Don't want goofy hicks running around with a gun in my city. Dumba$$ tourists are annoying enough as it is. Don't need them to be dangerous as well.

Its going to happen. I guarantee it. These 2nd amendment idiots are so damned jumpy they need AR-15s to protect themselves from monsters under their bed. God forbid they stumble into a colored person at night.

Concealed carry permit holders are statistically one of the most law-abiding factions. They don't go around shooting people. This is the definition of common sense legislation.

You have to willingly project a narrative that isn't backed by any stats or objectivity in order to be scared by this legislation.

Everyone is a law abiding citizen until they break the law. Until those heehaw states strengthen their gun laws there shouldn't be cross border reciprocity for concealed carry. We don't know what nutjobs have guns.

Unless these heehaw states want reciprocity with states when it comes to strict gun control laws then those states with strict gun control laws should not be subjected to reciprocity with their concealed carry laws.

If you have a concealed carry permit in one state, it will be valid in all states. As it stands, each state can have different laws regarding concealed carry permits. For example, I have a CCP in Pennsylvania, however it isn't valid in Maryland. If I make a wrong turn and end up in Maryland, I'd be committing a felony. This law takes that away.

One important note: You still have to follow all of the local laws for the state you're in. So while this allows you to carry in another state that didn't previously have reciprocity, it does not mean that your home state's concealed carry laws apply there for you.

This includes things like prohibited places, duty to inform an officer, etc.

You realize legal concealed carry permit holders aren't, like, getting arrested or shooting people... right?

And you realize that anyone who comes to NY will have to follow all of the same carry laws that a New Yorker with a permit does?

Are you saying 1/5 concealed carry permit holder gets arrested for shooting someone? That seems like a ridiculously high number.
