This, more than any other of his movies, looks like paintings.

I can't remember the specific painters name, but this shot
image

is an homage to a painter and I can't for the life of me remember who it is and it's killing me.

Every frame in this movie looks like a painting.

I think Anderson's art direction in his films are exquisite. But visually, this film looks more like a painting than his others.

I re-watched French Dispatch the other night and it shot up towards the top of his films. He is one of the most unique visual storytellers of the last ... gosh, I don't know - three or four decades.

We're only seeing half of the Barbie film in these trailers. Barbie and Ken are supposed to go to the real world, which I suspect will be the main story of the movie.

That's a gorgeous shot indeed. The more I see of the movie, the more I dig the visual style.

I can't wait to see it, personally. I also love the "alien panic" that took real world towns like Asteroid City by storm around the time that the movie is set. For some reason I find it super interesting and am really looking forward to seeing how Anderson tackles that subject matter. There's a reason I love games like Destroy All Humans! or shows like 3rd Rock from the Sun (though that was obv set in the 90s). There's just something about the "aliens among us" concept that tickles my fancy.

Also, happy birthday Sid.

The parents' reaction to his B in Spanish had me smirking.

A movie starring Nick Fury as the main character? Awesome.

But two things I was disappointed with about this trailer.

1, they don't show Nick Fury doing much of anything in the trailer (I'd like to see him break out some hidden skill or something)

2. He says "one last fight," perhaps alluding to this movie being the end of him. wry smile

@nonamesleft it’s actually another mini series to release on Disney+. They’re probably saving Fury’s action beats to see in the show itself.

Oh, a series, not a movie. Cool. Didn't notice that.

We don't know that much of Nick Fury's story. Maybe this will explore it a bit. I would think it should be an entertaining watch. He's fairly mysterious.

Ahsoka looks fantastic. Can't wait to revisit the characters from Rebels and that Thrawn tease got me pumped. I've been a Thrawn fan since he was introduced in the EU, or at least since I first read the original Thrawn Trilogy comics by Timothy Zahn.

And Indiana Jones looks really great too. Looks like they learned from the mistakes of Crystal Skull and are giving us a fairly old school-style Indiana Jones story. The de-aging in some of those shots is friggin wild, maybe the best use of that technology I've ever seen. And that music... never fails to get me a little dewy eyed.

Can't wait for both of those.

Just rewatched the Ahsoka trailer. The fact that she calls Thrawn the "heir to the Empire" got me giddy, I missed it the first time around.

The Thrawn Trilogy is still some of the best SW ever produced, and it's the main thing I ACTUALLY miss from the old EU (though I enjoy what they did with the character in Rebels). The first book in that trilogy was "Heir to the Empire", and it's the perfect moniker for Thrawn, so it was awesome to see that little nod in the trailer.

The Marvels ............. https://youtu.be/iuk77TjvfmE

I never watched the Ms. Marvel Disney + show but I'd be down to watch this in the theater.

check I loved WandaVision, and Monica Rambeau was part of the reason.
check I really enjoyed Ms. Marvel and am excited to see her return.
check While mid-tier on my MCU ranking list, I still enjoyed Captain Marvel for the most part, and am not one of the tough guy internet Brie Larson haters.

That said, the trailer is about 50/50 for me. I'm totally down to watch the movie of course, and it does look like it could be a lot of fun, but the trailer itself didn't FULLY sell me (he says, knowing he's auto-sold on these movies already). Still oughtta be a real good time, and without any true expectations, I could easily be pleasantly surprised.

New in-production trailer for HBO's spin-off of The Batman, The Penguin. It's short, but there's still more in-show footage than I'd have expected from a production trailer. Looks a bit like a darker Sopranos, and I still find it so hard to believe that's Colin Farrel playing the part. His eyes don't even look the same for some reason.

I loved WandaVision, but Monica Rambeau was just ok. She didn't really stand out in that show, IMO. That said, I'm excited to see more of what she can do in this movie.

I like Kamala and Iman, but the show fell pretty flat for me. I don't think that will matter for this movie though.

Surprisingly, I think I liked Captain Marvel even more than you. I don't care for Brie in real life, but I like her as Captain Marvel, especially in that movie. She wasn't really able to shine in her minor appearances since then, so I'm excited to get another full movie of her.

I actually loved the trailer. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this movie, but the trailer got me pretty excited for it. I love the swapping things that's going on and hope to see them use that in some really cool and creative ways. I think the 3 of them are going to have a great dynamic and be an interesting team for sure.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out, that's for sure. That swapping gimmick could be super entertaining.

Anyhow, this just dropped. This is just a short teaser, apparently the follow up to Godzilla vs. Kong, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire". I honestly thought it was a trailer for a video game at first and tbh, it still sorta gives off that vibe even after confirming it's a new movie.
