I really enjoyed Halo 5's campaign and I'm itching for more. Hopefully Infinite is a huge long open world game like it looks.

I enjoyed Halo 5's campaign, but it was probably my least favorite of the series. I'm not sure how I feel about Infinite's campaign being "open world", what would that even look like for an FPS?

It's just a way for Bioware to get some revenue and not look like fools until they release something, so crapty upscale is probably right.
Bleed_DukeBlue

* 12-Jan(#13)"The Legendary Edition will not be a full remake of the Mass Effect games, but rather an attempt to "modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form." It will include all singleplayer base content and DLC from the Mass Effect trilogy, "plus promo weapons, armors, and packs--all remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD." It's not clear whether multiplayer will be supported by the re-release, but hopefully it will: Mass Effect 3's online co-op component was excellent."
I'm cool with it though. The DLC is really expensive to buy now, so I think it's still worth it. Also, it's going to be $59.99 not $69.99. It's already available for preorder at that price.
Johnny

12-Jan(#15)Well to be fair, $20 per game with upscaled graphics is good. I'll buy it.

13-Jan(#23)Meh, the only Ubisoft stuff I like is Far Cry. But it's about the only Ubisoft series I like. I imagine if I played other Ubisoft games I'd probably get that open world burnout with Far Cry but 100+ hour Assassin's Creed games sound awful. Last time I put 100+ into a Single Player game was P3:FES

As someone who loved the last EA single player SW game, a GaaS game sounds terrible to me. But I just don't like GaaS games in general. I think the only one I've ever been able to play for any period of time was Destiny 2 in its early stages. I can't even stand that now. If it was a regular open world game, I'd probably play it. Even with the growing map barf they keep putting in games.
I'm also still salty that other single player star wars game was scrapped because they couldn't figure out how to turn into a gaas game. Star Wars 1313.
Kommie

13-Jan(#25)GaaS is certainly an awful genre that's slowly dying.

Warzone is free to play right? you don't have to buy CoD 17 right? That's basically a Free 2 Play game. GaaS games charge you full price and then thrive on micro transactions.
theJaw

13-Jan(#34)Very pumped for the concept of an open world SW game. Any developer is capable of making a good game given the time, direction and resources, so I'm willing to give Ubisoft the benefit of the doubt until I see something that makes me feel otherwise. Cautiously optimistic about it.

I'm talking about like Cold War.
I still don't see the issue if it's not pay to win or pay for features
theJaw

* 13-Jan(#37)In my opinion, if a game is released as a complete piece (full story/campaign, satisfying gameplay mechanics, etc), then there's nothing wrong with GaaS features on it. It's only a problem for me if 1) the game is incomplete upon release and the GaaS stuff is just to pad it out or 2) the GaaS offers in-game advantages for multiplayer to give players an artificial foot up. For example, Square's Avengers game felt incomplete and stuffed with a whole lot of the same mission just re-skinned, so GaaS in that game just comes off as a money sink for more of the same. On the other hand, if Spider-man PS4 or Jedi Fallen Order were to offer a few extra missions + costume upgrades and whatnot, I'd probably be inclined to splurge a bit on it.
It's easy to be cynical about GaaS because there definitely have been those developers who have taken advantage of it in the past, but again, if the game is a complete experience upon release then GaaS isn't an issue to me. There's also something to be said about the fact that there are plenty of gamers who openly accept and want GaaS in certain games in order to continue the gaming experience they enjoy. They aren't being duped or scammed, they willingly spend money to get a bit more content. If the game is up front about this stuff, was a complete experience without that stuff, and people willingly want to pay for that stuff, I don't see much wrong with it.

That sucks. As a big fan of the series of course I'll still play it, but now I don't feel like I need it on day one anymore.
I really thought that was the main reason they were keeping it in first person.
On their stat tracking site it shows over 1 million players played it in PS VR (14.42% of all players) and I thought that was a big enough number that they'd for sure include it in RE8 as well.
edit: and I just watched the trailer for Resident Evil RE:Verse. Gross. Nobody asked for that. The number of dislikes is more than the number of likes on the RE YouTube page.

This is false. I only use the PS5 controller and it works fine with all PS4 games. Infamous Second Son works fine and it uses the touch pad, Sackboy uses the motion like tilting the controller. PS5 controller works fine for both. However you can't use the PS4 controller on any PS5 game I've tried so far.
