I played this one for a few hours. Definitely a fun beat-em-up with some unique mechanics. (Hard to explain but just look at some reviews. You can't see the full game on a single play through.)

Speaking of Amazon, my card was charged for Super Mario RPG. Forgot that I preordered and that it was so close. Another game I won't be playing for a while. Would be an entirely different story if I hadn't played the SNES version on Wii several years ago.

I'm about to beat Advanced Wars Black Hole Rising remake so I'm just about ready for SMRPG. I'll have to put off Xenoblade 3 until after I beat SMRPGmake.

I'm a little late here, but regarding the Zelda movie...I was actually thrilled to find out it would be live action. I think animation was the right call for the Mario movie, but I wasn't that interested in an animated Zelda movie. I would LOVE to see one in live action though. I know there's potential for it to be bad, but it could also be really good. Personally, just seeing a real-world interpretation of the characters, Hyrule, enemies, etc, is going to be so cool, and worth it to me.

The guy who tried to do the Zelda movie via kickstarter, recently put his domain up for sale ... wonder if Nintendo will contact him.

I saw a few games in the Indie Direct that I may check out. I'll likely get them on Steam or PS5 instead though. A few of the ones I was most interested in were lumped in the sizzle-reel thing at the end. I would've rather have gotten more info and full trailers on them than some of the games they did focus on in the Direct, but it seems as an indie developer if you give the Switch version timed-exclusivity that will guarantee you a spot in the showcase part of the Direct.

Things that made me fast forward to the next game:

Procedurally Generated
Crafting and Farming
Roguelike

Indies are becoming just as awash in stale repetition as AAA studios.

I'm not much interested in Warriors games either, which is why I only got it on sale. I played Three Houses at launch lol. For what it's worth, the FE games supposedly involve a little more strategy than other musou games. I mostly enjoyed Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity, but that was mainly due to the Zelda skin.

So happy I got this for $60. Of course gonna open it right away and play on my wii with white controller and matching memory card haha.

Anyone else getting Mario RPG today? Completely forgot about my preorder because I didn't know when the game dropped, but it's apparently going to be here today. I never played too deep into the original SNES game but have fond memories of starting it, and I love me a good old school Square RPG, so I'm looking forward to it.

The lady also had an Amazon gift card and surprised me with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for Switch, which will also be showing up at some point today. I friggin love the Toad levels in 3D World and always wanted Captain Toad but just never got around to pulling the trigger. Looks like I didn't have to do that myself haha

On top of Wonder, now getting Mario RPG and Captain Toad a few weeks later is really scratching my Mario fanboy itch.

The Super Mario RPG remake was made on the Unity engine, so starting in January doesn't that mean Nintendo will have to start paying Unity a percentage for each copy sold? I wonder if they are using that engine for the Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario TTYD remakes too and if this will make them move away from that engine in the future?

Indeed. I think most professional Unity users will at least be looking into other Middleware engines.

Unity's lost so much trust within the dev community a lot of folks will be finishing their current projects and never touching Unity again.

The only way Unity could convince people it won't pull a stunt like this again is to dissolve the for profit company and turn all assets over to a respected non-profit foundation.

But they can't do that because they have too much debt and investors don't just want everything to vanish.

Playing Captain Toad before I dive into Mario RPG.

I love puzzle boxes and I love the Mario vibe, so Captain Toad is directly up my alley. It's fantastic. I love that you get the level, then you get the "Pixel Toad" challenge which is almost like a little Where's Waldo (another thing I love) element thrown in there, on top of the collectible items for ultimate replayability. Just super fun, I love it.

So satisfying to look at. We’re gonna need a bigger case.

I found some with plain designs instead of the garish and/or obviously unlicensed Nintendo images on them. So we'll see how that goes. Will save quite a bit of space at omgcon if I can bring 24 games in something the size of 1 or 2 actual game cases

Mario Kart 8 Dx out of the top 20 game sales in the US for the first time since its release 6 years ago. Pretty impressive.

Now Mario Kart 9 at Switch 2 launch next year Nintendo... make it happen.

Same. It's the only BF deal I've jumped on so far. Though Kirby Dream Land Deluxe at $29.99 was tempting. A lot of decent games on sale for around $20, so worth checking dekudeals if anyone is looking for anything. (Super Bomberman R 2, Afterimage, Moonscars, Ghost Song, Sonic Origins Plus..just to name a few that I've seen.)

Now I'm just waiting to see if Amazon or Best Buy will price match GS at $9.99 for Everybody's 1-2-Switch. (Shipping ruins any GameStop deals, in addition to everything else lol.)
