nice, most of them are pretty solid, for FE6 on GBA and FE12 on DS you'll have to emulate as those never came out in the west. FE6 actually comes after FE7 chronologically, its about Eliwood and Hector's kids time, and FE12 comes after Shadow Dragon and is a remake of FE3 book 2 with an avatar inserted.
ah do you know japanese? i really want to learn it one day but i dont think i'll ever have the time to learn to read it too, id just like to speak and understand it when others speak it. you should be able to find a copy of FE12 with the translated rom on ebay but sometimes they only work in DS i think, but may work in 3ds too if you want the englsh, and of course there always emulation for the never released here ones, they all run pretty well in their respective emu's.
ya awakening is pretty fun to play, Robin is the broken unit in all of fire emblem. alot of the old FE community kinda hated on it when it came out but really it saved the franchise. FE11/Shadow Dragon did so poorly we didnt even get FE12/New Mystery of the Emblem outside japan and the series was in real trouble. The DS games almost killed the series.
Unfortunately I don't, but I bought a USB device that lets me backup DS games so I'll be able to patch it. Have you played any of the unlocalized ones? I'm looking at maybe buying the SFC versions at some point in the future.
ya ive played FE6 The Binding Blade and part of FE4 Genology of the Holy War... FE5 Thracia 776 (which takes place during the year before FE4 Generation 2 begins) and FE6 feel like work to play, they tend to rate lower in the series overall. FE4 is amazing, if that had been released in america it could have been up there with chrono trigger and ff6 as far as snes rpgs go. the FE community is dying for a Geneology remake but its unlikely due to its themes and content, at least not without some changes (possible to do incest pairings and the child hunts and stuff). three houses borrows heavily from it so that may be as close as we get. i havent played alot of FE3 yet, which is just a remake of 1 with the book 2 add on that FE12 is a remake of, with fe11/shadow dragon being a remake of FE3 book 1, its not actually a remake of FE1 as is sometimes assumed. FE15/echoes is a remake of FE2/Fire Emblem Gaiden and i havent played much of the original FE2.
i have seen carts out there with the roms for FE6. there is a new version out there, Project Ember, that is a much improved rework of the game I want to check out at some point.
FE7 and FE8/Sacred Stones were released here so they should be no problem to find. FE7 as you probablky know is the GBA game just called "fire emblem", since it was the first one we got here. Its since become known as Fire Emblem The Blazing Blade
Honestly, I figured they would've been relatively cheap. I can hold out though. I got lucky with finding most of the Dragon Quest games for cheap so hopefully I can find these for a good price as well.
> Well I went on a spending spree and bought all of the SFC Fire Emblem games along
> with FE6. Now I'm just missing Sacred Stones!
Did you buy Japanese carts or repros with English roms? Definitely recomend the project naga translation for FE4 and the Little Manster for FE5 some big improvements over the old ones and some QoL stuff for FE5
