Surprised we don't have anything going on this topic. See if it goes anywhere, but I came here to ask for support on the Oculus/Quest.
Family got me a Quest 2 for my bday. I've been holding out for the next release and/or PSVR2, but eh, I'll take it!
Suggestions for best games to play on it?
I picked up a few accessories too:
- Strap with Battery and Carrying Case -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...- Fat Sweaty Man Visor -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...Any others I should be looking at?
Thanks!

23-Jul-2022(#65)I got Lucky's Tale on sale a bit ago and finally played a few levels. It's super simple and very, very, very easy but it's absolutely gorgeous and really charming. It's really relaxing to play and has been a nice pallet cleanser between other games. I really like VR platformers and this is quality, even if there's no real challenge.

* 26-Jul-2022(#69)Looks like just a price hike on 8/1. Weird.
Edit: Price increase of $100 + you get Beat Saber for free. More weird.

27-Jul-2022(#71)I'm glad I bought when I did then. I bought my Quest 2 over a week ago, but didn't get all the accessories until this past Monday. I now have the Bobovr strap, face shield with fan, and case. This thing is pretty sweet! I've only dabbled with a few of the apps and games so far, but I'm already happy with my purchase.

12-Aug-2022(#73)Bro, i'm telling you......Alien: Isolation with the VR mod........so easy to set up. You have to use a regular xbox style controller though. Your heart may not let you finish the experience haha.

God I loved that game. Experiencing that in VR would be a rush!

8-Sep-2022(#78)As some of you may know, I'm a huge Tetris fan. While I have Tetris Effect on my PS4, I've been disappointed in it in some ways, mainly how the playing field seems too distant and the bar showing the upcoming pieces is often obscured by the dazzling effects. I've been wanting to play it on my Oculus Quest 2, but I wouldn't purchase it because I refuse to play Tetris with an analog stick. Luckily, the other day, I found out that you can connect a PS4 controller to it! The game was on sale last night, so I bought it and spent the next three hours or so playing it.
Man, now this is the way that it was meant to be! The playing field is close and the effects do not hamper my view in any way. Now I can fully appreciate this game.

I don't think it works with most games. I tried a couple, but it just wasn't recognized. In the Oculus main menu, you can't use your analog sticks to navigate the menus. You have to point by maneuvering a cursor with your head and then pushing the X button on your controller. I only new that it worked with Tetris because I read a few posts somewhere online where people were talking about it.
It was easy to set up. I went into the oculus phone app and was able to set it up there. These two links were useful:

Is that the touch pad thingy on the controller? I have no idea.

That's how I am a lot of the time. I'd rather just ask you guys a lot of this stuff.

Thanks for the info! Dualsense is the PS5 controller, was wondering if it works similarly

You would think so, but I have no idea. From what I have read, it sounds like some XBox controllers are easiest to connect to it.

8-Sep-2022(#87)Yeah, I believe the v2 PSVR box did allow for HDR passthrough. But don't quote me on that, it's been awhile.
I find myself thinking about playing my Quest 2 more than I actually want to play it. I just really need to be in the right mood I guess. But I do always enjoy it. And I do keep my eye out for sales a lot.

8-Sep-2022(#88)Yeah. The version 2 one does have HDR passthrough.

21-Sep-2022(#92)A look at some of the new features of PS VR2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5L9Mvh7tAkDo any of the VR headsets on PC offer built-in rumble? That sounds like a feature that could either be awesome, or it's gonna take too long for devs to figure out how to use it right without causing potential headaches for the player.
I noticed RE 8 footage is included. I own Resident Evil VIII on PS4 but haven't played it yet. Now I'm just gonna wait and see if it is getting re-released on PS5 as a standalone VR game, or some kind of DLC expansion, or if the current version will get a free update that adds it. I almost expect it would be a re-release because Capcom really likes selling you their games over and over.
Either way, the first time I played RE 7 was in VR mode and after that decided I would never play it without VR, so I'm glad I waited so I can do the same for RE 8.

12-Oct-2022(#96)The Valve Index was $1k over 2 1/2 years ago when it came out. So $1500 isn't that crazy of a price if this is truly is a high-tier product. But I just don't think it is, or will sell well.
The Quest became popular because of the price and the vast game library...well, because of the price. Take away "the deal" and this new set is a big ask.

I think you’re really underestimating the whole pick up and play, standalone, wireless aspect

Having a PC makes that library as large as the Index.
