new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PalPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I received a complete Streets of Rage 2 today that I bought a few days ago. I asked them if it was in good condition and they said it was. I got it today and the front insert/case had horizontal slices down the middle and it was a not for resale copy. For $16 I'll keep it but you'd think they would mention that when I asked.

Game types that are okay in a bubble mailer, provided it's not too tight (this is a whole different can of worms): dvd/blu case games, single regular size jewel case games, loose carts.
Game types that require a box: everything else.

Someone needs to slap this guide all over Ebay. Lol.

I've still got a Non-TMSS boxed Genesis, but I like it too much at the moment. And I don't have a Model 1 SCD to go with it.

Their prices are probably slightly under Ebay on average, he expects the top stuff will be gone tomorrow. This store gets games like PDS and Stadium Events and sells them the same day, they don't keep a showcase of overpriced games that aren't really for sale.

I made a list of stuff I get dibs on because we're pinball buds though love

I feel somewhat responsible for this trade, a nice three way trade, Shining Wisdom was traded toward Snatcher! And I see you guys hooked up for a pretty awesome exchange since you've been trying to unload that TG16 and Snatcher just happen to need 1! So awesome when everything fits.

For those of you that are wondering about the things @Lunar is including in his MYSTERY BOXES ... here is box #3....

image [full]

For those of you that can't see ... here is the breakdown:
Albert Odyssey (SF - C/M/B)
Ghost Sweeper Mikami: Joreishi ha Nice Body (SF - C/B)
Keith Courage (TG16 - C/B)
After Burner II (PCE - C/M/B)
Thunder Blade (PCE - C/M/B)
Advanced VG (PCE-CD - C/M/B)
Black Black (GBA - C/M/B)
Paladin's Quest (SNES - C)
Three Dirty Dwarves (Saturn - C)
Saturn Bomberman Fight (Saturn - C/M/B)
Modded(?) SNES Controller (looks like a US case with Super Fami/EU buttons)

My cat, Norman, was not included in the box. (but isnt he cute?)

A few years ago almost nothing in this box would have interested me, but at this point, everything is right up my alley. Both Super Famicom games fit my criteria for collecting for that system (must not have come out in the US, and include a box). The PCE games fit my criteria for collecting for that system (must not have come out in the US, include box/manual, ideally be weird). I finally have a cart to go with my Paladin's Quest manual. Three Dirty Dwarves finally comes off my want list after being on their for years (now just to hunt down a case/manual). Saturn Bomberman Fight will go nicely with my Saturn Bomberman import, now I just need one of those sweet Bomberman multitaps. And I needed a "Super Famicom" controller to replace the broken ones I have in my system box (anyone need broken super famicom controllers?)

Black Black is the only thing I hadn't heard of (but looks like a weird ass rpg so there's nothing wrong with that), and at least half of the Lunar had a pretty solid idea I would be jazzed about.

All in all... I would say this was a great deal. yes Well worth the (no real) risk, for me at least.

But that is FUDGEED, for the record, that's a PAL Turbografx WITH a CD add-on AND a Japanese-to-Western HuCard adapter for the Arcade Pro card... placed on what I can only surmise is a completely unnecessary CD-ROM2 drive, unless what it's on top of isn't, actually, a CD-ROM add-on. And it's like, an AV Booster with some other random crap on the back. Unless the booster's really that fudging big

Just putting this out there ... I dont think those component cables work with the SNES mini. Only the original SNES.

I have a RGB modded SNES Mini right now that I use via Scart, I believe it should work. We will see!

According to the site:

Which versions of the Super Nintendo / Super Famicom will the SNES cable work with?

It will work with any original model Super Nintendo (SNS-001 / SNSP-001A) and Super Famicom (SHVC-001). The smaller SNES "mini" (Model No. SNS-101) does not directly work with the cable. It's possible it can work with SNS-101 units that have been modified with added RGB output capability, but there is no solution we official support at this time. We have a compatibility list on our SNES product page which you can refer to for details on supported SNES models.

Ah ... well then, there you go.

Needless to say, I did not read that fine print when I backed them on Kickstarter ... and was sad to see things not work right away when I finally got them in the mail.

They work just fine with my Super Fami thought

LMAO this thing is getting some good use. I got the one I sent to Lunar before I got my SD2SNES and now it's finding a good new home.

@Lunar Just know that if the cart had a super special chip it will have compatibility issues with the SD2SNES (eg SP1 and FX chips) . Saying this before you go off selling your MMx3

Yes, somewhat unfortunately. It's gonna need to find a new home. I've been trying to sell the TG16 and this was the best offer to come along. Since we don't collect NTSC saturn now, and we need a 2nd vehicle, I'm working on building funds for that. It's gorgeous and we don't really wanna let it go but it'll be fun to have had it while we did. :)
