You have to catch what you eat. That's my understanding of this "paleo" diet. So, you don't get to eat until you kill what you want to eat. You also can't cook it. That mailman is gonna be awfully chewy!

I don't want to be a dick, but you should stick to the 2500 cal diet until you're not hungry afterwords, that's the whole point of it. Unfortunately, starvation is the only way to reach that next SSJ level. I wish it weren't true. Drop it to 2000 ASAP.

Yeah, sorry, forgot you're a big guy. Definitely try to stay around that 2500-3000 area and see how it goes though. If you're diabetes starts affecting you at such a drastic low calorie intake definitely consult your doctors.

Better to take it slow than end up in a coma.

this is because the app uses a weight based algorithm to calculate calories. Higher weight = higher calories. There is no situation where someone needs 4500 cal/day unless they are extreme athletes. The doctors recommended 2500 for a reason - stick with it. You're going to be hungry, this is something you have to get used to if you want to be a healthy weight again.

if you're in a hospital is there a dietician you could talk to who could help you with meal plans and the right amount to eat? if not you should make an appointment with one when you get out

and it doesn't matter as much what you eat but the amount to lose weight. you could eat burgers and drink soda and lose weight if you're consuming less calories than you burn. but obviously that's not good for diabetes, and with the addictive sugary foods you're likely to consume more. talk to a dietician

My wife and I love this meal. Make it Sunday and eat throughout the week for lunch.

I've been doing paleo(ish) for about 6 years now and have never had trouble keeping in good shape even through injuries that have kept me from working out for long periods of time. One of my go-to sites for recipes is http://paleomg.com. I also use these two from time to time:

https://paleoleap.com/paleo-diet-recipes/
http://paleogrubs.com/paleo-diet-recipes

You have to be careful with just searching google for "paleo recipes" because I've seen a lot of recipes out there that are not really paleo and have you using some pretty bad ingredients. Have you don't much research on what the paleo diet is yet? If not, there are some good videos online I could send your way to better decide if this is something you really want to pursue.

ive done some research into it, knowing some of the food its does and doesnt have, i may modify it a bit and allow some dairy

That's pretty much the 1 thing I allow also. I'll have cheese on occasion and I put half & half in my coffee every morning. Even though I allow it in my diet I still don't have it in very high volumes. I grew up lactose intolerant though (I would get weird hives if I consumed any dairy) so I never got into the habit of making it part of my diet so wasn't was not a difficult thing to cut way down.

I just watched a movie Saturday night called "The Perfect Diet" on Amazon Prime. It was pretty good, it talked more along the lines of the science behind Paleo from an evolutionary perspective rather than what is and isn't allowed when eating that way. There was just a small bit towards the end of the movie where a guy named Dr. Sebring walks the host of the movie around a grocery store and says whats good, what bad, and the reasons behind why hes making those claims.

Mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, one teaspoon of lemon juice into a glass of water and drink it after every meal or 3x a day.

My guess is that the idea is that the acidity breaks down something and causes your body not to process it as it normally would, and you just crap it out? I know nothing about that type of stuff. It's just a guess.

Cut sugar. That's it - but that also includes alcohol.

I dropped 20 lbs (and I was only 195 to star with) by not drinking alcohol and completely taking away sugar for just a few months. These fad diets will almost always have you back to bad habits when you find it's a massive pain in the ass to maintain the weird quinoa and whatnot of the world. Just cut sugar. Guarantee you won't miss it before long and you'll quickly cut calories and gain energy.

edit: I see someone mentioned diabetes, obviously talk to someone before you go cutting sugar first if you do have it.
