I'm having problems with windows. I started getting a host.exe error when ever I try to open an app I would get an error spam, then it got worse now I can't even log in to windows becuase when I turn my pc on it crashes and then asks me if I would like to continue or trouble shoot windows. I tried system restore and resetting my PC, but it keeps saying it could not complete the process.

I'm thinking the best way to fix this would be to reinstall windows from the bios and usb drive. Also I want windows on my SSD so I'm thinking I should unplug the HDD drive first. What do you guys think? Good plan? Or should I do something else?

I'd format both drives, if you have something nasty on there you don't want it to remain on one drive and hop back on to the main drive. You won't need to disconnect the HDD while installing windows, it should ask where you want it during the initial setup.

That's what I have in mind, but The thing is last time I reinstalled windows it didn't ask me where I wanted it installed and just put it on my HDD. I had to tell it through the bios before I reinstalled windows for it to put it on the right drive. Problem is i don't remember how I did it. I had somebody guide me through it at the time.

Seems odd that it didn't let you choose. I suppose you could point your BIOS to the SSD for a primary drive. That may be where Windows pulled the direction from for installing on the HDD.

Windows install can be unpredictable at times - this is why I unplug all the hard drives except for the one I want to install Windows on when I do a system wipe. Better safe than sorry.

Things just got worse. I reinstalled windows on the HDD, and I can't use my SSD now. I noticed in disk management that the SSD file type says RAW on it. I tried to format it and it fails to format, I'm starting to think the drive got fudgeed up. I spent all day trying to fix it I'll try again tomorrow.
