I read on Reddit that a lot of eShop games usually go on sale around E3, so don't buy anything for full price if you can wait.

I recently got Odium: to the core using just a couple points. It's a bit like Loco Roco to some degree...but less interesting. The world rotates around you via single-button gameplay (think flappy bird but hold the button to go up not tap it...and the world moves around you). It's really stylish, has good music, and is worth a couple tries. I think it's worth a buck or so that it costs.

Edit: Looks like it's $4.99 on the website but I got it for like $1 via the Switch just a few days ago. Hmmm.

I've been trying to figure this out too. There are multiple grips on Amazon that are all fairly well-reviewed. Can't decide which one to go with.

I like the Skull & Co grip pretty well. Comes with 3 different style attachments for the hand grips, so my kids and I can swap and use different ones that fit each of our hands better.

Are there any worthwhile F2P games on Switch right now besides Fortnite, Warframe, and Paladins? Not interested in Smite or Fallout Shelter but I wasn't sure what else was even available in that category.

So I picked up Broforce... not at all what I thought it was. Best I can describe it is an action puzzler. I checked out some reviews, watched gameplay video and thought it would be like Contra Force with a ton of action bros. Instead you get random bros to beat mostly small stages that may or may not be suited to your character's unique abilities. It's actually pretty fun, but feels like it should be mindlessly repetitive. For under $8 it's worth it if you like 80's action movies and shooters with a hint of puzzles.

I'll probably pick that up. I rented it on Xbox 360 and enjoyed it, but never got around to buying it. Hopefully they don't charge $60. I never got to play the Wii version. I remember in an interview promoting the game, Dan Aykroyd said he actually preferred the Wii version. I wish they'd remaster that one just for Switch (because it probably used mandatory motion controls).

Ghostbusters wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing either. I don't see a remaster adding anything to that game. Especially with Luigi's Mansion 3 coming out at some point.

I enjoyed it, but if there's one thing I wish they'd re-do for the remaster, it would be to get Bill Murray to re-record his lines. One of the only complaints I can remember having about the game a decade ago was Bill's character just sounded so bored compared to everyone else.

They added a much more open looking world and "raid bosses" you can do with friends. Game looks really good. I've not played a Pokémon since Silver but I've got Sword preordered.

Only "big" games launching this November that we know about now are: Death Stranding, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Shenmue III. Pokémon will probably steamroll any one of those games.

pokemon will definitely steamroll the sales charts, but those other games definitely have a different audience too, i'll be playing DS and SW JFO but no interest in pokemon, i was older when that craze hit so never got into pokemon and not real interested in it, a lot of people are, A LOT of people, but a lot arent too so i would be surprised if any of those move to stay away from it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pokémon sell at least 2x anything else in November (maybe even December) except maybe Star Wars and that's only because its multiplat. Any exclusive is going to be demolished.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Pokemon Direct today, it looks much better than I previously thought. It's basically the large 3D world I've been saying I wanted to see in a new Pokemon game. I'm still not clear on how the encounters worked. In a couple parts, it seemed like they were purely random, but in other parts of the video, it seemed like you could see the pokemon on the world map, like in Let's Go. Maybe that's just for that special catching area, but I really hope it's like that everywhere. I still don't plan to get the game for myself, but my son will probably end up asking for it for Christmas, so I'll get to play it anyway haha

I didn't see any random encounters. There was an encounter in the grass but I'm pretty sure you could see it.

So I just beat Broforce. A fun game but fudge that last level. One of those that just keeps piling on. I'm convinced it's impossible to beat certain sections of the game with certain characters, but the character you get to play with is randomly generated. That last level has a handful of elements I hate in gaming, but overall a fun game. Additionally there was quite a bit of stutter in more intense portions of the game. It would be nice to reward the player who beat it with the ability to create line-ups for future play through. Probably give it a solid 7.5/10

Glad to hear a November release date for Pokemon. That means Link's Awakening might get released in October, since I don't see them releasing it too close to Pokemon. I haven't played a Pokemon game since Moon, but I am interested in Sword and Shield. I wouldn't be getting at launch, since DQ 11 is supposed to release later this year as well.

A lot of games slated for a small window... I still say something needs to get pushed to 2020. I wonder when Zelda gets released... Sept, Oct or Dec? Mid Dec makes the most sense, with LM getting released late Sept- early Oct. A lot of good games coming in the next 6+ months, and you know there will be unannounced stuff.

Animal Crossing

Mario Maker 2
Astral Chain
DQ11
Fire Emblem

All releasing in within like 5 months from one another.

All of these fake "leaked" and "confirmed" E3 videos are driving me nuts. The latest was Animal Crossing being delayed (fake).

I will say this though, I don't know why, but I am giddy with excitement for the next Animal Crossing. I sunk so much time into New Leaf, and the thing is I don't even know why I like Animal Crossing games.

That's how I feel about Pokemon. I've never even tried one, although I might check out this new one.

With Animal Crossing, I only played the GameCube one to get the NES games. I didn't play any others until New Leaf. I don't know what made me decide to pick it up, but I'm glad I did. I played that game for hundreds of hours. In now really looking forward to the next one.

My unpopular opinion is it makes good business sense to delay one of the big 2019 titles to 2020. Mario Maker has a June date, FE has a July date, Astral Chain has an August date and Pokemon is locked in for November. So that leaves Sept, Oct and Dec for Luigi, Animal Crossing and Zelda. I don't see them launching big games within 2 weeks of another, so that leaves a mid Dec and late Sept/early Oct release. Zelda and Luigi will be playable at E3, AC won't. Luigi is the perfect Holloween hype game, so I'd pencil that in for late Sept-Oct. Pokemon in mid Nov, and LA for mid Dec. That leaves AC getting pushed to late winter, but more likely early Spring. This also gives them more time to beef up their online which AC relied on heavily. It just makes too much sense if AC is going to be on a similar level to New Leaf. This makes great marketing sense, but it's Nintendo and marketing had always been spotty.

I've tried a few Pokemon, but never got into it. I tried every AC game, but never got into them until New Leaf.

I want to see what they have that has yet to be officially revealed. New console likely won't be announced, outside of a new theme or two. Do we get a MP trilogy in Spring 2020? I'd love Mario Golf or Switch Sports, but I think this year's unlikely for either. (If they were smart they'd release a Switch Sports that includes everything from the Wii versions and pump that for three holidays, but I digress) Equally interested to see what third parties do. I think a solid Madden with acceptable online would sell very well.

That would be wierd. Mario Maker end of June, Luigi sometime in July, Fire Emblem 7/26... maybe FE's release is in jeopardy, but I doubt it. What, less than 5 days to find out?
dustin11
Double Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally
6-Jun(#44)
I think that releasing it in October would be good so it could coincide with Halloween, but I think it would also get buried with other bigger releases landing around the same time and then it would get murdered in November when Pokémon goes on its killing spree.

Did you know from 2007-2014 Nintendo had only released 1 game in the month of July (Wii Sports Club on Wii U) because they were convinced nobody was in the mood to buy new games in the summer time?

Hard to say, I did a lot of grinding throughout the game for high-IV pokemon, plus a ton more grinding at the end. Not sure how long a more standard playthrough would take.

I don't get this crap. Because its logo wasn't shown as being playable on the E3 show floor (despite the list saying "...and more!") people think that means it was delayed so they're going all over YouTube and Twitter to spread misinformation.
I don't think that's the case. With Metroid Prime 4 and Breath of the Wild (even before it had an official title) Nintendo let us know well in advance that they were getting delayed instead of waiting until E3 to tell us.

I remember them saying they're done making Tales games exclusive because they're missing out on too many potential sales by doing that, so glad to see that its going other places even if it does look kind of like a weird Monster Hunter/Dark Souls mashup. Japanese devs are pretty much tripping over themselves to put anything they can on the Switch primarily because it is by far the hottest thing in Japan right now.
