In the movie, this race freed a slave boy from his bonds. Here, that boy is playable, but his unlockable opponents are much better characters.

Well done, @nonamesleft! It is from the Mega Man franchise. Though, since it's an import-only slash title, I guess it's technically from the Rockman series. It's the weirdest hybrid of an anime FMV with chose-your-own-adventure quicktime events and a gallery-style FPS for the enemy hordes and robot masters. I imported it back in the day and had a blast, despite not knowing a bit of Japanese, which is heavily utilized in this title. I definitely don't think it gets much love nowadays, considering I don't hear anyone talking about it.
