FUDGE yeah.

I also assume this means that the most recent reports of...

...John Krasinski being cast as Reed Richards...

...are legit.

I would never assume anything is legit till we see the movie. Even though that is definitely the voice we think it is, there is nothing to indicate he is playing who we hope it is.

Unless you...

...take into account all the apparent "on set" leak reports we've heard that sorta confirm that this scene features him + the Illuminati. Wouldn't be surprised to see Patrick, Krasinski and Cruise in the parts reported on after that tiny bit of footage... it just fits the reports perfectly.

There have been plenty of reports in the past that made "assuming" a worthwhile trend, for better or for worse haha

Though I agree, obv nothing is set in stone until the movie itself is released. Won't get my hopes up until I see it.

Wanda is totally the big bad for Doctor Strange 2, or at least one of them. Everything in that trailer makes me feel like she's going to be an antagonistic presence whether she means to be or not.

Wanda has a history from the comics of meaning well only to end up making things devastatingly worse due to her own mental state. My theory is that she's searching the Multiverse for the children she lost in WandaVision (meaning well) but will ultimately foul up Strange's attempts to close the Multiverse and correct his errors made during No Way Home. They will both be opposed to each other on very fundamental levels throughout the movie, with both sides being understandable.

That trailer and the implications it makes honestly set my expectations at an all-time high as far as trailers for a "solo" MCU movie goes. Obv Infinity War and Endgame got me in a big way too, but this trailer makes me so pumped for a movie I otherwise was very "sure whatever" about previously.

I don't have an issue with the voices, but I never had a connection to the original cartoons so I couldn't be paid to care. And I still don't understand the hate for Seth Rogen, he can be entertaining in the right role for sure. No huge range in his acting but that's very rarely ever necessary for the movies he's in.

The Boys: Diabolical looks really cool, Garth Ennis even writes one episode:

"I'm Your Pusher"

Writer: Garth Ennis

Director: Giancarlo Volpe

Animation Style: An homage to the original The Boys comics.

Each episode is a different writer with a different animation style.

Stranger Things S4 is going to be split into 2 volumes, and then S5 will be the final season.

Stranger Things fans, at long last we can finally reveal when the new season will be premiering!!
Stranger Things 4 is coming to you in two parts: Volume 1 premieres May 27 and Volume 2 quickly follows on July 1.
Not only is Stranger Things 4 going to be the most intense season so far, but it's also going to be the biggest! Nearly every episode is super-sized -- literally! That means Season 4 is 2x as long as Season 3!
And the reason Season 4 is so jam-packed with new locations, new characters, and the biggest threat yet is because these episodes set up the show's final act!
Yes, Season 5 will be the epic conclusion to this story -- which is how the creators have always envisioned it.
While this chapter is coming to an end, the Duffers believe there are more new adventures and stories to be told.

Interesting. There has been press lately about how people are just subscribing for a month, binging everything they want, and then stopping. This seems strategically placed to get people for at least 2 months. Although, if they are patient, I guess they could wait until like the first week of June, subscribe for a month, and get them both. But, my guess is that people that do that want them on release day -- so will sub for at least two months.

I see this becoming a bigger problem for streaming services in the future. I won't be surprised at all if we see Netflix and others going to more like D+ and the "old school" ways of new-episodes-every-week. And, if I'm being honest, I'd be fine with that. While I enjoy binging a series now and then -- I can also admit that having to wait for the next episode of Lost or Mandalorian or whatever was part of the fun/anticipation.

Fallen Order also lifted heavily from the TV show Rebels (the Inquisitors and all that), which are both in the same general time period as Obi Wan (between episodes III & IV), so I suppose that would make sense.

EDIT: Just re-watched the trailer and thought I recognized that building at the beginning, had to look it up to be sure but it is the location from an important part of Fallen Order too. Pretty neat.

@Sun I just wanna know what the actual plot is, because Boba COULD have had higher stakes if they wrote it that way, but ended up pooping the bed. At first I thought the Inquisitors were going to be hunting for Luke, thus causing Obi Wan to jump into action to deflect them away from Luke (while also keeping his own true identity a secret from him). But I'm having trouble remembering if we're supposed to assume that Vader knew of Luke prior to the original trilogy or not.

I guess they could just be sensing the Force and searching for Luke whether Vader knows who he is or not, but then I imagine they'd also just be sensing Obi Wan so... no idea haha

A quick Google search shows that Vader learned about Luke as his son between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

I imagine the plot of Obi-Wan could be similar to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with Inquisitors trying to find and eliminate Obi-Wan.

That last shot legit looks like age-up prosthetics were used to make him look older but given his age, I'm inclined to believe that's just what he actually looks like these days. Certainly showing his age, but I'm 100% looking forward to that. I've always dug the majority of what Mike Myers has done, so I'm excited to see how that series goes.

Stranger Things Season 4 trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQEondeGvKo

I feel like a lot of people have lost interest in Stranger Things, but I've enjoyed all 3 seasons and I'm pretty pumped for season 4. I was a little hesitant about the more horror vibe from the teasers, but after seeing the full trailer, I'm in! Apparently, this season is going to be almost twice as long as any of the previous seasons. I'm glad they'll have a lot of time to really develop whatever the heck is going on in this trailer, and hopefully give us more insight into the lore of this show.

I really enjoy Stranger Things. We literally subscribed to NetFlix to start watching it (just as S2 was coming out). What I do not enjoy is the huge amount of time between seasons on things like NetFlix now. All for 8 or 9 episodes!? Heck, I can't even remember what happened at the end of S3 hardly.

Note that this isn't ST specific. I feel like this is a real problem for almost all streaming service specific shows. Few episodes per season, way-too-long waits between them.

People today like to rip on "traditional" cable TV and how bad it was -- but I have no problem admitting that I really enjoyed getting 20-22 episodes of the X-Files or Lost every single year -- and you got them every year in the fall every time. (And, heck, because you couldn't watch them all at once and got them once a week or so, you barely had half a year of no new episodes to watch during the off-season).

I would happily pay more money for NetFlix if they would start guaranteeing more episodes per season -- or, heck, even guarantee a certain number of seasons of shows. I kinda hope this is the future of streaming actually. I think lots of people are frustrated by the 18+ months between seasons -- only to get 8-9 of them.

I have lost a bit of interest in Stranger Things even though I thought Season 3 as a vast improvement over Season 2 (while Season 1 is still tops imo), but I've been planning to watch Season 4 regardless and that new trailer has definitely raised my hype level. Creep boy there at the end looks to be the ultimate "big bad" for the show, so I'm looking forward to seeing what his whole deal is.

As for the longer season - I guess they're going to split it up. So it'll honestly probably feel like 2 seasons as opposed to just one longer one, but I may be wrong. I'm also pretty sure they announced S4 Part 2 will be the final batch of episodes. Been a wild ride.

Ah yah looks like there will be a fifth. Sorta lowers my hype to a degree tbh. Feel like there's a strong possibility such a long Season 4 is going to meander a bit to fill time before the true finale in S5. But I have faith they have a roadmap that will prove to be an entertaining time.

Keep in mind that a lot of the delays last year and this year were also made worse than they might have been thanks to the pandemic. The network shows went back to work as soon as they could, and endured additional shutdowns thanks to COVID flare ups in the cast and crew. I suspect some of the streaming shows either waited longer to go back to work, or had similar shutdowns.

Yeah, this has been a problem from before the pandemic. I'm sure it has caused some delays, of course, but this isn't a new/recent thing with most streaming services.

Even Stranger Things is a good example. Season 2 was 9 episodes released on Oct 27, 2017.
Season 3 was 8 episodes and wasn't released until July 4, 2019 -- over 18 months later.

That was all pre-pandemic.

I really don't think that was the issue. Again, they only did 8 episodes. This problem seems to be pretty widespread with NetFlix and other streaming service series. Even without children.

> I really wish they would
> have released the seasons faster, keeping the kids younger. Now they're getting old

Indeed -- this is another side effect of the problem. A lot of them have been continuing in the timeline as if no time has passed or maybe just a few months during the summer -- but the kids are 18 months older each time. So, we go from like one summer to the next where maybe 15 months have past -- and the kids are 3+ years older...

I agree. It's getting to the point where I want to wait until shows have ended, and then just watch through the entire thing straight through. But then you miss out on the fun of watching through it when tons of other people are, and discussing it with them, sharing memes, etc. A lot of times, I struggle to remember much of what even happened the previous season. Then I feel like I need to re-watch any previous seasons before watching the new one, but with so many things on my to-watch list, that's becoming more and more difficult. Locke and Key is a good example. S2 came out a few months ago but I still haven't gotten around to watching it because I remember almost nothing about S1.

I'm very much intrigued, but at the same time, I'm kinda surprised there's a "bigger" bad. S1 only had the Demogorgon, which turns out to just be a by-product of the upside down. But S2 introduced the Mind Flayer which was a much bigger (and actually intelligent) threat, and was still around in S3. I really didn't expect them to introduce some bigger bad guy.

I'm so happy they did. I think that's why I didn't like S2 or S3 as much as S1. Season 1 had Brenner too, who put a face to the evil crap going on even if the Demogorgon ended up being the true threat. 2 & 3 was just a faceless monster with no personality or motivation other than wanting to kill everything. With a focused villain, I feel like I'll enjoy the story way more than the past 2 seasons (though, again, I did enjoy S3 a bunch).
