If a game is physical, I buy physical. It's nice to be able to sell/trade it once I'm done of if I don't like it. I try to avoid paying more than $15 for anything digital. I actually can't think of any game I have ever purchased over $15. It's too much of a risk if I don't like it. If they offered trials for these games, I might consider spending more.

The switch cases are so tiny ,even thinner than the already small DS cases. So space is not an issue with me. I just some months ago decided to focus on my portable systems for my physical collection. And I'm enjoying it. But I see the other way too. So as long as you are having fun.

Finally finished the Witcher 3 and both DLCs. This was my second time beating the main quest and my first playing both DLCs. Ended up a level 52 with over 105 hours.
Main Quest - 9/10. Having beat this first on PS4 I gotta say I don't think the poet suffered at all blind you I bought this after the patch that lets you control graphics a bit more.
Heart of Stone - 10/10. This was not only the best DLC I've ever played but one of the greatest stories I've seen in a video game. Riveting characters and amazing quest
Blood and Wine - 7/10. After the amazing HOS, this one felt a bit off. Essentially a murder mystery, the ending was pretty wild and the main boss was a great fight. I will say I probably died more on this one than I did during any part other than the beginning of the main quest. Also, this was the only part I noticed a dip in the quality of gameplay. A lot of slowdown, pop in, and randomly getting stuck. Still a fun DLC and worth a play through

All in all I can't recommend this port enough. One of the greatest games of all time on the go is simply incredible.

My LRG Mary Skelter 2 finally shipped. I think it was available 2 months ago but my order was tied with Va-11 HALL-a which was delayed. That's ok because I'm sure I'll need a game to play later in June in between Xenoblade and Paper Mario.

lol I would hope so since one game is over a decade old and the other 8 years old. Especially after seeing the witcher and skyrim running well on the switch.

I have a feeling this won't be a game I finish. Got to the glacier stage. Ice, medusa heads, multiple stringed cloud steps while needing to reverse direction over instant death. I'm sure the platforming intensity goes up. Really enjoyed it up till now, will try to slog through the glacier.

The Messenger definitely had some frustrating platforming at times, but the better you get at it, the more fun and rewarding it becomes.

Anyone here play either of the new 2k trilogies? Just bought bioshock set, but still debating on the borderlands collection. I just bought handsome collection on ps4 to play with my buddy.
I at least want one borderlands game to play on the go. I thought about getting borderlands 1 goty but they want 30 for it, and they want 40 for the handsome collection, but 50 for the entire collection. So I'm at a loss. Whether I should buy 1 for 30, or just spend a lil bit more and get the entire thing, but might not play it right away

I finished The Touryst last night. Decent game was a fun pixel 3D artstyle, but the gameplay was just alright. The camera made the 3D platforming harder than it needed to be. Very short game tool. Only 6-7 hours to 100% it. Definitely wouldn't pay full price for it.

Haha, u joking right? Lol jk I wish companies would do that, but I doubt even one game is in the cart fully. I looked at Walmart today, and on the borderlands legendary collection, you would need an additional 42gb download. I look on eShop and the entire collection is like 49gb(i think), so that tells me they went with an 8gb cart, and Im pretty sure the smallest game is larger then 8gb.
I would have bought it physical if even two of the games was on cart, but I ultimately decided to get it digital. At least then I wouldn't need a cart, if I have to download it all anyways

OK, after playing Bioshock 1 for awhile, and I must say that they did one hell of a job on the port. I'm playing it on a lite, so it can't say if it will look different on a TV, but it's very smooth and brings me back memories of when I first played.

I would rank Borderlands series the same as well, 2>3>1>prequel. 3 was pretty good but was lacking a certain something that made 2 as good as it was and it had some really bad performance issues. Prequel wasn't even developed by the same studio as 1 & 2, they outsourced it to some Australian dev who never worked on a BL game before.

BL 3 is great imo, it added some great QoL stuff, like sliding and grabbing ledges. 2 is great of course. I could never get very far in the pre sequel, was very boring imo. As far as 1 goes, I never played it til the goty version came out last year. I like it as wlll, not as good as the others but still fun
dustin11

My biggest issues in BL3 was that legendary weapons way too often were not very good and didn't do anything that made them special and exciting to use like they were in BL2. The other, probably bigger issue, was the bosses felt way too bullet spongy and were a pain to fight because of it. I've beaten every BL game and all DLC maxing out my character's level and completing every side quest (only exception being the BL3 DLC which I'm waiting to go on sale before picking up). BL1 had maybe 1 good DLC pack that added a lot of post game content (the General Knoxx one), but BL2's DLC were all very very good and added a substantial amount of content to the game. The Presequel kind of felt like 1 big DLC pack with weird mechanics.

We had a bolt of lightning hit our front yard last night, and it fried most of my electronics in my family room (tv, receiver, 4k player) and a few other things. Thankfully, I was playing my Switch in portable mode at the time, so is fine. Unfortunately, my Switch dock didn't make it. It still charges, but there is no picture.

So does anybody have an extra dock for sale? I don't know his much they actually are, but Amazon has them for $95 (that's insane). If that's the actual price, I may have to consider third party. Does anybody have a third party dock they could recommend?

On, and on the down low, I just confiscated my kids' dock for the time being. They'll never know.

That's horrible! Did you have a surge protector and it failed?
Honestly, the prices are crazy. That $95 is a renewed price! I bought a new one on ebay for $100 a few weeks ago and that was pushing it for me but needed it and was the lowest I could find. I have seen them around $110-$150 as well because of the shortage. Hopefully someone here can help you, or they do have some other options such as this: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-dock-kit-wit...

They have other options on Amazon and such with decent reviews, but just do some research with what you choose to avoid issues with the system. I get nervous with third party stuff sometimes.

Just the dock. Since I have two in the house, I was able to test the AC and HDMI. The wires are fine. The dock will even charge the Switch and make the Switch screen turn off. It just won't display on the TV.

Debating on buying the Outer Worlds digitally for Switch. Think it drops today. I know there are texture downgrades compared to the other releases but that's the only major drawback I've seen written in technical reviews.

Has anyone played the game? I hear it's great but I feel like its praise came outta nowhere, I never kept up with it or anything but it looks sorta neat for a sci fi fan like me. Anyone know what the story is about and how well the open world aspect is pulled off? Is it recommended?

What is it with the overabundance of roguelikes on the Switch eShop. It seems like every game in a little bit interested in is a roguelike, and I really can't stand them. They're an easy way for small developers to add a lot of play time to the game without adding a lot of content. I'm in the same boat in that I've lost interest fairly quickly in the few I've played (crypt of the necrodancer, enter the gungeon, and a couple others whose names escape me) so I've avoided buying more.

I'd rather have a great 2 hour game start to finish than a great 2 hour game that lasts 20 hours.

Roguelikes are the new Metroidvanias. I loved Slay the Spire, but I think that was mostly because of the deckbuilding aspect. I don't think I would like other Rougelike games.

Well I love rogue likes, so I might be bias. But Fury is definitely one of the more unique ones. It's a side scrolling shooter, so you play as far as you can before dying. While playing you lvl up and earn skill points to put into permanent various Stat boosters or more HP, attack power, etc.
I definitely can tell how it would be described as a contra game for its shooting and various guns/items, and platforming like dead cells

Anyone play the Telltale Walking Dead games on Switch? I've wanted to play the series, but when I got it on PS3 it was unplayable with stutter around episode 2. They abandoned it. It's only $4, but that's $4 I don't want to waste.

Just bought Season 1, 2, and New Frontier. Never played them on anything but PC so no idea with the stutter issues, but hopefully the lack of backlash to the Switch versions means that they're safe.

Really dug Seasons 1 and 2 the first time I played them, but I'm over trying to run games on my PC. Plus this is mobile so I'll get way more out of them this time around, and a lot more time to play.

Yoku's Island Express is only $6.79, super chill game that you can't in. it's also a pinball/Metroidvania type of game.

Has anyone played Golf Story?

I'm enjoying Sparklite more then I thought.

I've looked into Sparklite but Rogue-like and procedurally generated are games I tend to buy and then realize I can't stand the randomness and then stop playing.

I really enjoyed Golf Story. It's very charming, funny, and as a mario golf fan I enjoyed it. If you liked the gb mario golf games you should enjoy it. It's probably in my top 10 switch games.

If you get through s1 ep 2 without issue in the next day or two let me know. On PS3 I tried getting through it, but there was a quick time event in the back of a truck that dropped frames so bad it was impossible to get past. What's more frustrating was TellTale was well aware of it, feigned sympathy and ignored their customer's complaints.

I haven't, but I have a friend who bought one of the Telltale Batman games on Switch and it crashed when she got to the 5th and final episode and her save data ended up corrupted (this was before Switch had cloud saves) so she just watched how it played out on YouTube.
They know how to write good stories but the engine they were using for so long is crap and you just never know how your experience will go.

Never played any Mario Golf game. This is my first mainline Nintendo Console since the GameCube. . Which I only bought for Resident Evil 4

I hear golf story is good and they are working on "sports story" which includes tennis and other sports now. I can't wait for the LRG version of that one boi.

Golf story was a fun game but it got pretty tedious after awhile. I'm really excited for sports story. Same good gameplay and art style but so much more variety

What Switch case do y'all have? I used to have the Hyperkin (https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...) but ended up bundling it with my old Switch when I sold it, with plans to buy a new one. Overall it was a great case, I just didn't like that it only had 5 game slots, and they weren't quite big enough so you actually couldn't fit 5 games in them all at the same time. I recently ordered the Orzly case (https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...) to replace it. It's a little bulkier. I actually prefer the slimmer size of the Hyperkin, but the Orzly has more protection so I can make my peace with that. The game slots are much better. Also, I like that it has cut-outs on the left and right bottoms for the joycons to fit down into. The mesh pocket is larger as well. The only thing I don't like about the case is the inside is too big, so the Switch slides around. With my Hyperkin case, I didn't even use the built-in straps, I just set the Switch in there, zipped it up, and was good to go. If I do that with the Orzly case, it slides around a lot. The straps help a little bit, but not much, and it's a pain to strap and un-strap it every time. Does anybody know of a case like the Hyperkin that fits the Switch well, but has better game slots like the Orzly?

I have either this one or one very similar. It was one of the only ones available when I first got my Switch so I figured whatev. Little Zelda action.

I have a dacckit. I like it because it has enough game cart slips, and it sorta matches the grey pokemon switch lite I have with whitish grey combined with light aqua blue. The pokemon switch has some light blue and pink buttons. So it looks nice.

I have an Amazon Basics one. I think it's this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

This one looks like it has the extra padding/sturdiness of the Orzly case, plus better game slots, while fitting the Switch much better like the Hyperkin case. Plus it doesn't have any straps! I probably won't even use that little velcro thing underneath, but we'll see. Amazon had a Used - Like New that said it came in original damaged packing. Only $8 so I jumped on that. I'm not crazy about the outside look of it, but maybe it will look better in person?
