Maybe they'll do a re-imagining where The Lone Ranger eats his love interests. I'm wondering if Hammer ever REALLY ate any part of a person or if talking about it is just some VERY effed up sexual fantasy he has. I imagine the latter, and I assume the documentary dives into that stuff.
If you can't remain objective on a topic, then please refrain from discussing it. I cleaned up both sides of a flame war that was starting, as neither side was contributing, just starting the usual back and forth. This is why we don't do politics in the main forums. Take it some place that is designed for that kind of discussion.
I am so, so ready for this. Knives Out is one of the movies that has come out in the past 10 years and immediately skyrocketed on my favorites list. Others include Birdman, The Shape of Water, Inside Llewyn Davis, etc.
Fond memories watching the first Knives Out... I was under the weather, worried about my mother's health, it was New Year's Eve and I had invitations to two different parties. My girlfriend went to one with her sister and my friends were doing their thing, but I was home alone. What should have been a sorta crappy night ended up saved when I threw Knives Out on for the first time and was completely caught up in it. I've since watched it countless times and love it more whenever I see it. Really fun movie.
So to say I'm excited about this sequel is a bit of an understatement. Looks entirely different, setting-wise, but definitely seems to still have that Knives Out charm. Cannot wait.
Looks really good. Only problem with it is that Ana de Armas won't be in it I've been wanting to re-watch Knives Out for a while now, I should get to that.
the older guy who's poisoned, and he gives his stuff in his will to his caretaker, and the whole family is fighting, and there's a detective who's trying to figure out what happened? And in the end it had something to do with two nearly identical looking liquids in a bottle?
That's the obvious choice, so he's probably there for misdirection. Unless it turns out he really was the killer. But wasn't. Not really. But he was! But not!
I tend to be lockstep with you on your reviews and opinions @theJaw; however, I remember Knives Out being very underwhelming, boring, and just a bit lackluster. It's long enough ago now that I barely remember much about it, sans that both my wife and I were just a bit of a "meh" status on it. We'll rewatch it with the sequel coming out though.

Aw man, yah give it another go. It definitely is a slow burn in several ways, though I loved the characters and performances for said characters enough that I was thoroughly entertained all the way through.
With the sequel trailer dropping, I actually just re-watched the first while working. This shot is iconic at this point, at least to me. That whole scene, and Blanc's big monologue, is one of my favorite moments in film from the past few years for sure. image

That sucks big. I can't say I'm surprised, I mentioned it enough times pre-release that I felt Amazon was putting all their eggs in the LOTR basket while Paper Girls was getting the shaft and after seeing Paper Girls, I still sorta feel that's what happened. Though, the narrative choices for Paper Girls could have been better too... if they had followed the comics a little closer instead of lingering on that random character's farm for so long, I feel like they could have made a bigger splash. But that also has to do with budget limitations, which just brings me back to how expensive LOTR was when compared to Paper Girls.
Real shame. Hopefully they're able to sell it to somebody else who will actually give it the time of day instead of just treating it as "another popular comic property we can capitalize on" like Amazon seemed to do once The Boys blew up.
Amazon has a show, Night Sky that I was interested in. So, I put it on my watchlist. By the time I got around to watching it (a couple months later maybe), they had canceled it. It wasn't bad. Oh well. Amazon seems as brutal as Netflix about canceling shows.
re: Knives Out ... Rian Johnson's Brick (2005) remains one of my favorite movies. I think it was his first feature film. The writing in it is so sharp and cool.
I hear Brick is great, one of the cops from Knives Out is in it if I recall. I'll need to give that a go.
Between Knives Out & Breaking Bad, I think I'm just a big Rian Johnson fan in general. I stand by my opinion that, despite a few flaws, The Last Jedi is still the best Star Wars movie since Empire. Not a popular opinion, but I love it and seemingly love a lot of what Johnson does. Heck, got the apartment to myself for the weekend, maybe I'll whip Brick on one of these nights.
Disney is releasing The Little Mermaid screens. This won't get review bombed at all, despite the story having no impact on what the skin tone of the MC is.
Point being: that if "race"/gender swap does not impact the story, there's no reason to be so upset. If anything, Ariel being darker makes sense since she lives at the bottom of the fudging ocean, away from direct sunlight.
Just you wait until they see the girl that plays Cyclone in Black Adam...
Edit: About The Little Mermaid, I only object to them getting Melissa McCarthy to play Ursula because she's... just.. not that good of an actress. She's great at drama, but I just don't find her funny, and I don't know if she'll be able to pull off the character.
Also I'm VERY WORRIED about the CGI for the animal characters.
I dunno if Ursula really needs to be too comical, she was mostly only "funny" in the sense that she was an over-stylized cartoon character. Not that I'm pumped about McCarthy either, just playing devil's advocate there.
I'm fine with the actress playing Ariel but that teaser didn't do a single thing for me. I know there was really nothing there but what WAS there didn't look that good.
The lineup for Thunderbolts looks pretty fudging badass, I cannot lie. I wish William Hurt was still around to be Thunderbolt Ross/Red Hulk, considering the team was named after him in the comics. They could still introduce a Red Hulk though, if they really wanted to.

Umm, absolutely NOT named after Thunderbolt Ross. Baron Zemo, team founder, was not really a fan. Ross was not even a member till several team iterations later.
They could easily still do Red Hulk, especially if he never turns back to human form. But I think the fans would forgive a recast in this case.

I always thought he was a better choice in the first place. One of the few things the older Hulk movie got right.
> Two Hulks is enough. Rulk was ridiculous enough as it is.
Rulk was always kind of a joke. Imagine the pitch: "He's the Hulk, but he's red. And he has the most ginormous guns ever. Why does a Hulk did need guns? Who cares, it'll look totally aweseome!"
> The Peripheral (based on William Gibson novel) on Prime Video October 21.
Huh. I love Gibson's stuff -- Neuromancer is my favorite book of all time. It's the only book I've read multiple times. But then I just forget about keeping up with things. I haven't read Peripheral. I should do that before this series comes out...
> Point being: that if "race"/gender swap does not impact the story, there's no reason

So, I'm fine with the new Ariel -- doesn't bother me a bit. But, to your comment, aren't things at the bottom of the ocean usually like very pale white because they've had no sunlight? And things that are exposed to lots of sunlight end up darker? Seems like the opposite of what you're saying here.
Real excited for Red Guardian, Yelena, Bucky, and US Agent. Didn't get enough from either of their movies to be too excited about Ghost or Taskmaster, but hopefully this movie will flesh them out much more. I feel like the ensemble could use 1 or 2 more members, but maybe it's fine.
As far as the animated ones go, I'm much more interested in Lower Decks than Prodigy.
We're watching everything -- and I enjoy it, sure. And I know that Prodigy is aimed at kids. And, for that, it's fine, I guess. But I feel like it goes a little too far from "realistic"/canon. Like, the "Kobayashi" episode was so wrong/annoying to me. Ignoring that episode, it's fine, I guess, but still just not where I think it could be.
Lower Decks, on the other hand, is great stuff! Funny and SO many past-Trek references snuck in. 👍
Prodigy seems like they are getting closer to canon stuff as they work their way closer to Federation space. The trailer and the NYCC panel mention a lot of alien races and upcoming guest stars that are drawn from the TNG era.
I say this every year but it's a shame NYCC is less about actual comics and more about movies/shows and all that crap. I was in the City today for a concert and stopped by the Midtown Comics GCT and snagged something though.
Was certain this was a fake trailer until I saw it wasn’t. I love A Christmas Story so I will be watching, even if it’s wild that they’re bringing it back all these years later. Also what a silly name. Oughtta be fun enough.
Still gets played all Christmas day on one channel (TNT?). I love it but it certainly gets played a little too often… but I tend to skip certain movies in my holiday lineups as to not get sick of them.
Only true constants are A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Very Murray Christmas every Christmas Eve.
Ohh yah that actually is a constant of the lady and I too. Wouldn’t feel like Christmas without it. Also never saw Scrooged until a few years back. That one’s quickly becoming a favorite.
Part of the plot is apparently about Ralphie wanting to give his kids a Christmas like he had when he was a kid. Since his childhood Christmas was "A Christmas Story," a Christmas like his would be "A Christmas Story Christmas". Not that I expect him to say that. More like it's from our point of view.
Haha yah I got the parody aspect of the name, just adding “Christmas” after the franchise title is good stuff. When I say it’s silly, I mean in a fun way.
Also, I’ve heard of Christmas Story 2 and just cannot bring myself to watch it. I do love the other movie set in the same universe though, It Runs In The Family (aka My Summer Story). I haven’t seen that one in years, but I remember it stars Kieran Culkin as Ralphie and that I really enjoyed it.
The first is clearly the best. Second was good, third kinda starts to jump the shark, and this one definitely does.
They're building this massive universe (I heard rumors of spin offs?) of this whole underground society, and this latest installment looks like they're going further down the rabbit hole. Not that it's bad, it's just, feels like they're going a bit too deep.
Regardless, I'm pumped. The action in these movies is fantastic.
Just noticed this trailer released after the House of the Dragon finale. Cannot wait. In the middle of a rewatch, really love this show. Probably my favorite show as far as pure character dramas go right now.
> Sadly, still not digging Mario's voice, nor Luigi, but it'll grow on all of us. I'm
> sure my kids will watch it 984 times.
Yeah that trailer looked amazing but I don’t get why they felt they needed big names for Mario and Luigi. I would love the original Mario voice and he def deserves to voice the movie. Oh well. I’m sure it’s gonna do great and I’ll enjoy it regardless
The OG voice actor is great and all but he really only ever recites the same couple lines and a bunch of WAHOO noises. I’m glad it isn’t a stereotypical “Italian” voice, personally. I’d get real sick of that for a full length movie.
I’m all the way over the voice acting complaints. If it wasn’t Chris Pratt, I feel like most folks wouldn’t even be batting an eyelash. It sounds fine, like a protagonist to an animated movie, and that’s all I need. I think all the characters sound good. Charlie Day fits Luigi and Jack Black sounds great as Bowser. Interesting that we didn’t hear Seth Rogen as DK yet, considering he was in the Direct briefly.
The new Mario movie looks OK but not great. I'll definitely give it a watch once it's on a streaming service I'm subscribed to but I wouldn't pay anything to see it sooner than that. I love that Charlie is Luigis voice though.
That movie could easily go either way, but I'm looking forward to it. Cannot lie and pretend that I didn't get a little bit misty eyed when the music started playing.
Also that de-aging tech is getting scary good these days. Looks like they plucked Harrison Ford right out of the 80s in a few of those shots.
Looks like they’re sticking to the more cartoon-accurate designs that we saw in the Bumblebee movie, which is neat. Also stars Anthony Ramos, who I really enjoyed in Hamilton and In the Heights.
Still bet the movie’s butt though, but I was pleasantly surprised by Bumblebee so who knows?
Guardians trailer looked good. Antman... meh. Transformers turn your brain off and hope for the best expecting the worst. Indiana Jones... cringe. Ford is too old, and he hates everything. Go the Bond route or end it.
> Transformers turn your brain off and hope for the best expecting the worst.

Ford seems to be super into this Indy movie, even got emotional when that trailer was revealed at D23 (or Comic Con, I forget which). I thought the trailer looked real good, but it could really just be a good trailer. I trust James Mangold though, dude rarely misses.
Ant Man has a better full trailer out, that one was mostly just a recap. Betting money Scott Lang bites it in the movie.
Guardians looks great and considering Vol 2 is one of my favorite MCU movies (with an ending that destroys me every single time), I have high hopes.

I didn't see that and I hope so. He's been so bitter publicly about his most prominent roles for so long. I always found it sad, like he made poor life choices despite the stupid prosperity. Would he have been happier as a middle class carpenter, or is this all bullcrap?
I don’t think he truly hates any of it, I just don’t think he loves the spotlight like most celebrities seem to and just looks at acting as a job. Seems like he just finds the overzealous fandom toward a lot of his roles to be fairly ridiculous and, to be fair, it sort of is. And I say that as someone who buys into that stuff in full haha. I think that reads as bitter to some, but to me he just comes off indifferent toward the whole idolization of movie stars and would rather not take part in that stuff.
But I don’t know the guy, so I could be way off. I’ll just continue to try to dig the stuff he puts out whether he does or not haha
Also, that one shot of Peter Quill screaming in the Guardians trailer may be the most emotive I've ever seen Chris Pratt. Looking forward to seeing how well he lands the heavy moments in that movie because he honestly did great in Volume 2 with all the Ego/Yondu stuff. I know he's not the best actor and doesn't seem to have incredible range but the emotion on his face in that one shot may make me rethink that assessment depending on how the scene itself pans out.
This is one of those "I won't watch any more trailers" situations. In fact, I wish I didn't watch this one. I usually have a thing where if I know I'm going to watch a movie anyhow, then I try to avoid any information about it. I will do that from now on.
> Why does Rocket look so different to me in that trailer? Like, even his head size
> seems wrong or something...
Well, some of those shots feature a younger (flashback) version of Rocket, it seems. Some also seem to feature a girlfriend for him, who is an otter in the comics, so maybe you're looking at her?
> This is one of those "I won't watch any more trailers" situations. In fact, I wish

I actually thought this trailer showed very little. I still have no idea what the movie is about. Sure, it seems somebody is going to die, but people have been speculating that would happen in this one for a while now (I think Gunn had even confirmed it long ago) so it was nothing new.

Right, but, again, I pretty much avoid it. So, I haven't seen/heard Gunn confirm anything.
Not a big deal. Just one of those things where I like to not see it. Like, I wish I didn't see Groot with his many-arm guns -- because I think that would have been awesome to see for the first time in the theater. That sort of thing.
New Christian Bale movie coming to Netflix in January, looks pretty interesting. Also cool to see Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley from Harry Potter) getting so many roles these days. Pretty great actor as it would turn out.
This looks sorta bad, like it’s going to take itself way too seriously for such a goofy plot, but at least Adam Driver apparently sounds just like Harrison Ford in it.
It was apparently a covid movie that the folks who wrote A Quiet Place wanted to make. I think it looks a little too “try hard” and free of levity, which won’t work for me personally given the silly premise. Just seems like a grimdark sci fi movie, but I’ll be more than happy to eat my shoe if I end up enjoying it. I do love Adam Driver & big ol’ dinosaurs after all.
Hey, that's a great guess. That might be the case. I didn't catch if Driver's character was also in cryogenic sleep, so he might be just confused about where they are.
>> I'm a simple man, I see killer dinosaurs in space and I click like. I'll watch that one for sure.
>
> Are we sure they are in space? Sure looks like a Planet of the Apes scenario to
> me. Plot twist: they time travelled and its really Earth after all!
Yeah, so, I don't mean to spoil it, but another version of the trailer...
...says that someone visited earth 65 million years ago. So, it absolutely is earth, but apparently without time travel. He's not from earth. He's a human (or human-like) alien from another planet that crash lands on earth a long time ago.
I cannot fudging wait for Kang. Jonathan Majors has been a favorite of mine for a while (ever since Lovecraft County and Da 5 Bloods), so seeing him in that role just gets me so pumped.
I dug V for what it accomplished, and for just being a good slasher movie, but this one looks a lot fresher and that’s something a franchise this old really needs.
I guess there’s some internet backlash to Ghostface using a shotgun but for some reason that makes me look forward to this iteration even more. This one looks like he’ll (she’ll?) do whatever it takes to actually win haha. That makes it even scarier imo.
Yeah, I like that they're shaking things up. Not so much the location, I don't care about that, but Ghostface using a shotgun, attacking people out in the open around tons of other people, etc. I feel like there were at least a couple times Ghostface used a gun, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
Yeah I wasn't including out of costume times, I'm pretty sure that would include all of the movies. I was thinking Scream 2 at least had 1 part where Ghostface ended up with a gun, not positive though.
Oh yah, there were definitely out-of-costume gun usage in the second. Had a brain fart there. Yah I can't remember, but I do know that it did seem out of the ordinary to seem him stalking his prey toting a shotgun. Either way, it seems Scream VI is taking that to a new extreme haha.
I feel like the "weird" scenes will be too "weird" and go on too long. Like, the liked the concept -- but then the animated stuff and other crazy worlds that are just going to be in his head are going to draw out stuff in a way that I'll really not enjoy.
I'll wait for some reviews on that one -- and then probably ignore them and not watch it anyhow.
That's my first look at the Mariyo movie. Looks awful. Seth Green is fine for Seth Green stuff but it looks like they're just throwing any celebrity in that movie just for the sake of it.
Pitch Black rules so hard. Chronicles of Riddick was pretty… not great, but I love it anyhow. I dig the giant swing they took in trying to make that universe the new Star Wars and just put out a fudgein wild space opera. I started Riddick, the third movie, like 4 times and it just bored me to death. I’ve never seen it all the way through.
> I used to have a full-size arcade standup of Tetris that I picked up cheap. Not

Oof I’d kill for one of those bad boys. Been playing both Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 and Tetris for Gameboy a bunch lately since that trailer dropped. I feel like that game is under appreciated nowadays. Every time I pick it up, I play for far too long haha
Also after PPT2, Gameboy Tetris is difficult to play. Great for the nostalgia though.
Yeah, some games that I used to love (either in the arcade or on consoles) are just not as far as arcade games at home. Like, for example, it's really very different when, at home, you have infinite quarters for some games. Like, it was great in the arcade when you were actually spending money and had a limit of how long you could continue. But, at home, when you can just keep triggering free credits, it just isn't the same. So, for those games, I decided to sell them instead. For others (like Tetris), it's just a matter of them not translating as well to arcade versus handheld play. I just didn't enjoy Tetris as an arcade game, I guess.
This movie looks like it's going to fudging rule. I had my doubts when I saw some of the designs but this trailer + the cast has completely restored my faith. New TMNT, YES!
> And who is upset? I was only trying to have a conversation. Butthurt, much?
Lol brother, I’m not butthurt, ya popped in questioning my excitement for a movie as opposed to sharing your own thoughts. I just think your nitpick is a goofy thing to judge a movie on. You could just as easily ask “how is he going to be a ninja AS A TURTLE?” I think they’ll figure out how to handle something as daunting as a character in glasses just fine.
Tbh he’s worn eyewear in the comics and previous movies too, they may even acknowledge it in the story. Just don’t think it’s indicative of the movie being ass is all, but whatev. To each their own of course.
I'm stoked for it. Even though TMNT keeps getting a new identity every several years, I dig it. Keep them fresh and relatable to current gen. I hope it delivers!
I dunno @theJaw... First it's glasses, then it's turtle on turtle action, then it's fudging anarchy and chaos. Allllll because you seem to think glasses aren't a big deal. You're clearly gonna screw it up for everyone! Thanks in advance you son of a dog!
> You can't be a bo staff fighter doing flips and summersaults while wearing glasses...
Bullcrap.
All it takes is a strap around the back of the head that closes with velcro and keeps the glasses on your face. Or glasses that are designed more like goggles that strap on the same way. Morgan Hurd on Team USA Gymnastics was wearing glasses in competition for years, and seemed to have a strap around her head keeping them on. Plenty of flips and somersaults there.
> You can't be a bo staff fighter doing flips and summersaults while wearing glasses...
I need you to prove you’re a bo staff fighter to back this claim up, and then I promise I will retract everything I’ve said about this animated movie based on the very real possibility of mutant turtles fighting crime.
You would have to always adjust them. Do you wear glasses? They aren't fun and you can't do consistent physical crap even with them when you have the elastic band you're talking about.
> You would have to always adjust them. Do you wear glasses? They aren't fun and you
> can't do consistent physical crap even with them when you have the elastic band you're

Bud, it's a movie about mutated, human-sized animals in masks fighting other mutated, human-sized animals while crossing between dimensions. They drive a van with a big turtle shell on it. Their best friend is a reporter who for some reason doesn't run away from them every time she sees them. They time travel. They TALK.
I wear glasses while doing manual labor all of the time. Maybe I'm not ninja fighting, but Donatello wearing glasses is LITERALLY among the most believable, least fantastical things this franchise has ever done. How could anybody be so hung up on this detail?
Simply gotta assume you're just doing it for the giggles at this point, and to that I commend you.
> You would have to always adjust them. Do you wear glasses? They aren't fun and you
> can't do consistent physical crap even with them when you have the elastic band you're

I do, which is why I say bullcrap. I wore a strap with them in school for gym class and the like. If they are strapped on properly, they won't fall down. Just feels like you are trolling at this point, or have never had your glasses properly fitted.
I can't imagine they are letting him do another DCEU movie. Though Gunn has said that there is room for Elseworlds to explain stuff like The Batman and Joker (and their sequels) which won't fit into the new DCU movies. Maybe Man of Steel 2 fits under that banner? I just can't see them letting Snyder have another go round, or Cavill after they shafted him on coming back as Superman.
Maybe a podcast continuation of the Snyderverse or something?
There's no way there's going to be another live action DCEU movie. Cavill got shafted, Affleck already said he would never do another superhero movie again (too much pressure, was bad for his mental health), Flash is like two steps away from going to jail all the time, and that's just for starters.
Though it's certainly possible to keep the universe and its characters - if not the voice actors - around for those animated specials DC puts out.
That said some people really need to please, PLEASE move on from the Snyder garbage. Fudge.
Just saw a post on one of the comic book sites theorizing that it could be a limited theatrical release for the Snyder Cut. That actually makes sense. One of Snyder's posts apparently has the word "IMAX" under the dates, so that's the evidence.
> Though it's certainly possible to keep the universe and its characters - if not the
> voice actors - around for those animated specials DC puts out.
Gunn has already said that he wants his new voice actors to also do the same characters in animation, in order to push the idea of it all being one shared universe. Of course, he might not realize how paying A-list actors to do direct to video movies is unfeasible, but that is his plan, anyway. So that seems to leave little room for the former DCEU actors to do animated projects.
> Well it's a good thing none of the remaining DCEU actors are A-Listers. :D
Ha! True, but you know what I mean. It's far cheaper to hire someone else who is not a recognizable "movie star" even if they are B-C-D list, especially if they do a decent enough imitation of the movie star's voice.
@Kommie I forgot that was even happening. Weird that it's only airing in Canada, apparently you can watch it for free on the network's website up there (or via VPN). I'm gonna have to track that down on the ol' high seas.
@MrBean That looks terrible and I love it. Always down for a Broken Lizard movie.
I know people love his "artistic style" or whatever, but I really do NOT like how every shot in a Wes Anderson movie looks washed out and shot on a camera from 1952. Again, I know that is kinda "his thing" or whatever. But I just do not enjoy it. The still frame above or just Googling the movie and looking at ANY frame from ANY shot in it and they all look exactly the same. I just don't get the love for that. *shrug*

To be fair, this movie is the only Anderson movie I can think of that has that "washed out" look. Most of the time it's just the symmetrical shot gimmick, but the colors are always very vivid (save for The French Dispatch & maybe Rushmore, but that one was before his style really took shape). It looks like he was intentionally trying to give this the old-timey retro look with the color palette due to the story/setting.
I personally love the storybook aesthetic that comes with a Wes Anderson movie. It's like you're looking in on a moving diorama, a snapshot in the lives of the characters you're watching. I don't know if that's his intention or if he just likes symmetrical shots but that's how I look at it. Just his visual style, lots of directors have one. We get plenty of movies shot in the standard way, so I think it's refreshing whenever Anderson releases a movie that's visually a little different. It's not for everyone of course, but I think it's pretty neat.
Blue Beetle looks great, but I really question the changes they made to the character. Why isn't he in El Paso? Why is George Lopez there? Where's Paco? Why did they age his sister up? And does he still want to be a Dentist?
This trailer maaaaybe gave a little too much away, especially regarding Spider-man 2099/Miguel O'Hara's character, but I have faith they saved the best for the movie itself. Still looks like it's gonna friggin rule.

This, more than any other of his movies, looks like paintings.
I can't remember the specific painters name, but this shot image
is an homage to a painter and I can't for the life of me remember who it is and it's killing me.
Every frame in this movie looks like a painting.
I think Anderson's art direction in his films are exquisite. But visually, this film looks more like a painting than his others.
I re-watched French Dispatch the other night and it shot up towards the top of his films. He is one of the most unique visual storytellers of the last ... gosh, I don't know - three or four decades.
We're only seeing half of the Barbie film in these trailers. Barbie and Ken are supposed to go to the real world, which I suspect will be the main story of the movie.

That's a gorgeous shot indeed. The more I see of the movie, the more I dig the visual style.
I can't wait to see it, personally. I also love the "alien panic" that took real world towns like Asteroid City by storm around the time that the movie is set. For some reason I find it super interesting and am really looking forward to seeing how Anderson tackles that subject matter. There's a reason I love games like Destroy All Humans! or shows like 3rd Rock from the Sun (though that was obv set in the 90s). There's just something about the "aliens among us" concept that tickles my fancy.

Oh, a series, not a movie. Cool. Didn't notice that.
We don't know that much of Nick Fury's story. Maybe this will explore it a bit. I would think it should be an entertaining watch. He's fairly mysterious.
Ahsoka looks fantastic. Can't wait to revisit the characters from Rebels and that Thrawn tease got me pumped. I've been a Thrawn fan since he was introduced in the EU, or at least since I first read the original Thrawn Trilogy comics by Timothy Zahn.
And Indiana Jones looks really great too. Looks like they learned from the mistakes of Crystal Skull and are giving us a fairly old school-style Indiana Jones story. The de-aging in some of those shots is friggin wild, maybe the best use of that technology I've ever seen. And that music... never fails to get me a little dewy eyed.
Just rewatched the Ahsoka trailer. The fact that she calls Thrawn the "heir to the Empire" got me giddy, I missed it the first time around.
The Thrawn Trilogy is still some of the best SW ever produced, and it's the main thing I ACTUALLY miss from the old EU (though I enjoy what they did with the character in Rebels). The first book in that trilogy was "Heir to the Empire", and it's the perfect moniker for Thrawn, so it was awesome to see that little nod in the trailer.
I loved WandaVision, and Monica Rambeau was part of the reason. I really enjoyed Ms. Marvel and am excited to see her return. While mid-tier on my MCU ranking list, I still enjoyed Captain Marvel for the most part, and am not one of the tough guy internet Brie Larson haters.
That said, the trailer is about 50/50 for me. I'm totally down to watch the movie of course, and it does look like it could be a lot of fun, but the trailer itself didn't FULLY sell me (he says, knowing he's auto-sold on these movies already). Still oughtta be a real good time, and without any true expectations, I could easily be pleasantly surprised.
New in-production trailer for HBO's spin-off of The Batman, The Penguin. It's short, but there's still more in-show footage than I'd have expected from a production trailer. Looks a bit like a darker Sopranos, and I still find it so hard to believe that's Colin Farrel playing the part. His eyes don't even look the same for some reason.

I loved WandaVision, but Monica Rambeau was just ok. She didn't really stand out in that show, IMO. That said, I'm excited to see more of what she can do in this movie.

I like Kamala and Iman, but the show fell pretty flat for me. I don't think that will matter for this movie though.

Surprisingly, I think I liked Captain Marvel even more than you. I don't care for Brie in real life, but I like her as Captain Marvel, especially in that movie. She wasn't really able to shine in her minor appearances since then, so I'm excited to get another full movie of her.

I actually loved the trailer. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this movie, but the trailer got me pretty excited for it. I love the swapping things that's going on and hope to see them use that in some really cool and creative ways. I think the 3 of them are going to have a great dynamic and be an interesting team for sure.
It'll definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out, that's for sure. That swapping gimmick could be super entertaining.
Anyhow, this just dropped. This is just a short teaser, apparently the follow up to Godzilla vs. Kong, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire". I honestly thought it was a trailer for a video game at first and tbh, it still sorta gives off that vibe even after confirming it's a new movie.
