Surge came out today. so far not bad. very nioh and bloodborn feel as in fast combat. switching limbs takes some getting used to.

Phantom Dust remaster is supposed to be out today for free.

injustice came out today as well. grabbed that on my ps4 though,

GP was pretty good from the start but I didn't have a ton of interest in it at first but I got a 14 day free trial and decided to use it one day and I've been a member ever since. Its an incredible value and its saves me probably $60/month easily. I got 3 years of gold from using Bing points and followed that up with 3 years of GP also with using bing points so I've not even paid for any of that stuff for over a year now. I love GP though and its especially good for people on a tight budget.

i feel like we get our money from GP as well. i played the outer worlds on PC with ultimate game pass and plan to play gears 5 at some point and my kids play sea of thieves with their friends and they have messed around with some of the other games here and there. they've used it more than i have but i'll use it more myself now that is has the pc option.

UGP is pretty sweet. I jumped in after E3 when you could convert all of your Live to UGP for a buck. Bought 2 years of Live (had 9+ months remaining at the time already) and so far I've played at least 2 dozen games from the offering, beat 3-4 and purchased 2 before they left the service.

With a 4TB external drive connected to my X1X I almost have too many options on games to play, but I've been playing ones that I likely otherwise wouldn't have bothered with. Plus having some to play on PC is nice too.

I did a similar thing.

Got my One X, then bought 3 years of Gold for $120, then turned that into GPU. So it's about $3 a month for GPU, which I've already played Gears 4, Gears 5, Outer Worlds (currently), have aspirations for Battle Toads, Halo Infinite, and other IPs that come out.

It's definitely a great deal, especially when you don't pay the full on price.

If people bought Gears 5 and The Outer Worlds at retail upon launch, they would have spent $160 since Gears 5 on GP is Ultimate, so that month alone it has a pretty significant savings.

MS has an inside xbox event every month which just touches up on a few things, shows a few things, and have interviews with smaller developers. This is an expanded version of that and their biggest one of the year, but they keep the same format and the same hosts.

all the yakuza games coming to xbox is great, more people need to be able to play this stellar series. one of the best ever. great characters, a huge and deep world and plot that goes through all the games and goes through some great highs and great tragedies.

very important to play in order as the games will spoil the ones that come before, and the narrative contines through each.

this isnt everything that is happening at X019 is it? isnt it an all weekend long event or is the inside xbox today just summarizing everything and they'll go into detail later?

Its not taking resources away from what the other team is working on. The people working on this game have been working on it for a while and they hired on something like 100 more staff to work on the other projects. What made MS pull the trigger on buying the company is the game that the majority of the staff is currently working on but it probably won't be shown until E3.

Tons of side missions. They're really short quests, but there's so damn many of them in each game and they're really cool and quirky and most don't feel like filler which is nice. Yakuza 0 alone had like 50 or so I believe.

Life is Strange 2 is already on there. Has been since the first episode released at the start of the year. And they add each episode the month after it comes out. So I have no idea why they announced that. It was very odd.

Also I'm pissed I just bought FF12, 13, 13-2 and lightening returns. Every time this happens. This year I bought the three Fallout games, then they got added to GP. Same with Metro and a couple of others. I should just stop buying games all together.

They are adding Halo Reach which isn't on GP yet. Its BC but its not been remade like the others were.

gp has greatly changed how I look at buying games. If a game seems like it will end up on GP I won't bother buying it. DS3 and Rage 2 were both games I knew would make their way to the service so I've held out on those.

I don't think that games from Ubisoft or EA likely will since they have (or are trying to create) their own streaming services, but games from other devs there is a much higher likelihood of seeing their games on GP. Really makes not not have much interest in guying new games, not much of a reason to at this point.

I'm mostly serious about what I said, us being a game trading site and all.

But, Game Pass really exceeded my expectations.

I will do whatever I can to extend my GP for as long as possible, might even eventually pay MSRP for what they offer.

(There are just so many ways to extend it cheaply, like Taco Bell, and currently the Discord offer)

Sold off my PS4 Pro in a fit of rage when Vudu told me it wasn't a 4K streaming device, and I knew where I was headed. I know they're a hundred fifty cheaper in a couple weeks, and I coulda waited, but I didn't wanna wait. Picked up the new Gears 5 X model (very cool design actually; layered skull underneath the faux ice, looks wicked, custom turn-on and shut-off sound effect as well), started installing it, immediately shocked and pleased with the Gamepass selection. Snagged Bloodstained, Dead Cells, Enter the Gungeon, Eternal, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Slay the Spire, Path of Exile (to mess with, probably rather play on PC) and Superhot and downloaded Fortnite so my roommate would shut up, got to play Bloodstained for the first time on X and that's really all I needed to see to know I was home. Once the exclusives are out of the way, PS4 Pro is a real bummer. The X is sooooooo good. Even the controller feels better to me, I'm not sure why everyone loves the DS4 so much, I hates it.

Nice to actually have a 4K console finally. Considering picking up Star Wars, interested to see how hot it runs, resolution and framerate. Expecting actual 4K 30 I guess (maybe 1440p?), which would be fine, the PC requirements actually sound pretty rough to get 144hz at 1440p.

I just finished up Borderlands 3 yesterday so I jumped into GP to see what I wanted to play on a nice slow Sunday morning. Found some weird toy train building sim, so I downloaded that and played through it real quick, it was actually pretty fun but light on content. After I had got all the achievements for it I remembered that Bloodstained made its way to GP so I went and downloaded that and have been playing it for the last hour or so. Its really nice to have a service that you can just jump in, look at a diverse library of games, and pick something that you're in the mood to play. I think after this I may give Gears 5 a spin then possibly Rage 2 after that.

The X is a very well build console. Most of the time its on I don't even remember its in my room because of how quiet it runs. I remember the 360 was so loud it was like someone was flying a drone around the house.

I haven't been too impressed with the last few months of GP but when I think back about some of the AAA titles I otherwise would have spent, even if it's just one or two...it pays for a year of the service (even at full price). And it gives a hefty amount of random games for the kiddo to try.

I've been wanting to try Rage 2 so I'm happy to see that...but it made me realize that I haven't beaten Gears 5 yet. And that's been a blast, and one of the best looking games on the X. To that point, I love that with GP I don't have to rush through anything to try to trade it before the price plummets. My issue is now with managing hdd space.

External HDD is cheap, tons of deals around this time. I picked up a 4TB for like $65.

Just want to praise the Xbox One X for having native 1440p, it looks beautiful without needing to play on a bigger 4K screen. I love me some gorgeous close up gaming.

Rage 2 is kinda meh. Lots of repetition and story is just ugh. Why bother? It's a perfect example though of why every game doesn't need to be an open world because the open world of Rage 2 is quite deserted and dead. I wish it was more like The Outer Worlds. Smaller world, more condensed but loaded with missions, lore and content. Then again, I wish many open world games were like The Outer Worlds because that game is rapidly becoming my new GOTY contender.

In this case, I may bother simply because it's "free". I otherwise would not have bothered, but since it's in a service I'm paying for, why not? Just not right now, got plenty to do, even after I hit 60 on my two toons in WoW.

I mean if it's technically free than sure ya got nothing to lose. I just found it kinda lame and boring. Definitely should have not been a sandbox game with not enough content to fill it with. Game is short too. Roughly 6hrs-ish making it an ideal GP run through length.

I just rushed the story. About 6-7 hours and you're done. Super quick if you just focus on the story and whatever side missions there are only adds on a few more hours to that so overall it's not a very long game nor should it be seeing as though it's quite uninteresting and generic as they come but the way it's designed fools you into thinking it has a ton of content being in a pretty big open sandbox world, which it does not.

I here yah on the toons, I have been taking it slow since classic launched. My Druid is 48 and my mage 22.... but I am still tempted to start a shaman, it just sucks that the classes I like to play.. more so the way I want to play them Feral DPS on the Druid and Enhancement on the Shaman suck in vanilla. I suppose I have the "glass cannon" mage raspberry

Anyway, the guys that did Rage 2 did Mad Max? man I kinda wanted to play Rage 2... I really wanted to like Mad Max, they did some things well but I got bored and have not gone back. I am stoked to play outer worlds but I am going to wait for boxing day deal usually 50% off... though I kinda want to wait for it on switch... I wonder how it will hold up?

Way before The Outer Worlds, when Rage 2 first came out, I wanna say May or June? But now every type of open world RPG like game that I play after The Outer Worlds is going to have huge shoes to fill for me because that game is becoming a serious GOTY contender for me. It's just so damn good.

Oh okay, I was thinking that maybe you played it after The Outer Worlds so by in comparison it was trash but since you have played it before TOW then the game is probably just kind of trash even when not compared to anything good recently. I just got done playing BL3 (Bastards included, like, zero post game content for some stupid reason), so I don't know how Rage 2 would compare.

Yeah I played it when it came out also. Its very much a cookie cutter of mad max but without the gated progress between areas, and even more garbage ambient filler nonsense that is boring to do after you've done each one a couple times. And the map is really big, and the story stuff is very far apart. Their design decision was, hey if we put these really far apart on the map so it takes a while to get there, they will do all this stuff on the way and we will have tricked them into thinking there is a lot to do here. Even though they will just do the same five or six fluff missions a thousand times.
