22-Feb(#2)The Room looks pretty interesting. I'll grab it with the gold coins I have currently.
bogo

22-Feb(#3)from what i remember, the room was pretty good. played it a long time ago on mobile.
but this is one of those insanely prices games. regularly $1 on mobile, but $10 on Switch...$2.49 is much better, but still...
Kommie

22-Feb(#5)Diablo and Hades are nothing alike besides the isometric look. Diablo is a Dungeon crawl and Hades is a Rouge like with permanent upgrades that make it a less annoying rogue like.
Bleed_DukeBlue

* 22-Feb(#7)Diablo games are the best. I beat all three and all expansions on PC back in the day and plan to replay 3 on and the remaster of 2 on PS4/PS5 eventually. You go around killing stuff for loot, and the loot options are really diverse and visually interesting. In Diablo 3, (I forget what all is in the others, as it's been so long) you can find helmets, armor, rings. amulets, gems and runes to modify items with sockets, etc. Every character has multiple viable builds with a bunch of skill tree options.

23-Feb(#10)I imagine D4, if it's on Switch will only be through the online only/ran through servers like Hitman 3/Control.
Kommie

23-Feb(#12)no idea, but it could just be more demanding in the background.

23-Feb(#14)Kommie wrote:> no idea, but it could just be more demanding in the background.
There was a lot of crap going on in D3 and Switch handled it great. Of course it's going to be downgraded but D4 literally looks like it's the same engine. I am only guessing though. Man it would be amazing to have a D2-D3-D4 collection on Switch!

23-Feb(#15)Boss wrote:> For a second I got excited. I thought you guys were talking about D/Enemy Zero.
Enemy zero was amazing. Not really any jump scares, just invisible enemies while you're armed with either nothing or a gun with super limited ammo (one of them literally had one shot before you had to go recharge it) and a shooting distance of about a foot in front of you. And it takes about five seconds of holding the button before you can fire, but hold it too long and it shorts out. And of course a single hit from an enemy is instant game over. Hope you saved! Except you probably didn't, because they gave you a battery operated recorder to save, and it drained the battery both to save AND to load.
If that all sounds aggravating and frustrating, it's intentional to raise the stakes. If dying wasn't a big deal, it wouldn't be nearly as scary when you hear the ping of a nearby enemy in front of you. And then the lower ping telling you one has shown up behind you now as well...
Would be very cool to see a remake of that one.

That's awesome. Why is there no music? Wasn't there music in THPS?

23-Feb(#18) So I got Mario 3d World in the mail today and have been playing for the last couple of hours. Having a lot of fun with it. Haven't tried Bowsers fury yet. I'm already to world 3, it just seems like it will be a short game

Half and half. I try to get as much in my first run of each lvl. But I move on if still not getting everything. I'm sure to 100% the entire game will take longer
SilverOwl

24-Feb(#23)Ok, so I realized paper mario isn't for me. I made a trade topic and gotten a couple of good offers. One for Mario odyssey and the other for xenoblade chronicles de. Now I can't decide which one to trade for.
Kommie

24-Feb(#24)Xenoblade is definitely longer. Odyssey is probably super easy though.
theJaw

* 24-Feb(#25)Haven't played DE but did play 2 and was bored to death by it. So if DE is at all similar, I'd pass on that personally. Odyssey may be easy but it's at least very fun and visually pleasing, and there is a lot packed into it. I vote Odyssey.
mcorrado

24-Feb(#26)I got bored with odyssey, haven't played XCDE but these games are different enough. I will add xenoblade will likely become more rare/expensive than odyssey which should always be affordable as a main line Mario game.

Yeah, mushroom world was no walk in the park, and then flower world was pretty challenging. Champion's Road is obviously ridiculous, but the other 2 levels in Crown world are really hard too. There's the mystery house that has like 20 rooms in a row you have to clear, and the boss rush where you have to beat the harder version of each boss all in one shot. The hardest part about that last one was doing it within the time limit, so the increased speed on the Switch version should help a ton.
SilverOwl

24-Feb(#29)I previously had odyssey and beat the main game, didn't find all the moon's of course. Guess Im leaning more towards XBC
Kommie

24-Feb(#30)XBCDE also made side quests easier to do apparently. everything is shown on the map where to go and what not.

Can't go wrong with either. 3D Platformer done really well, or a very long action JRPG. Note that if you played Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii, the QoL improvements on the Definitive Edition are worth it. I never got very far in the Wii version because of all the fetch quests, but in DE, all the fetch quests are much easier to complete (even if they are still monotonous) because of the indicators that point you where you need to go or what you need to kill or collect.
Bleed_DukeBlue

* 24-Feb(#32)Does the combat get better in Xenoblade Chronicles? I started it awhile back and hated that it did that auto attack thing. It's been sitting on the shelf ever since.

I played XBC2, not a lot but a couple hours. Heck I might have played some of XBC but just don't remember. Never played any of the wii versions either.
Now that I think about it, I believe I played a few hours of XBC DE, as I borrowed it from a friend. I think I just wasn't in the mood for a jrpg back then.

No, it doesn't really change that much.

When I reflect back, I don't think so. It's over the top and typical JRPG, but not memorable IMO as other JRPGs. Maybe I'm biased, but I prefer the plot of the FF games.

25-Feb(#44)I know little about Pokémon, but I'm following this for my kids. What's "Let's Go Sinnoh" referring to, and why do many online hate the idea?

Sinnoh is the region from gen IV (Diamond/Pearl). Let's Go would be referring to Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, where they remade Red/Blue (Gen I) on Switch, with that pokeball accessory. It seems we may be getting another "Let's Go" game on top of the Diamond/Pearl remake, which would be so great if true!
Edit: It just occurred to me that it more likely means that the Diamond/Pearl remake is going to be Let's Go style, instead of a standard remake for Diamond/Pearl and a separate Let's Go game, like I suddenly got my hopes up for. That's still fine, I guess. I really like the changes they made for the first Let's Go game, I wouldn't mind all remakes using that formula now.

Thanks! I understood the Let's Go thing, but I couldn't figure out what Sinnoh was. When I googled it it returned a bunch of articles about the leak and a bunch of people complaining about the rumors.

25-Feb(#49)No way in hell subnautica will run smooth on switch. It took me playing on a series s to get even frame rate. It's a great game but I somehow doubt how it will look and run on switch
egg

* 25-Feb(#50)I am starting to think that PS4 gen games get ported to Switch simply to die. There must be some sort of math behind it. Like maybe the sales from a crap Switch port must be just enough to cover the cost of porting. It's often the case that the Switch version becomes slightly more tolerable after updates, but never great by the sound of it.

some people only care about portability - they'll buy it even if it's a slide show.
theJaw

26-Feb(#52)Maybe it's just the games I've played personally, but every game I've played that folks say "won't play smooth on the Switch" end up playing perfectly smooth on the Switch.

I feel the same, although I actually only run at 20 frames per second, so I'm not a reliable source.
Kommie

26-Feb(#54)If/when Ys IX comes to Switch and it runs fine, I might get it for Switch over PS4/5 but we'll just have to wait and see.

And it's probably gonna work the same for these remakes, knowing Nintendo.

26-Feb(#66)Based on how Sword/Shield went, it's safe to figure it's gonna work the same way, right?

Pokemon community turned real toxic with Sword & Shield even before it released.
Kommie

26-Feb(#68)Nintendo have always been anti-consumer with Pokemon by locking the 3DS/DS/GBA/GB games with one save file. I'm not exactly spouting information that is false. With Switch, I assume profiles get around it.

I mean, that's generally how any ANY gamer reacts to paid DLC, in literally any situation... Not entirely sure why you'd narrow it down just to "Pokemon fans", but you do tend to segregate fandoms for an easy snarky comment on the TZ boards so I suppose it's not super surprising eh Komlad?
