Was certain this was a fake trailer until I saw it wasn’t. I love A Christmas Story so I will be watching, even if it’s wild that they’re bringing it back all these years later. Also what a silly name. Oughtta be fun enough.
Still gets played all Christmas day on one channel (TNT?). I love it but it certainly gets played a little too often… but I tend to skip certain movies in my holiday lineups as to not get sick of them.
Only true constants are A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Very Murray Christmas every Christmas Eve.
Ohh yah that actually is a constant of the lady and I too. Wouldn’t feel like Christmas without it. Also never saw Scrooged until a few years back. That one’s quickly becoming a favorite.
Part of the plot is apparently about Ralphie wanting to give his kids a Christmas like he had when he was a kid. Since his childhood Christmas was "A Christmas Story," a Christmas like his would be "A Christmas Story Christmas". Not that I expect him to say that. More like it's from our point of view.
Haha yah I got the parody aspect of the name, just adding “Christmas” after the franchise title is good stuff. When I say it’s silly, I mean in a fun way.
Also, I’ve heard of Christmas Story 2 and just cannot bring myself to watch it. I do love the other movie set in the same universe though, It Runs In The Family (aka My Summer Story). I haven’t seen that one in years, but I remember it stars Kieran Culkin as Ralphie and that I really enjoyed it.
The first is clearly the best. Second was good, third kinda starts to jump the shark, and this one definitely does.
They're building this massive universe (I heard rumors of spin offs?) of this whole underground society, and this latest installment looks like they're going further down the rabbit hole. Not that it's bad, it's just, feels like they're going a bit too deep.
Regardless, I'm pumped. The action in these movies is fantastic.
Just noticed this trailer released after the House of the Dragon finale. Cannot wait. In the middle of a rewatch, really love this show. Probably my favorite show as far as pure character dramas go right now.
> Sadly, still not digging Mario's voice, nor Luigi, but it'll grow on all of us. I'm
> sure my kids will watch it 984 times.
Yeah that trailer looked amazing but I don’t get why they felt they needed big names for Mario and Luigi. I would love the original Mario voice and he def deserves to voice the movie. Oh well. I’m sure it’s gonna do great and I’ll enjoy it regardless
The OG voice actor is great and all but he really only ever recites the same couple lines and a bunch of WAHOO noises. I’m glad it isn’t a stereotypical “Italian” voice, personally. I’d get real sick of that for a full length movie.
I’m all the way over the voice acting complaints. If it wasn’t Chris Pratt, I feel like most folks wouldn’t even be batting an eyelash. It sounds fine, like a protagonist to an animated movie, and that’s all I need. I think all the characters sound good. Charlie Day fits Luigi and Jack Black sounds great as Bowser. Interesting that we didn’t hear Seth Rogen as DK yet, considering he was in the Direct briefly.
The new Mario movie looks OK but not great. I'll definitely give it a watch once it's on a streaming service I'm subscribed to but I wouldn't pay anything to see it sooner than that. I love that Charlie is Luigis voice though.
