Looks like there is a new one-stop site for all your digital movies.

MoviesAnywhere.com will be replacing DisneyMoviesAnywhere.com, and also allows you to link your iTunes, Amazon, and Vudu accounts, so that all your digital movies from these services are visible and streaming from one site.

They have a promo going right now to get you to link accounts. Linking one account will get you free copies of Ghostbusters (2016) and Ice Age. Linking another will get you Big Hero Six, Jason Bourne, and The LEGO Movie.

However, this site just launched, and seems to have some growing pains. They have a banner up right now that VUDU linking is disabled, and I was unable to get Amazon to work either. The error indicated a time out. However, I figure these issues are temporary, and free movies are always a good thing.

Note that the site seems legit. There was a write-up on Ars Technica about it, and more importantly, if you go to DisneyMoviesAnywhere, they have a banner up indicating that site is going away soon, and you should migrate your collections to this new site. Signing up for an account on MoviesAnywhere.com with my DMA e-mail automatically migrated my Disney collection over.

Amazon just worked for me too, so the wrinkles seem to be getting ironed out.

I just linked all my accounts. I had to add Amazon first in order to get the others to work.

Vudu could do UltraViolet and Disney.

This new site seems to be adopting Disney's tech. It's actually provided by the company that developed the DMA platform, and uses the same KeyChest technology. I'm sort of wondering if this is the beginning of the end of Ultravolet, as the Ars Techica article mentioned that the KeyChest tech is seen as being superior to what UV did.

Their redeem page says they can redeem codes right on their site for several of the major studios, so there must be some nice cross-connectivity between them, Disney, UV, WB, Sony, etc.

I got all four connected now, but there is a note up that it takes up to an hour to sync everything up. My guess is they're getting hammered thanks to the promise of free movies. Looks like my iTunes, Disney, and Amazon movies are showing, but not UV/Vudu yet.

Found some weaknesses in this.

- Not all of the studios have signed up already, Notably, Paramount and Lionsgate are not on board. That means those titles will not carry over (yet?) Look for deals to be cut if this proves at all popular.
- No TV shows. Not sure how many of you have TV shows digitally, but I have a few, and none of them carried over, even ones like Big Bang Theory that are from participating studios
- Syncing accounts took an hour. I'm betting this is due to to server load, and will improve.
- The app lets you sort your movie lists by date or alphabetically. The web site does not. I'm betting this will be fixed.

I already have all of those movies on Vudu, so I'll wait to sign up to see if they offer any other incentives down the line, maybe some better titles.

As long as Disney and other studios films stay available on Vudu, I'll be happy. I own almost 1700 titles on Vudu and like my digital library all on one streaming service on my Roku. It's why I refuse to use iTunes.

Thanks, I'll check this out. I don't even remember all of the places I've redeemed movies so I'd love to consolidate.

I read about this earlier. GameSpot points out some of the potential privacy issues:

Just food for thought for people.

That data is probably already being sold by DMA, Vudu, UV, Amazon, iTunes, Google, etc. You're just allowing them to aggregate it all instead of forcing the data buyers to deal with multiple sites. Same difference in the end.

I almost did this, I logged in with my google account but at the part when google asked me if I wanted to let them manage my google play movies/shows, I chickened out and clicked cancel. Now I wish I hadn't logged in at all because I feel like I had sullied my account a bit by logging in and giving them permission to share my info. But anyway my google account is too important, it's my main account and on top of that I use it on my phone, so I don't feel comfortable giving some random site even the slightest bit control of it. I just wanted to watch Ghostbusters but only barely.

By the way, I was trying to find the article OP mentioned, and came across this:

That is really fudging cool. Want one so bad. Dat price tho.

I had the three kids movies already, but I was thinking about picking up GB sometime and haven't seen Bourne yet. Linking all my accounts was super easy and redeeming movies on the site is really fast.

One thing to note if you have a Roku and are used to going to your UV library on the main screen (Fandango Now)... it's gone. So you'll need to access through Amazon or Vudu.

It's built in when you create the MA account. If it doesn't get your DMA movies, maybe you didn't use the same e-mail?

There apparentlty is another way. See here:

It's not a random site. Its owned and operated by Disney and replaces their DMA service.

What Brian said. This is not some random site looking to phish your account info. It's run by Disney and their partner from DMA, and co-run by the major movie studios. It's basically the latest centralized platform, intended to replace DMA and UV, eventually.

If I move my stuff over, will my vudu and Dma connected in vudu still work? We have a multi family share of vudu with over 2k movies and I don't want to do anything to mess that up. I am interested in staying up with the latest tech though and if this is a move I need to jump on it.

I know, thank god, but I still regret it just a little even if it's Disney. I got a notification on my pnone saying someone access my account on another device. Yuck.

Your DMA account?

Either way, signing up (or not) for a service did not trigger that notification.

I just noticed I was signed in on my Chrome browser on PC, so I guess that was the reason.

For what it's worth, I kept getting an error when I tried to link my DMA account, but shortly afterwards everything showed up even with continuously receiving the error.

so far I think its a step in the right direction with linking to all major services but at the end of the day there is still a ton of bs involved with this movies rights and those movies rights

you sell something to a consumer then you put restrictions on things wtf ?

but at least this got apple to hurt the other retailers by dropping prices especially with UHD something I would not have imagined
