No, but you can play it on your 3DS since it's backwards compatible. It's in the Wii U shop digitally.

happy to see this hoping its going to lead to the other games never before released here to get done as well, but they really all already have great translation patches. If these are taking any resources away from IS to make FE17 id assume they focus on that.

Just beat the second temple in Spirit Tracks. So far, I'm enjoying this one even more than Phantom Hourglass. The music is much better, and while the boat had more flexibility in movement, I much prefer land travel over water travel, due to the ocean being so boring to look at.

Just started spirit tracks. I had a sealed copy I traded someone here maybe a year back. (After trading my original of course, DOH!. I think I just got a little too trigger happy with selling games).

Looks like my FE special edition came in, and I have to say it's gorgeous! The artbook (the real reason I wanted it) is nice and meaty, and the other pack-ins really harkened back to the NES days and reminded me of them, down to little detail in the manual. And the mock cart... I expected a standard grey plastic shell, but this is a nice heavy plastic display cart- something I actually would show! Topping off the whole package was the mini NP insert, with the inside reminding me of the issues of the 90s... man, it makes me feel so old and nostalgic...

Ok so help a kevster out, i want to begin the process to stream playing retro games on twitch, I have an older tv, I assume i need to save up for a retrotink next? 2X Multiformat?

The Multiformat is best for PS2-era games because it supports 480p passthrough. If you're going to focus on stuff that's older than that, you should probably get the Pro.

Never played the Turrican games before but they look pretty good.

I have fond memories of Super Turrican. My grandparents bought it for me when I was recovering in the hospital after tonsil removal surgery in the 3rd grade. I spent a couple days mostly sleeping, eating soup and ice cream, and playing that.

Happy New Year RTT! 2020 was kinda crap eh? Just a little bit.

Though it was probably a good year for game playing. For me, it was the opposite actually. Kids staying home meant I have near zero free/alone time. And in the second half of the year, we spent all of our free time looking for a new place to move to. Now that things are wrapping up, we have finally moved(though still settling in), I'm hoping 2021 will be a new start, and for everyone as well.

I played a crap ton of good games this year. No kids weeee.

Yeah well I don't have kids but I have a bunny and she has chewed many of many charging cables in half. So I may need more time to finish
Spirit Tracks BUT IMMA DO IT.
She's already gone through 2 DS charging cables and I'm sure I have more but looking through everything is a total slog.

I am looking forward to new systems this year and retro games. I did beat some games most out of order or not gotm but it's been a weird year and I just kinda stopped caring as much I maybe should have.

Happy New Year, everyone. While this year was a challenge in nearly every aspect, it was a good year personally for retro gaming. I picked up a number of fun new toys, improved my gaming and capture setup, and played through a number of my all-time favorites that I hadn't played in decades. It was fun ride and an effective way to distract myself from the rest of the world as it collapsed into a pile of overcooked couscous.

On that note, here's the final tally for the January 2021 Game of the Month:

Being based on an arcade original, Jackal is a fairly short game. Even before you consider the number of the arcade version was ported via emulation, Jackal has been released on a number of platforms, despite being best known for its NES port. Should you decide to explore some of these less-travelled ports, you shall be handsomely rewarded.

Play through Jackal on one platform before February 1 to earn the Jackal Squad badge.
