Got a Switch, must play games? I prefer RPGs, Metroidvania, Soulslike, action/adventure. Anything with a bit of a challenge.
Here's a list of things I'm thinking of getting:
The Witcher 3
Cosmic Star Heroine
Hyper Light Drifter
I'm mostly looking to play games on it for portability, I've already played DS1/TW3 on console and it's more to replay. I honestly don't remember much about TW3, I beat it and was like, I guess that was okay? I wasn't blown away by it like everyone else was. Maybe a replay could change my mind but it's more so on low priority for me.
Is Crash Team Racing better/worse than MK8D? Never understood the appeal of Smash.

Played those on other consoles, Axiom Verge would have been better if the music wasn't pure crap.

Oh yeah, I think I remember you saying that in another thread. I thought the soundtrack was amazing.
The Messenger was amazing though.
Zelda BOTW (if you want a real challenge, get the DLC and start on Master Mode)
Fire Emblem Three Houses

Might get this one, the Gold Edition is $19.99. Not big on SRPG but it looks simple and fun enough, that can get hard apparently.

A few levels later on in the game can get more challenging and the special stages were actually very difficult. I 100%'d the game and it became incredibly difficult towards the end with the post game content. Loved every minute of that game though. Best thing Ubisoft has made in years.
For solo play:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2. Super Mario Odyssey
3. Luigi's Mansion 3
4. Fire Emblem Three Houses
5. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
6. Pokémon Sword/Shield
7. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
8. Yoshi's Crafted World
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
4. Overcooked / Overcooked 2
5. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze
6. Snipperclips: Cut it out, together!
7. Super Mario Party
8. Kirby: Star Allies
Most of these to be Nintendo exclusives. I wouldn't consider any of the ports "must-have" since PC is a better experience, but I've gotten LA Noire, Stardew Valley, Crash N'Sane Trilogy, Rayman Legends, Scribblenauts Megapack, Sonic Mania, Celeste, Wargroove, and Sega Genesis Classics, and enjoy all of them. I've also heard good things about the ports for Dark Souls, Witcher 3, Skyrim, Ghostbusters, and Friday the 13th.
As good as Hollow Knight was, I played it earlier this year on PS4
I would second Octopath traveler. If you like SRPG then fire emblem and Mario rabbids too

Heard this one was incredibly easy. Is it?

Yeah somewhat it's really fun game it's bit like Pokémon in a way but beautiful graphic
Dragon Quest XI if you haven't already played it. Aggelos is a great Metroidvania style game. And yeah, Octopath Traveler as someone mentioned.
Ori and the Blind Forest
Hotline Miami Collection
Blaster Master Zero 1&2
Tried to limit the list to the genres you said.
YS 8, Dragon Quest XI, Octopath Traveler, Golf Story, Mario/Rabbids
Is any of this helping you Kommie? Based on your responses it sounds like not really. Then again most of these threads usually go like this.
It's helping. lots of games I've already played mentioned, Hollow Knight, The Messenger, Axiom Verge, Shovel Knight. Forgot about the Grandia re-release so I added that to my wishlist. So far I got Celeste and Mario + Rabbids.
I'd start downloading demos and playing those before dropping $ on digital games you're stuck with if you don't like them.
What systems have you owned this and last gen? Of those what games did you enjoy that are available on Switch? What didn't you enjoy?
The Switch is largely a 1st party, then indies, then port console. Like the other consoles, not a ton of 3rd party exclusives.
I have PS4, and a gaming PC. I'm mostly interested in first party / indie stuff, ala Celeste, Iconoclast, Astral Chain and I've tried some demos and most of the stuff I'd like to demo, doesn't have one, like Astral Chain. I did download the Octopath Traveler demo. Still on the fence with BotW, never really liked Zelda games.
Most people don't like BotW as they claim it's not a Zelda game: no real dungeons, little direction, breakable weapons, etc. In reality it's a game about exploring and discovery, and in true open world fashion just seeing what you can do.
Heard many great things about Ori and there is a demo for that unless you played it on PC. I just picked it up from the Thanksgiving eshop sale.
Yup, played Ori on Xbox GP.
Have u tried Children of Morta? A sweet little indie that's top down. It's like a mix of Zelda, Dead cells, binding of Issac
