Some trends:

- Nintendo Switch, and in a small part its Lite counterpart(currently available on BB and GameStop), have been selling out and bringing aftermarket prices to upwards of $500.

- In the retro market, PS1/PS2 and GameCube games are on the up and up.

- In the past month, it's good to be a seller on eBay, but seems like it's been slowing down this week.

What other trends have you been noticing? Feel free to share and discuss.

A lot of harder-to-find, pricier titles are being placed on the auction block. The prices may not be sliding; but, at least it's becoming available. At least, that's what I'm beginning to notice.

This is what many were expecting. Things going to get worse before it will get better. Sad for the collector but happy to see some cool stuff going up for sale.

I don't know if this counts, but a lot of PC components are getting low on stock and selling for higher than usual prices. I had been planning to build a new PC for a while. When it finally got to the point where I could start ordering parts, a lot of them had skyrocketed in price. PSUs are the worst right now.

Animal Crossing anything is on fire, thinking of selling of my GC copy. Sold a case and manual only for Wild World for $20 just yesterday.

NCAA Football 14 is over $200, I sold mine about a month too soon for $140.

Wii Sports, Resort, and Mario Kart are exploding. I had a CIB Mario Kart sit and finally sell a month ago for $25. Sold a CIB earlier this week for $40. Wii Sports was maybe a $10 game but is now hitting $30.

I was selling 5 or so things a day, slowed a bit. I think I am selling maybe 3 a day.

People are price gouging VR headsets due to high demand, for obvious reasons. On the other hand, the Oculus Quest headsets that were *already* being price gouged before all this happened seem to be going down a bit in price, for some reason.

NES games are pretty cheap, SNES games are insanely overpriced now. Not sure if any of that correlates to the virus junk or not. the only thing I noticed in relation to the timeframe is that Grandia went from $30 to $60 all of a sudden and Valkyrie Profile went from around $70 to over $140.

It might depend on the PS3 you're looking for. I looked into selling my 60gb fat version and remember them between $150-200 a few months ago. I haven't gotten around to listing it anywhere because I am so undecided and hate to never play Heavenly Sword again.

The Nintendo DS library, particularly loose cartridges but also complete titles, seems to be tapering off a bit. I believe this has less to do with the Coronavirus and more to do with its loss of backwards compatibility on Nintendo's most current handheld offering. So goes the ebb and flow of Nintendo Entertainment System desirability. wink

I haven't looked too closely at any major trends but I have browsed around and noticed quite a few games I had been trying to sell in my master thread have gone up in value a decent amount, particularly stuff on PS2 and GameCube.

Ended up getting about $30 each for those old and not most recent NCAA sports games. Can't see them continuing to be worth so much so I was happy to dump them, but who knows I could be wrong.

Basically anything I list is selling pretty quickly. I'm not in @DarkFact purge mode nor could I be as I have too much crap but I am thinking of what else I don't mind parting with.

Sold several PS4s new in box for $320-360 each. Sold Switches for $400 each. I might be scalping but this new market is proving lucrative finally used up my $5000 Gamestop and $3000 Best Buy credit recently and only have 2 more PS4s to sell. Will buy some more if I get the opportunity.

If you spot any used Switches not lite buy them if they are $300 or less easy $100 profit.

PS4 Pros are in stock on Playstation Direct and take 5-7 days to arrive at least for me easy $70 profit. Best Buy, Gamestop and Playstation Direct have regular PS4s for $300. Switch Lites are available at Best Buy and Gamestop and can net a $10 profit at least in my area not worth the risk and effort to me.

IIRC it was a couple years ago when GS was giving like double credit on things. People were buying games brand new for like $10, opening them, and trading them to GS for $30+

I feel like Plants vs. Zombies was one of those games that gave maximum credit.

Division 2 $5 to $15, the B2G2 one was good getting games that trade in for $30-35+30% for $18 each, Assassin's Creed Odyssey from Best Buy $9.99 or was it $14.99 to $25+30%, the other B2G2, the B4/20 and so many more. Just come in at the right time and you can easily walk out doubling your credit every once in a while. I spend at least 1-10 hours a month at least not recently doing so but I think I am done. I think the gravy train is over. When things start to open up again I may start going at it again but I just think it is all over. Some people also trade stuff from Gamestop to Amazon but I don't like the idea of getting rejections and getting stuck with something.

That too. I'd refuse to shop at a local place like that. A lot of local places have this mentality that since it's a local business, you have to like/support them over Wal Mart. But just cause you're a local business doesn't mean you're not a fudging douche.

Not a path I'd take, but hey if you like it, cool. As for the meat, we only bought 1lb and that's the first time we had since this crap all started. Was more shocked that they had beef at all vs. being overly concerned about the price.

We did vegetarian for about 18 months. It wasn't bad and the food was good.. it just became too much time in the kitchen making the meals. Plus you pretty much give up the option of getting any "quick" fast food meals as the vegetarian options or limited or just plain unhealthy.

@sa330206 My wife and I both are big fans of plenty of meats - beef, steak, ham, turkey, chicken, pork, etc. that we couldn't and wouldn't want to give that up. I've got no issues with those who go another route, means more meat for us cool smile
I've also heard about how going vegetarian or even the more 'strict' vegan route makes things slower and more complicated to get/make meals. We're bigger fans of quick easy and yes less healthy meals. Granted we try to avoid 'fast food' places as they are obviously pretty terrible for you, at least if you go to them too frequently.

I always found it dumb how "collectors" would dog about a digital re-print or re-print on a different system would cause the game sitting on their shelf that they have no interest in selling to "lose value". You should be glad more people can now play it. I remember this happened with Valkyrie Profile... And holy crap I just looked up the current price for it. Crazy.

People are stupid. I've seen this about Magic cards too. There are 33 results on tcgplayer for Birds of Paradise (so 33 different printings) but yet the Alpha version still goes for over $2,000. Original versions tend to always be collectible.

I'm sure people were flipping out over the Tarmagoyf reprints. With totally different artwork and card style to boot.

Yeah people always complain, it's dumb. They could abolish the reserve list tomorrow and it wouldn't make a dent. The real reason they don't is because they don't want old formats to be more accessible because Standard makes them the most money and sells packs.

I've quit MtG twice. It's just a giant money dump to me.
