I sold something to a guy December 9 2017, He barely sends a item Now (post date on the label Feb 6) i get it Feb 9 and he says it doesn't work, Hes trying to get pissy with me by threatening to leave a negative, Is that still even possible? He has had the item for a long time.

It was a gameboy DMG model he claimed it didnt work, I put 1 game and it boot up just fine even now once i got it back.

First time i ran across this issue.

He can leave a negative feedback up to 90 days. After 90 days he can no longer leave any feedback. So yes he can leave negative feedback however if he did I would say call Ebay and appeal it. I would have also sent a photo of the Gameboy working so the buyer knows you are telling the truth. This message to him will give Ebay evidence that your telling the truth.

I am viewing both my buying and selling transactions that I haven't left feedback yet for back in November and I am able to leave feedback. Ebay policy states 60 days so there is a chance he can still leave feedback. Goes back to my original comment of if he leaves negative just call Ebay. You get buyers who have attitudes. He may not reply to you and decided to drop it which is what you would want.

ah ok i appreciate that, I ended up sending a message to ebay support asking what they would advise and explained the whole situation with images -_-' its annoying the kind of bs some buyers think they can get away with

Appreciate the help!

I had a guy file a chargeback on the 59th day. Paypal eventually sided with the buyer, even though we both had already left positive feedback. However, I could not find where they took the $ back out of my account. Very weird.

On (rare) occasion, paypal will simply eat the loss itself. Of course, if the item involved costs $100+, that's very unlikely to happen. ;)

What is the buyer asking for? You have the item, correct? I would issue a refund and be done with it.

A lot of people complain about eBay as a seller, and while I have had a few negative experiences, most of the time eBay has sided with me as the seller.

If you have an email where the buyer explicitly says they will leave negative feedback if you don't do some sort of action, call up eBay and explain the situation and claim it is feedback extortion. They will remove the buyers right to leave feedback.(or remove negative feedback if left by the buyer) If the buyer opens a case I think you technically still need to take the return, but they can't leave feedback.

I think OP was the seller, although the way he told the story it seems to flip back and forth between him being the seller and the buyer lol

Yes, as a seller on eBay, my policy is to always just take the item back and issue a refund. It's just not worth the hassle of trying to deal with flaky buyers. At least if you have the item in hand you're only out a little bit of time, plus shipping costs.

The Problem is he sent the item months after I told him to , but either way its been resolved I contacted eBay hes unable to leave a negative, i did send him a small refund regardless because he took so long to send it back (plus i relisted it and sold it the same day and other buyer of the gameboy was satisfied) , overall its done with just was frustrating.

lol I can see why , it did sound kind of confusing when i went back and read it lol but bonanza125 help resolve it so I didnt look into it further i almost forgot i opened this thread sorry all
