Basically. The NCAA series is hugely popular and they had to stop making it, so the most recent one is crazy valuable. Even the few years preceding are worth more than a few dollars.

Got these for $75 at an estate sale of a neighbor. No games in DS cases. Tomb Raider III is sealed. The sega genesis case was a cool surprise. Most available.

This one is expensive due to low volume. NHL '98 on SNES is also rare, but not nearly as expensive. Probably not as rare, but much better.

NCAA Basketball 2K3 is rare on GameCube because they decided to stop making sports games for GameCube and stopped production on the game so they pulled it from stores

Got this for $90. Genesis is a VA3 non-tmss high def model, one of the best revisions. Other noteworthy item is the pink 2P justifier.

Went to some thrift stores this morning, all I found was Kanye's "A Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" Deluxe Edition for $2, so that was cool.

Girl decided she wanted to get bubble tea with me later in the day, which was fine because it is next to the Goodwill I went to earlier in the day. Took a quick look around and grabbed these:

image
Paid $6 a pop, Each are brand new.

Went in line to pay and girl left to go order our drinks. While in line I see a media cart going to the shelves. Left the line to take a look. I knew the girl was waiting, so I just grabbed stuff I thought would be worth something and looked at the discs at the register. Turns out pretty much each item has value. Everything but the two DS games are complete. Spyro game is Eternal Night:

image
Each game was $3.

Usually I'd ignore this, but he spent 26 Canadian shipping it to me out of his own pocket, for free just because he wanted to do something nice for me.
So you can kindly fudge off.

Answered an ad on OfferUp for a lot of a couple PS2s and about 60 games. Wanted to take a look at what he had, but instead he just dropped the price to $100 and said just take it all. One of the games in the photos was a black label SOTN so I figured why not. Dude probably just wanted weed money - car smelled dank. Of the 60+ games, he pretty much had every Jam Pack demo disc. Lots of other garbage, but here are the standouts. Setting up a table at a game meetup on Sunday, so hopefully I will sell a lot of what I bought.

Found at the Sunday flea market I go to in town. 10 pesos / about .50 USD. There doesn't seem to be a copy of this on the internet.

image
I also went to a yearly music sale / trade con that a local store owner organizes, took a ton of stuff to trade away... and ended up making about 10 dollars in profit (more like $16 but the cabs cost money), AND got most of this with trades! (Goldmember, Grease 2 and the Che Guevara program thing cost me $3 total.)

But... that's not why I'm making this post.

While I was going through my storage for things I wanted to take along, I found an extra copy of the Mortal Kombat movie soundtrack. I intended to auction off a set of that and the Annihilation OST this month (I postponed the auction until January) so I figured, that's a third copy, and it has a UPC punch. Might as well take it. When I opened it to inspect the disc, I noticed something was off about the inside cover... it had writing on it. I took out the insert, looked at it a bit more, and it looked like a kid scribbled on it. Then I saw the front... and noticed what seemed to be signatures and the word "Liu Kang" on it.

Then it hit me.

Is this thing SIGNED?!

image

The writing was done with a black pen, so it's really hard to see, but... it looks like it's signed! I have to figure out how to get a good shot of the writing, because damn, I've had this in storage for YEARS and I never realized this!

(Also, why is motherbleeper censored to jerk)

Actually, yes I have. I shipped a package to someone in Canada in the mid 2010's, as part of a giveaway on Youtube. It was mostly stuff I didn't want or found to be worthless on the secondhand market, but I was glad to get it off my hands even if I had to pay "out of pocket" to do so.

So, YOU did it to offload crap, while Bighab did so because he knew I would love it. He did this to be nice, YOU did it to offload trash.
Don't compare someone giving me stuff they knew I would enjoy to your crapty youtube giveaway.

And on a side note, another user was inspired by Bighab and is sending me more "crap". And by crap I mean stuff they think I'll love, which I'm sure I will.
So again, kindly fudge off.

Not quite gaming or music-related...but my manager let me trade a $5 bill for these because they were showing up as a $.50 roll of pennies on the teller machine that counts the coins/bills. We found out they were silver when my manager dumped out the roll, and I picked one up and saw that it was a 1954 coin, lol. Commodity value for these comes out to $60 and come change, all but 1 were silver, the lone non-silver was a 1996 dime.

I've found a lot of cool, random stuff at my local library's book sale room but I think this takes the cake. I knew Parasite Eve was based on a book but I never expected to randomly stumble upon it. I picked it up for $1. Sweet. They rarely ever charge much more than that for anything. It wasn't until a couple hours later that I looked up what it was worth on Ebay (somewhere around $100 or so).

On Christmas Eve, I went to GameStop for their "Buy Four For Sixty" deal. One of the titles I picked out was Fire Emblem Warriors (Nintendo 3DS). But, when the store associate pulled the cartridge from the drawer, it was actually Fire Emblem Fates -- Special Edition (Nintendo 3DS). Turns out that, when it was traded in, it was misidentified and added to the store's inventory as its newer, cheaper, and more widely available cousin. When I tried explaining the mishap to the employee, he didn't seem to care too much and, as long as I was happy with the outcome, offered to sell it to me for its erroneously listed price.

So, yeah, I'd definitely call that a "find of the week." wink

You should know better than to try and bore GS employees with gaming knowledge. Also went there on Christmas Eve, but i didn't find anything, just got their last copy of Tales of Vesperia on the swatch, and some 4 4 20 chaff.. Also gambled on their website on Paper Mario for the gamecube cave story +, Blade Chasers Nightwar, and that Not Castlevania game for switch at $63. Also got a christmas present, a red cib vita with 8/32gb memory cards.
Not as good as getting a 150 dollar game for 10 but overall a good week.

Had a couple of real good finds today which was nice cause it's been a slow couple months.

First I found a Topre Realforce 87u keyboard for 3 dollars. Was just in a pile with all the other keyboards. I've been wanting one of these forever but they are always way too expensive to even consider. Real pumped about this, finally get to delete my eBay saved search. It's not in perfect shape but definitely good enough for my desk at work.

Then a few stores down I found a complete copy of Outrun coast 2 coast for the Xbox. Did a double take when I saw it on the shelf. Disc has been resurfaced but manual and case are real clean. Got it and five other games for 15 dollars total.

Thanks for the Christmas gifts, Universe.

Just got back from visiting my folks. They live in Bumfudge Nowhere, Tennessee but there are about 10 thrift stores within a 5 mile radius. Here are my finds:

image
Nests are brand new and sealed. Grabbed them for $70 each. The Gamecube was $10, and the movies were $4 each (also bought my sister A Star Is Born).
Got home and checked the credit card receipt - charged only $227. Not sure what happened, but it makes itemizing my purchases harder.

image
Games were $2 each except Monster Hunter which was $6. Dragon Ball Z game is in a Final Bout case so I bought it. Oddly enough I have a Final Bout manual.

image
Each game was $2.50 and the movies were $1.50 each. Tiger Woods and the two movies are sealed.

image
ESPN set was $25 - box is really beat up, but all the Blu-Rays and the booklet were included. Michael Jackson was $4, Wages of Fear $3, and the 200 yuan was $10.

Picked up Ghost Recon Breakpoint for $10 of a local FB sale. Happy about that.

I also had some money in my pocket to burn from Xmas and someone local posted up a bunch of import Sega Saturn games. And hiding in there was a Moreo Justice Gauken (Project Justice) import for Dreamcast. Which is pretty much the only import DC game I needed for my Capcom collection. I had bought it when it originally came out, but then traded it away for the US version (Project Justice) but all my other DC games are imports, and that US title stuck out like a sore thumb.

Anyway, a while back @Sam sent me the spine card for Moreo out of the kindness of his heart, and I was able to pick up this mint copy of Moreo for $20. It didn't have the spine-card, but I already had it! I just picked it up today and it's in mint condition! I'm so happy! Thanks @Sam for helping me build up a complete copy again!

Nice find. Anything emblazoned with that classic Capcom logo from the '80's, '90's, and even the early 2000's is about as good as it gets in my book. That includes those sweet, sweet arcade posters that you really need to post pictures of, @Sid_Ceaser. yes

Speaking of cool stuff, I picked up Godzilla (PlayStation 4) today from my local GameStop. Originally, it was listed at USD $59.99. But, I was able to use my Power Up Rewards Pro membership to drop it by ten percent and apply a USD $15.00 coupon I purchased using 12,000 Pro Points. So, when all was said and done, I paid a little over forty bucks outta pocket. Not too shabby, if you ask me. smile

Over the holidays a friend of mine messaged me out of the blue to let me know he was moving and wanted to know if I was interested in checking out some gaming stuff he was getting rid of. I said sure and headed over. Turns out he's moving across the country for audio engineering school and had a bunch of stuff he cleaned out from his parents house. He was super chill about everything and even told me to lowball him just so he could get stuff out of the house. So for $100 I walked away with a ROB, an instant Intellivision collection, and a bunch of other great stuff!

Amazon has that show listed as MOD, so yeah. MOD.

The people who run the post office place I get my mail at asked me if I wanted some bubble mailers. Apparently another customer gave them a 30 gallon garbage bag filled with eBay branded, DVD sized bubble mailers, because he didn't want to throw them out. And since they know I sell stuff online they asked me if I wanted some.

I grabbed as many as I could fit inside my backpack and my grocery bag... about 80 or so? And somehow managed to smuggle them back here without Mexican customs noticing. So now I'm good for bubble mailers for quite a while. I'm grabbing a bunch more next time I go there, too. :p

Oh cool. I want to move to the Nashville or Memphis area.

Are you actively looking for these? I have a CIB review kit X-Men Legends 2 that I've been looking to move

I don't remember Catan even coming out for n-gage

Not really, and the yellow stripped review kits aren't a real priority i just reminded myself about it recently and happened to luck out on finding a seller. Catan did come out, but the American release seems to be rare. Release date is apparently a few weeks before they discontinued it, so no surprise you didn't hear about it.

I didn't even think Catan and Ngage existed on the same timeline, that's pretty neat actually. Can't imagine it's any good, but cool anyways

Thanks bill!

I had (I think) my most expensive thrift store find ever. Thought I would share. Thrift stores have now totally reopened so I have been busy. It is nice working from home so I can pop into some while working. Hit up a couple stores today after work.

Yahtzee and the two DVDs were $5 each and sealed. Catan was $7 but I am keeping it. Love that game.

I will buy any Criterion blind (except for the usual cheap ones - Tennenbaums, Chasing Amy, etc...), especially for a couple bucks. Hope these are worth something.

Not pictured - Xbox 360 Guitar Hero III and II guitars for $8 each.

In all three photos I spent a little over $200 today.

Some nice stuff there. I've always wanted to play Catan, seems to be a loved game.

I have only looked at one so far (Spellbound) and have it listed for $45 on Mercari. Hopefully the rest are equally as valuable.

Catan is extremely boring so I can't imagine it's good portably.

Just the scaling (and resolution) seems like it'd be pretty awful. I think they made one for mobile, but I don't dare. We've got Catan and a couple expansions set up in a plastic segregation bin, if the itch lands it's easy to bring out and play.

Or there's always Tabletop Sim on Steam, which is frankly pretty great. My old WoW group and I have played some cool stuff on there, Talisman, that Cyanide and Happiness card game, couple co-op dungeon board games. Century: Spice Road, one of my faves

I just find Catan extremely, extremely boring. There are better board games out there.

It's not bad, it's as good as the company you play with. I enjoy the salt fests and broken pacts. I don't mind just about any board game I've tried really.

We don't even use the framework for our boards, we randomize tiles and flip once we explore new areas, every game's a little different. Keeps things fresh.

My flea market hunting buddy and I took a trip around town early this morning. The flea markets on both sides of the border are closed, but some sellers are bringing stuff from up north to sell here under the uh, table. So this week we decided to visit a few places. I ended up spending a lot more than I wanted, but I had some birthday money and so I figured I'd... invest it. I found this at the last booth we visited:

This is a DVD game that came with a custom made remote control. It's a re-release, apparently the original release came in a large board game sized box. The only other company I can think of offhand that did something like this was Disney with their Mickeymote (meant to be used with their Mickey Mouse TV show DVDs.)

Speaking of... the first booth we went to had quite a few DVDs, so I grabbed several Disney ones in so-so shape and other related movies for my site project, a John Wayne boxset with four movies (which I'll list with some other things I have around), a video enhancing / editing deck thing, a vhs to dvd capture device, some old computer media (tapes), an 8mm rewinder that ended up being broken (but the power supply can be reused) and some printer ink.

I spent about $40 total, which is a lot for a single day, but I'll probably make it back with the ink and tapes alone. So, it's fair.
