Games usually stick around for about a year unless they're 1st party and then they're on there forever. You can look to see when the game will be removed most of the time by selecting the game and it should say when its going to be available thru, or at least what month it was added and then just assume that it will be removed 1 year from that point. If you like a game thats on GP then you get 20% off of it, and if you want any of the DLC then its 10% off. that applies to every game.

Looks like we may be seeing more of Control at GDC. They just released a new gameplay demo. Looks pretty good. I like the whole telekinesis power spin. Seems like Remedy is sticking with it's supernatural theme from Quantum Break. Any game that makes me have force powers and makes me feel like a Jedi is A-OK by me. yes

MS Rewards is having a sale to where you can get 3-months of GP for 13,500 points, pretty sweet deal. I was able to redeem 15 months worth so I should be good for a while.

Damn, I'm not even sure how you get points rapidly. I only have like 1,300. It says I can do surveys and stuff to boost it up, but I probably won't get anywhere close to 13,500 before the deal ends on GP. It's a shame too, I could use it since my GP is gonna expire in a month.

I get my points by using Bing and I get all the daily points to keep the streak going and then I get the mobile points every night right before bed. I have 3 years of XBL already and I've not paid for GP for about a year, now I won't have to pay any more for 1.25 years more.

just note that the guy that made the video is counting wrong, it should be 1 instead of two K presses you should count after the first k press.

You don't need to use a front-end to reduce input lag. Most emulators have extremely low input delay regardless, and all of them have settings to reduce it at the cost of emulation performance (buffers make sure crap's good before it hits your eyeballs and speakers). And we're literally talking tens of milliseconds here, not something realistically measurable or noticeable in the grand scheme of things.

One thing you will NOT get around is the encode/decode time between the PC and the Xbox, which will be substantial, even on a local network, assuming there's extremely low delay input to OS (multiple data streams so inputs aren't tied to the A/V stream since they don't need to be). And if you don't have a hardwired Gigabit infrastructure end to end, you're really going to be taxing yourself to get something usable. I'd like to try it out but I'd have to interrupt my roomie's evening routine to do so, and frankly all I'd do is play Yakuza anyways. raspberry

so far it seems like Squeenix's GP offerings are its slightly less successful and the kind of non rpgs? but you never know it could happen I suppose. id think they would be less likely to add the longer rpgs til they are a little older so as not to hurt sales, at this point it doesn't hurt Deus Ex and apparently JC4 wasn't doing so well anyway.

That's right, I guess Square wants to weed out all the games that haven't met sales expectations and seeing as though FF games are a hot topic now, with the remasters and all, it probably wouldn't make sense to let them onto GP right away.

Probably won't see a new FF game on it since its SE's best selling franchise. These other games we probably will which is evident with what we've gotten added recently. No complaints from me, especially seeing as how I haven't really enjoyed a FF game for quite a while now.

There is a noticeable difference, try playing games like punch out or the old mario games i noticed the lag right away. retroearch makes it easy to improve that and also to add a nice shader.

The front ends like RA aren't doing anything the emulators can't do themselves. RA is not making your input delay go away, it's telling the emulator to do it, which it can do itself. If anything RA is always going to be less robust than the emulator it hides behind closed curtains.

Today Spencer said that right now XCloud is running off of speeds as low as 5mbps and with 10ms of lag. Xcloud also has the advantage of not needing any additional coding to get a game into the cloud network, if a dev makes a game for Xbox then its natively compatible with XCloud right off the bat.

And that was just their 1080p stuff too. Now, I don't know what MS's resolution is that only required 5mbps, but if its 1080p as well then they're going to be far ahead of Google right off the bat in terms of potential market penetration.

I don't know what to think of Sekiro right now. The last 2 games I've played have been 75 hours and 40+ hours, so I just don't think I'm in the mood for a From Soft game at the moment. Im more then excited for this title. It will be a whole nother fighting system to master. I saw yesterday on reddit that a guy said that after 7 hours he just beat the first main boss. Took him 10 tries. He also said he had killed 3 mini bosses and still had 3 other mini bosses that he couldn't beat.
Some people were trying to say the game will be short, but with at least 10 main bosses and countless dozens of mini bosses, I will get at least 50 hours from first playthru

Its rumored to be hitting a sub $200 price point. I wouldn't be surprised if its aiming for $150. Their physical to digital trade-in program is pretty cool too. I don't have much interest in it, but I could definitely see some pretty good potential with this thing even its just a media streaming box since even something like the Roku Ultra is $100 and can't play Xbox games.

Brad Sams said that, from what hes seen, it will be a sub $200 console. Its also probably why they kept the HDD at 1TB because if they put any more storage into it and the price would jump pretty quick. I think that MS is also testing the waters with this console to get an idea of where the industry is right now with digital adoption.

ya especially since they are supposedly planning for the next gen xbox to launch with a variant like this too. I would consider these lower cost digital only consoles for the kids, digital sharing makes it where they can play co-op or both play at the same time with digital sharing, only problem is when they are both playing im locked out of my xbox library, they need a better family plan, it should be easy to enough to tell that all the consoles are on the same home network. the kids haven't used a disc in forever and I do probably only 10% of the time maybe less

Less than $200 is what they're going for, I've heard its supposed to be less than the $199.99 console. And the issue I see here is we have one person saying it needs to be less than $199.99 then another one saying it needs to have a min. of 3tb. I don't think we can have both of those options, we pretty get one, and the one MS seems have to chosen to go with is cheaper console which is I think is the correct decision since USB storage is ridiculously cheap, far cheaper than if MS added in more store out of the box. If they put 3-5tb in then we would probably be looking at it hitting $250 or $300 and then people would complain that its too expensive and aren't interested.

I hope so, we have 4 xb1's and only being able to use 2 at a time can be a bother, I have plenty of other stuff I can play while they're on their Xboxes, but setting one kids as the home and then the other kid having me signed on in addition to himself so he can play means if I sign in he gets knocked off, and since "mine" isn't the home xbox I cant play offline, so it would be nice if they could work that out.

I cannot fault them because Steam has turned into a pile of dookie lately, my PC friend was telling me. Plus, I watch Jim Sterling pretty avidly and he posts numerous videos bashing Steam for not having a good filtering system of trolling user created content and having a bad algorithm feature for sorting games. Meaning a game like Control, which may be considered close to premium quality will refresh on the Steam store next to a game like Rape Day lol it just makes no sense and will turn off buyers thinking their game is associated with smut. I guess it's not the PC store it once was and the new kids on the block, Epic, are reaping in the benefits of Steam's flaws and screw ups.

That's what happens when one company gets to run around relatively unchecked for so long; they get lazy and complacent. That why when I see people wanting a console manufacturer to exit the market so they can have it all to themselves I question if they know how horrible it would be if any of the "Big 3" got to run the show. It would be a disaster.

It's the same on the Switch eShop. Now when I buy something that could be considered a hidden gem I try to spread the word about it on as many forums as I can before it gets further buried among the crap Nintendo allows to infest the eShop.

I'm staying loyal to Steam either way. I downloaded the Epic Games client, but it's just like EA Origin and uPlay where I'll only boot it up when they're giving away a free game. Steam is the only one I'll spend money on, just because I want my library that I actually care about to all be in one place. It could change in the future but for now Steam has done me no wrong.

Sekiro is getting really good reviews but the digital foundry video seemed to be saying that it runs terrible on the base consoles, like 15fps territory. They also only got the show the first 2 hours of the game, so that may be part of the issue, but then again, From Soft has never been at making their games run smoothly. Kind of disappointing because for people with the OG X1.

Microsoft is going to start something called "ID@Xbox Game Pass" where they showcase indie games coming to Game Pass. I think its a great opportunity for some of those smaller games to get some exposure when they may have otherwise just gotten lost in the XBL store. Yeah, the good thing about the OG Xbox games for people who don't like them being added, is that there isn't too many of them left to add, and the ones that are left are like Panzer Dragoon Orta, Ninja Gaiden, KoToR 2, and Black. After that they either need to add more BC games to the catalog or go back to two X1 games and 2 X360 games.

I think out of all the major X360 games left there's only very few major ones they haven't added I think. I am still hanging onto hope that one day these games will be BC, since they are all that remain in my collection that have not gone BC to date:

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Condemned 2: Bloodshot
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Max Payne 3
Mortal Kombat 9
Ninja Gaiden 3
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
X-Men Origins: Woverine

I would imagine the only really challenging game to add to their library might be X-Men because of licensing issues, but the rest, especially Enslaved since MS owns Ninja Theory now, is possible.

Its really fun. I bought it on a whim and played through it probably 5 times. Its short, just about 4-5 hours which makes replays much more appealing. This game reminded me a lot of Capcom in their prime when they had Clover Studios making crazy Japanese games before they shut that studio down.

Also, Monolithsoft really wants Condemned 2 as a BC game, so hopefully MS makes it happen.

I miss those Clover Studios days for sure. And didn't Sega publish both Condemned games? And isn't the first Condemned BC? Weird to me that part 2 isn't to this day.

Yeah, they're telling people to bug MS about it and hopefully their publisher (Sega) and MS can work together to make it happen.

I thought Condemned 2 was nowhere near as good as the first one. Do publishers/devs get some kind of bonus if MS decides to get their game on the BC list?

Nope, they just get their games more potential sales since it will now appear on X1's store and what not. When RDR became BC their sales went up 6000% and one of the CoD games saw similar increases.

I loved Condemned 2. Both were great, though. And I just retweeted and commented so here's hoping to the power of public opinion. yes

ive still got about 8 or 10 360 games id love to see added so i can not have just this small shelf of 360 since they aren't bc or available on digital. but they are much more niche and i don't think they'll ever worry about stuff like magna carta 2, operation darkness, spectral force 3, N3 and N3-2, infinite undiscovery and stuff like that

I was going to buy technomancer as it was on gamepass and disappeared plus it is relatively but now I don't have to. Game looked like it could be fun in a janky budget title way. I was thinking it was outlast 2 for a second and was wondering why people were not hyped for it, now I know why, it looks like a buggy mess of disappointment.

It is a bit janky with weird save point but it had moments where it was pretty good. Seemed to have lots of strategy involved or the fights would get difficult if you went about them the wrong way.

This is an amazing list. Would totally love each of these.
