Woman Explorer Ray: 2 episode OAV of a more or less one-off manga which is about a female Indiana Jones. Animation quality dips in the 2nd episode. Nothing ground breaking obviously but okay to watch. Episode 2 is a direct continuation of the same story and does conclude.
Iczer 3: 6 episode sequel to the original Iczer. This time a loli must defend earth against the forces of evil Neos Gold. No kind of plot depth whatsoever of course but I struggled to find the "significant" objectionable content according to ann.
Phantom Quest Corp: Higher cut OAV in terms of animation quality compared to the previous 2. Madhouse and Pioneer were involved so that makes sense. Doesn't have much of a chance to go anywhere as it is just 4 episodes but it was fun enough. First episode was probably the weakest. The lipstick lightsaber is the dumbest thing in the show.
You're Under Arrest: Just a fun slice of life anime. Now that I've watched the OAV I will get to work on season 2/3 of the tv series that I grabbed on DVD awhile back.
Vampire Princess Miyu (OAV)
4 episode horror OAV about a vampire girl that hunts down stray demons. The reasoning of which is fully revealed in the 4th episode. Does a pretty good job building intrigue. Being 4 episodes I wasn't surprised that there were a couple threads left undeveloped, I wonder if the tv series goes a little more in depth. One would think it should given that it is 26 episodes but this is anime we are talking about so it might just be a ton of filler and more monster of the week type stuff. The characters are fairly interesting and Miyu isn't really super evil or a white knight. What pleasantly surprised me is that this was an OAV from the late 80s and neither female lead was sexualized. The show has a creepy vibe going on and isn't looking for jump scares and such. Overall a solid watch.
Non-Nazi robots take on Nazi Robots + aliens. Also children are involved. As absurd as it sounds but honestly not terrible. People that get upset by swastikas should stay away as there are a lot in this anime.
Bounty Dog OAV
Even CPM/Manga knew this was bad. Enough said... But seriously this is legit one of the worst anime ever made, don't watch it.

Been watching a lot of old stuff. Getting LD is great for my viewing because I pretty much have to sit through and watch them to verify the condition is good. Though it's terrible for my gaming, I haven't played anything in probably close to a month now.
Got more coming in today that I will be watching tonight.
finished up the persona 5 anime, its good if you liked the game, but don't watch if you haven't played the game, its the games story after all, so there would be all the spoilers.
caught up to current on boruto this weekend, not as good as the original yet but it has some moments, and its foreshadowing some big things, its keeping me interested.
had watched about the first 50 eps of fairy tail in the past, so picked up after that (just after the Laxus arc).
have quite a few in my crunchyroll queue and other stuff I want to watch... ancient magus' bride, my hero academia, GoLion (interested to see how it differs from my childlood Voltron), Fist of the North Star, a rewatch of Code Geass (its been years, since it was on AS), domestic girlfriend, akame ga kill, Rosario vampire etc..
its hard because the only way to watch is to cut seriously into my game time. and that's a long list too, so I usually just go back and forth, play a few games then just binge a whole show.
I don't generally watch stuff as it airs anymore (shoutout to Death Magus Bride as a recent stand out) but Carole and Tuesday is fantastic so far. Watanabe + Bones so I have extremely high expectations and it is meeting them.
I've really enjoyed the isekai anime that I've watched (I think that's what it's called, the genre where the main character is sent to another world). Does anybody have any good suggestions for other dubbed series I may not know about? I've seen log horizon (the best), SAO, GATE, Re:Zero, in another world with my smartphone, how not to summon a demon lord, and a few others I can't recall right now.
I recently got a free month of Crunchyroll from Twitch, and I've really enjoyed Rising of the Shield Hero. Also, it's taken me a while for it to grow on me, but Mob Psycho 100 2 is really picking up the pace!
i dont mind those if the quality is high, but i loved naruto and i know some dont, which i'll never understand. and i like fairy tail and one piece etc, they can be daunting though.
how is chain chronicle: the light of haeccitus? my brother is claiming its far and away the best show hes ever seen. he doesnt particularly like japanese things or a lot of anime though, so for him to like it is either real good or different.

I loved Naruto, especially shippuden. I skipped as much filler as possible, and feel like the show was cohesive, and rich in characters and progression -- not something every show has. Not even Dragonball Z, IMO.
I used to really enjoy DBZ...in middle school. But, I feel like it deserves a lot of credit for paving the way for shows like Naruto, Bleach, etc. I watched a bit of Kai not so long ago, and I feel like it can still be enjoyed as a condensed show. IMO, I think the Buu saga was not enjoyable, and it kind of fizzled. Naruto was consistently good throughout.
naruto was super all the way, i could have happily watched another 700 episodes if they were of that quality. such a deep narrative and characters were so memorable and when some of them died it hurt, and quite a few other emotional moments throughout. very impactful and not many shows can do that. if you are gonna watch DBZ these days its gotta be Kai for sure, but its not very watchable really. after cell i thought it fell way off as well. it was very important, it did end up paving the way for anime get a lot more mainstream. its like shenmue... its not good, but its historically important.
YYH is really good too, when my son was like ok ive watched X shows in the last few days what should i watch next, i started going down some of the essentials everyone should see, FMA, cowboy bebop, code geass, and did include YYH in there along with a few others. so good.
caught up to current on boruto and attack on titan yesterday, AoT season 3 was definitely super good. was hoping to have enough time to start on the Baki Netflix series as well, a couple of my anime friends at work have been trying to get me to watch it. has anyone seen it? is it a remake or a sequel to baki the grappler? or unrelated?
this Baki series on netflix is ...weird, but damn its good. i cant stop watching it. its an adaption of one of the story arcs from the second manga series, so its like its starting in the middle of the overall story but im digging it.
