keep going back for the B2G1 deals). So, I picked up The Callisto Protocol for free with points I had saved up from GameStop on the way to work. I’m gonna give it a shot later tonight.

3-Dec-2022(#102)I’m on the second chapter of The Callisto Protocol. Early thoughts:
-The graphics are fantastic. It really looks next-gen.
-The gore took me by surprise.
-The story hooked me right away. It’s not terribly original, but it builds the tension well.
-So far, it doesn’t seem like I can run, which is annoying. Movement feels a bit stiff walking.
-The combat is OK, but I wish there was a dodge/roll button. The hold left or right to dodge thing isn’t very intuitive yet.
-I was still downloading the update, but, unpatched, this crashed on me twice.

Been rummaging around to see if I have a cord but that’s my next plan. I completely rebooted and reverted the system back to its out of the box settings and thought it fixed it but 10 min later it dropped and same issues started again.

* 6-Dec-2022(#109)My PS5 will sometimes show the "no internet connection" popup but when I go check I'm always still connected. So it seems like just a blip. Probably happens 2-3 times a month, so not a big deal but I don't have this issue on the XSX which is in the same location.

For the flicker when you start up a game, do you have video settings in your PS5 for HDR set to "on when supported"? Mine used to do that when I'd start up a game that didn't use HDR.
As for the flicker while you're playing a game, I've had mine do that a few times. I don't know what causes it but it hasn't done it in a few weeks.

Ive had this happen 1 or 2 times.

I believe I might have. Going back to default on all settings has helped. I also got my new router yesterday and was able to play with no issues last night. Hopefully it stays that way.

9-Dec-2022(#119)Maybe for one last test try running a test with a laptop in those 2 PS5 locations and see if there is any difference. If there is then it sounds like interference (hell, maybe even the TV itself).

13-Dec-2022(#120)PlayStation's 2022 wrap up.
https://wrapup.playstation.com/imageAs I say every year, that 107 hours is way inflated because I leave my consoles paused for extended periods of time if I'm busy. My actual save file in the game is at just under 52 hours.
