new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is brand:::PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

This is the actual worst. I try to find a box for anything over $40. It's not like it even really adds to the shipping cost.

Back when I was buying them, people would ship CIB NES boxes in bubble mailers fairly regularly. Alarming, but everything came in okay so whatever.

ya its really not horrible, but i feel like if i buy a new item i should get a new item, what a concept right lol.

if they will offer that then that would be awesome, i'll have to hit them up about that

@tonymack21 Yeah I feel where you are coming from and it would be nice if they would just use boxes to ship. To get offered the % off you have to message them about the issue instead of just processing the exchange.

cool ill check into it that, they have these weird fold in boxes that dont use tape that i have gotten some things in from them if they would even use those it would be an improvement. probably for the money on their end its cheaper to just discount the people who ask for it as most probably dont

Gypsy

No doubt they love to do the discount because at the end of the day it's much cheaper for them than multiple exchanges. Esp if you have prime and they gotta 2-day it..

I had a much smaller Saturn controller I believe. This one looks much better. The only thing just from looking at it is that the dpad looks a little sunken in, do you ever have any problems with that or does it still stick out far enough for you?

Since we were discussing shipping today, I received an Amiibo from BB today literally stuffed into a small bubble mailer. Good thing I got this knowing I would be opening/using it.

I waiting to get all of the Zelda Amiibo before I start to play BOTW. I'll probably start after the new Amiibo get released next month. I haven't read about the game in fear of spoilers, are those new Amiibo characters in the main game or the DLC?

All this saturn talk reminds me of when I had a chance to buy one. It was about the time the original XBOX came out. A friend wanted to sell me his saturn and all games for $20. I don't remember what the games were, there were like 5 disc only games. I rode my bike around to several stores and blockbuster around the city to see if I could still find games for it. I couldn't find any so I chose to pass on buying it.

For 20 bucks? It could have been a gameboy with five random games and I would have bought it as long as it worked.

I did eventually trade my Saturn for some n64 games here because I was basically poor enough to realize I wasn't getting a decent copy of shining force 3 back then any time soon. It's a system I will eventually get again I'm sure as long as my life doesn't fall apart before then. Or if I get into another lopsided relationship I could see it not being any kind of a mutual priority too.

The 4 amiibo being released later are of legendary heroes in the BotW story, and give bonus equipment when used.

By the way, we should start listing some options for November, maybe a SNES game? Though there's a particular NES game we all need to beat together along with @sharif

Well since we picked a bad game last time, let's do Super Mario World this time.

If we are picking a game from SNESC, I vote Mega Man X.

Since I found my Saturn controller. I hooked up my Saturn to my PVM and made a short video.

I'm down. I'd even live stream it, should be able to take it down in ...hour and fifteen, hour and a half for a 100% run?

You'll need a medium I'm betting, Standard Box A should also easily fit it. Try to find a more fitting box though, it'll bring down the shipping cost substantially

It was under $8 for me to ship it to you. Maaaaybe if it's going all the way across the country a flat rate would be an okay option.

Happening across the country sadly.

It's hilarious, because across the country I can see the demand is obviously dropping as customers who wanted one are getting one. The prices have been steadily tanking all month, went from $215 to $140 within the span of 3 weeks already. These chickens stockpiling the crap are going to end up dropping them for less than MSRP eventually, the profit margins for these have already dropped to what... $35 at best, and shrinking every day.

Can we allow Donald into SS? He's a mystery box fanatic, you know he'd join up.

Pretty sure @Gypsy is referring to the Japanese brand:::Sega Dreamcast he received from Double D for a Snes classic. Still not a shabby gift in my book, I would be happy with it.

Nice of them not to put a sticker on that rare gem.

Don't worry, they only put stickers directly on carts with labels, on the label. And I'm not even crapting you. I've had a guy try to peel one off until he finally said "Dude, I'm sorry, can I just knock $15 off the label price and leave it on?"

Nice! (Well unless you wanted a nice perfect cart) what game did you get 15 dollars off of?
