How do you use yada yada in real life? The same was they use it in that episode?

That's pretty cool! I don't actually own any PAL SNES games. I do own a few SFC games. Honestly, I think the SFC had cooler box art than either US or PAL SNES.

10-Oct-2022(#12)I had the best weekend for games I've had in a while! First was an estate sale on Friday where the owner was trying to clear out a house for demo work - I managed to get the SNES and Wii lots pictured below for $100 total. Bubsy and Home Alone 2 were both games I had as a kid and, while they aren't great, it's nice to have boxes copies of them. Zombies Ate My Neighbors is an excellent find, too. On Saturday I took the kiddo out to some community sales that turned out to have far less houses than anticipated, but while the odds were slim the finds were good. The blu-rays and CDs were $20 for everything, the Switch games were $10 each, and the Lego sets (still sealed inside) were $5. Not too shabby all around!
imageimageimageimageWith regards to the SNES stuff, most of the boxes are going into my or my brother's collection, but the box for Pitfall, the shown manuals + the manual for Mario All-Stars, and many of the cartridges are available.

12-Oct-2022(#16)I picked up a bunch of interesting things over the week, and I might post photos later, but this is the big one. I spent a month waiting for this set to arrive.
imageThis was the last big purchase I made for my DVD game project. I found it on ebay, but the seller didn't ship to America. So a friend from Germany told me he could buy it and forward it to me, but eBay wouldn't let me pay with my US gift card balance, so I had to pay real money for these. Then the package arrived at my friend's, he shipped it out, and it was not picked up for two weeks. Then it was, it was sent to the Netherlands, and stayed there for two more weeks... until it arrived last Saturday.
Volume 3 is so rare that there's almost no mention of it online, and I honestly didn't even know it had been released. I figured it was cheaper to spend the money to get all three volumes right away instead of praying vol. 3 would show up on its own. Other than that German listing, the only one I've seen with photos of the actual item was... at an online store from Oman. And it was out of stock.
Playing it is going to be an
adventure of its own...

18-Oct-2022(#20)found something last Thursday, but as usual, get iffy waiting. Got scammed once sending money, so now am never sure or that feeling is fresh, and it's lingering. Guess what I don't like about it is that the person had autodeposit on bank to bank transfer (we call them etransfers here) - that was the same deal last time, - and he said he'd take a picture of the package when it had postage, never did. Said his father sent it. I never take pics, so that wasn't it, but he said he would, than didn't. On that note, I inquired if the item was new and sealed, and he sent me pictures of the item (would people really take pictures from ebay or other sources and than post much later trying to get an illegitimate cash from it?). The name he used on fb matches that on the bank transfer. He had some other collectible things at decent prices, but this item was priced a little low. The ad for this might have not been up, and he scouted the used and priced it as such. Or priced everything, than put everything up on fb. I dunno, I'll let you know either way. Hope it comes. If it doesn't, I won't send first again via that method again...or at least really try not to lol. Had some good buys that way. I always think if it's far, the place, someone may send me to someone's house that he doesn't like. I guess people aren't that deranged. 19-Oct-2022(#24)Not a scam yet, somehow have a good feeling about it. He also marked it sold right after I sent. But to be honest, I'm one of the few people buying up pc games. Maybe a few more started up, I like to do it in person, but this was from the east coast. I still, feel good about it, but the feeling has to pass into a tangible, or else I'll be scattered, either that some kids got wind of games selling, etc, etc. I know one kid asked me to rent him my bank account for a bit, for something or other. I was like, hell no. Lol. No idea, I was a troubled kid, but I thought I was banking on profitable institutions, and doing their service sector better to make sure quality and common incidents don't occur. Still didn't seem right, just catered to me like a booze hound. I couldn't be a gentleman on the alcohol. Switched over to smoking, and cleaned myself right up. Gotta live the good life not look for handouts. But I like games, and I'm always trying to make good buys. Still, this life won't feel like I'm coathanged by an assembly line crane, and my actions only rendered on the row I'm on. The world, big or small, ain't that different anywhere, still, I feel good about myself, and hope there aren't too many kids making people like me disappointed in society when things like this happen. It wouldn't even be karma. Don't know, couldn't have made it up here yet, so will wait until Friday before really getting iffy. Sorry for sharing early, just some lingering thoughts, glad to see it got some comedy from the folks here

19-Oct-2022(#25)And to be fair, I was a kid, thinking I need some lunchmoney for beer. What are these adults doing right apart from being older. Ha ha. I dunno, it was simply reversing one thing, to go, if I keep nurturing myself by this remedy, I'll never be self-sufficient. With smoking, I still have big appetites, but it doesn't get me in a downer. The weed makes you talk in your own comfortable code until you reach new heights. Booze is the neverending call of the wild, when all is tame. You lose control Wanting the same. With weed, you lose your mind thinking what you need. Much more beneficial. Plus, I have schizzophrenia. And to start my funds right, I had 20k as a kid, that I boozehounded for years adding and losing it. Not much, but like I said, if you got things where you can't keep your head on your shoulders. look for the right remedy. It doesn't have to be the mainstream, but I'm sure weed is a positive, though I still gotta be a customer. Whatchu gonna do in a vending machine world. W420 for me lol

* 19-Oct-2022(#26)To think back is to be lost. To be lost and feel lost, equates to a flatline emotion. I guess at first, you're looking for drive, and without doing the time and being patient enough, you just do things that you lose the most control. You think it's fun. Your morals get thrown into a hiatus cuz you believe in fun and you're following the leader. When it starts to hurt, you wish you could stop. But you've always been jaded, might as well not take a pill and smoke the mind to at least not lose yourself.
I'm a big advocate of weed, but I don't promote it. Just think it betters you. Granted, when you need to be doing something, you just don't smoke as much. But once you start, it's hard to put down. Harm reduction not in either beer or weed, but in how you react to these things after time. Mixing can't be good if you want your energy to be either liquid inebriated or piff high.
I've been doing good for a long time now, but always somehow backtrack in thought or render it something else but it all stems from somewhere. I guess if the kids have done it, and even if they're getting better and the world is somehow automatic, I don't want to minesweep the internet for potential no returns. I guess we all did some damage or destruction as a kid, than when we're getting high, they try to say we're acting like we're drunk, compared to that, we're flying to the clouds and they're pinning angel wings to our spines and trading all the hair for feathers.
But all the apparent good, it's just a feeling. Guess you always feel better, like you're getting younger, rather than feel like you're at the end of your rope lol

20-Oct-2022(#28)Well, the package didn't come in, but from experience mailing out on ebay, it can take about a week before I get feedback, if they even give it. So I'll be nervous by next Tuesday.
Sorry for all the random chit chat, my head sometimes does better writing than thinking but not that day. Seems some days, when too much new stuff is starting up, I regress and talk of something no one wants to hear. I guess that's the bs of internet sometimes, sometimes you're at your best, sometimes you're at your worst lol
But I am going to pick up another solid deal tomorrow. Will let you all know when I get it. Didn't do the math, rather be surprised, but from looking at it, it seems to be quality. Not AMAZING, but decent enough, and I could use some sitting in the car and being the passenger. Will share that tomorrow, and hopefully I get my package by Friday. If not, maybe early next week, or I'll go this lot cost me more, and just leave it at that. Not be so prone to buy from the internet randomly anymore.
Hopefully it's just a one off, not a 2 off, but I don't want to strike out. Foul! lol

* 21-Oct-2022(#29)https://www.imgur.com/a/s19CMdbGood day today. Went for a drive, but didn't smoke much on the way. Guess it hit me on the way back when I was like, time for a break, Now lol. The first 3 pictures of what I saw, paid $50 CAD for it. Had to travel an hour and a third of another hour one way. Way back was traffic and took way longer weaving around. Anywho, gems are prob the unreal tournament, dune 2000, saw an ultima gold unsure, the command & conquers, etc. Didn't count up the value but figured it should be worth a ride.
The last picture is what I got via mail, not scammed, woo hoo, still gotta be sharper but I guess you can't. You send it than get a feeling. This one (the feeling) was good, good stuff. Got a driver san francisco new in dvd case. I saw them selling for $165 CAD and they said new but opened no seal, mine is fully sealed. Got it for $25 CAD shipped.

Actually the Arcade 1UP models are surprisingly light. They don't quite have the huge boards inside that the old arcade cabinets do. Probably weighs 25-30 pounds. It was easily managed.

That light? Wow. Nice. I thought they were much heavier. It's really not fun to move really bulky items. Fun to play. But not fun to move.

23-Oct-2022(#39)So this was probably the last weekend for yard sales in 2022 here in Baltimore, and it ended up pretty well! Saturday morning had me going to a community sale that didn't have much for me, but after that I hit up an unlisted sale near my house that mentioned video games and consoles. Turns out it was being held by a guy who does clean outs, so I got a BUNCH of good stuff. They determined prices by looking up eBay Sold prices, cutting in half, then rounding way down, so I got the items in the first two pics for $200. Not too shabby, especially considering I grabbed a Game & Watch and a functional Virtual Boy head!
imageimageOn Sunday there was a late starting community sale about 10 minutes away. When I pulled up to the first sale a friend of mine who also hunts games pulled up behind me and mentioned he already got a score which was...less than ideal. Still, I decided to continue looking around in case there was anything he missed, and I lucked out at the next house. My friend skipped it because he thought it was just an old-lady-stuff sale, but they brought out a Wii lot then a PSP lot and then PS2 lot! I got everything for $60, which was a pretty great to end my yard saling season.
imageimageimageAnd finally, a co-worker of mine was cleaning out for a move and found box with old Atari stuff, so they brought it to me at work party we had! Gotta love random free stuff.

So I'm keeping the Game & Watch, Virtual Boy, most of the PC games, the PSP games, and a smattering of the rest of the stuff, but a lot is available for trade if folks are interested. When I get time, I might list out the keys or whatever individually. No idea if even worth my time, but now I got an axis and allies big box and some other boxes, maybe make a lot of them all one day if no one needs the box(es) locally. More to list out, *sigh*. Maybe this is the unwritten code of our life weavings itself into writing in the grand ol machinae ad ballrooms. 25-Oct-2022(#54)I almost got a CIB Kirby's Pinball Land for $41.25 total, but someone managed to top me two seconds after my snipe bid. Oh well, losing to a sniper is part of the eBay experience--many of my competitors have learned this the hard way!
Did I mention I got Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (loose) for $33 a few weeks ago? If not, then yeah, I did that. Saved me $7ish on the eShop.

Nice!!!
I had to give away my three JVC D-Series TV"s and a few 9" CRT's when I moved recently. Even trashed an RCA CRT because I had nothing I could do with it and nobody would take it for free.
I have no space now, but I sure do miss the CRT days :(

I go with what’s cheapest first, then go for extras if they’re worth it. I usually store DS/3DS/Switch carts in cart holders and dump the boxes in a tub out of sight.
And of course, eBay sniping is the most fun way to buy games, so if I can snatch a game out from under someone’s nose AND get it cheaper, that’s usually what I’ll do. Hence why I settled for a loose $33 cart here.

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/J2MAAOSwKrdjVaZ4/s-...[/imgt]
Ever Oasis for $43 + shipping, resulting in $51.30 altogether. I don't always go for boxes, but this one looks rather nice, with a lovely art style and pleasant-looking characters. Everything was going great until the seller added four hours to the auction, then people actually started bidding in the last hour. I made the mistake of putting 39 as my max bid and then waiting to snipe with 40, so someone else topped me with 40. I then made the rookie mistake of bidding 41 immediately instead of sniping with it. Got topped with 42, and then made the do-or-die choice of sniping with 43. I expected the other bidder to have a higher max bid to bump me out, but he didn't. So I won a pyrrhic victory. Thanks for inspiring me, @Frank ; I never could've done it without your box-dedication, lol.
Now let's see if I win a weak port of Xenoblade.
EDIT: I didn't, but that's kind of a relief.

I'm fairly sure you can't do that eBay as well. Yahoo Auctions has an automatic extension thing you can put on where I believe it adds another 5 minutes if there is a bid in the last 5 minutes or something like that. I've ran into that buying off Yahoo Auctions Japan via proxy.

I’m sure there are better finds out there. I did price everything individually with vgpc, turned out to be about $2600 worth of stuff, give or take. Yeah, he’s a good guy. He paid $150 for all the nes stuff about 20 years ago, and the snes stuff was from his childhood. So I don’t think he cared much. The magazines were going to get tossed.
I’ve gotten some pretty good deals in my years of collecting. Scored all three panzer dragoon games on the Saturn for $3 each, like new with the foam still. Funtastic orange n64 for $20, all that genesis stuff in the first pic for $30, over 1000 vhs tapes for free, personally my favorite find. I think it’s good to have connections.

* 6-Nov-2022(#79)The thrill of the hunt is the HIGH I've always looked for. I use to just buy games cheap to sell to support my game collecting. Until 2008 I had to sell almost everything I had and I really didn't have that much. My bad health made me love games so much. And when I sold here and eBay I always sold for a lot less because I knew what I paid for it. I knew games were a great investment but didn't think some games would so expensive. And most of the games that are of high value now were all clearanced because they didn't sell in the store. And I always knew games would be a better investment than say baseball cards as they don't do anything other than look at them. I tried to get my father to buy this stuff just for an investment but sadly he did not listen. I knew he wouldn't play them but I figured he could have a better retirement fund. I hate looking at games this way now but that's the way it is now. They say bacon is better than sex but finding games is what does it for me. I really only sell stuff now that I won't play because its just it hard to find stuff now.

Now it sits on my shelf never to be sold until I'm long gone because I just cant find games anymore locally. I'm not looking to get rich just trying to collect the stuff I love. I really don't like paying over the original MSRP for games either. Some games like Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger I kind of use inflation as an excuse to pay more. Partners in Time looked like it just came out of the plastic, was definitely more than I wanted to spend but I feel satisfied.
ManiacMadman
6-Nov-2022(#86)I just can't live with myself if pay too much. My friend had a video game store back in the 90's and got video games that game out of back of a truck. I could get any game I wanted brand new for $35 a piece. SNES, TURBOGRAFX, GENESIS, and SEGA CD any or all of them for that price. Thats what i paid for Super Mario RPG when it came out. I didn't know where he got this games but I was fine with it because I didn't have a ton of money. And he paid 20 bucks a piece maybe 15 months they were hot. I think he worked for a distributor that mainly dealt with video stores and stuff like that back then so they fell off a truck. I never did it I just reaped the benefits. Not really the best reason for not wanting to spend a lot of money for it but I just can't spend that kind of money on a game. Tops I think I've ever paid for a game is for for Street fighter 2 for SNES was like 65 bucks from Walmart back in the day.
That's the most I think I've ever paid for a video game in my life. Almost all the great rpgs we love or want were on clearance for $1.50 to $10 each. Knowing that will not allow me to spend more. The game had been like 74.99 at Walmart and then it went on sale because I had an ad to price match it at Walmart plus an extra 10 percent off. Still makes me sick knowing that games like Snatcher was $0.99 for Sega CD each at Toys r us but I passed on it like most everyone else. Knowing that will not allow to spend more than retail which normally was 39.99 to $59.99 back then. Its my only reason to justify spending at all on video games. Thankfully other people don't feel that way but I do. Everything has a price and when it goes over that its not worth having for me. Finding games years ago was our generations gold rush. Things have gotten so expensive I just can't compete anymore.

I always find it entertaining over the years looking back at my first 20 or so trades to see how unbalanced they look in todays market. Had some go both ways. Ironically out of those first 20 trades the only game I still have was from my second trade.

There are plenty of generous people here who would actually undervalue/undercondition their games. I hope that one event, while unfortunate, won't dissuade you from gtz. (You can always ask for pics)

8-Nov-2022(#92)Nothing stopped me from trading or selling. I've gotten a game more recently that a lot of yellowing that was not listed as listed as condition when I got it. I just avoid a few people in particular because of it. The site is great but one bad apple in the bunch can spoil everything. I'm sure everybody who has bought anything online has had condition that was much less than described. And it really can wreck your day and make for a lot of trust issues.

I saw someone on here selling the Atelier Iris games, and I thought about buying them, but the seller decided to keep them before I made an offer. I was still thinking about it and, on a whim, I typed "Atelier Iris" into the search box on the Target website while I was looking at games for their B2G1 free offer. As it turned out, they had Atelier Iris 2 and 3 from a Target Plus partner for $29.99 each new and sealed. I ordered one of each, and they've shipped out already, but it must have been a mistake (maybe old prices they never updated?), because now the same games from the same seller are on the Target website for $54.99 and $79.98 respectively.

I had nothing else to do a few weeks ago so I decided to check it out. The items are actually pretty fairly priced and I picked a few undervalued anime sets. I had a 10% off coupon, so I decided to go back today:
imageTwo anime sets are new and sealed, about $20 for the pair before discount. Red Dead is for my collection and it was $36 before discount. No codes but everything else is there.
I guess someone traded in a binder of disc only games but instead of pricing, the store just inventoried them as a loose game and slapped a $5 price tag on them. Everything in this photo (plus a Catan magnet I got as a Xmas gift for my parents) was $84 after 10% discount.

14-Nov-2022(#103)gosh darn, those stickers are cringe. Better hope none of the disc labels were loose or bubbling or had a cracked ring, or else you're gonna take data off when you peel the stickers up. Why the fudge would they do that

14-Nov-2022(#105)Yeah the stickers really aren't bad at all. Wish more places used stickers like that. I did ask if I could take the sticker off Red Dead before I bought it and had no issues.

Those metal stickers are a dog and a half. The "void" stickers come off easy, but other stickers with metal inside are a nightmare.
I purchased a bunch of games from a Library sale last year and was probably only able to successfully remove one of the metal library stickers without causing major cover art damage. I decided to just leave them on for the remainder.
I will advocate Unduh for sticker removal though. I was able to get some nasty old rental stickers off of a few N64 boxes and cartridges without damaging the label or cardboard.

That must be a "deal" that varies from GameStop location to another, because my local store still had it for around the price I paid, but not on clearance anymore (another store in my area, not the same one). It's one of those YMMV deals.

Yeah I'm very happy with it. I already have a SNES but I've been playing it a lot lately so I figured a back-up isn't the worst idea.
Deals were
Buy a console get $25 store credit which is available for immediate use (so then the SNES became $75)
Any games you buy for a system you buy are 25% off which then stacks with buy one get one free they were offering on all used games under $49.99 and under.
I figure it's a solid deal by like $40-50 and a "free" SNES.

I did, “broken” in the box PS5’s CIB from a woman who doesn’t know much about them but showed me them on Facebook, she’s selling them for $250 a pop. From the sound of it they just need to be formatted, I bought two to start with and she’s already mailed them, I used a card with buyer protection just to be safe but this woman is very friendly to talk to on Facebook and likes to use the audio feature so I can hear her voice and she showed pictures the first time I asked no issues

It's surprisingly not difficult to make your own sushi rolls. And once you can make them yourself, it's much more cost effective than buying it at a store. Plus, you can put inside whatever you want.

Oh yeah. I agree. Also, you can overbake pizza. With sushi, once you have the rice, there's not much to really mess up. Sure, you might get a roll that isn't consistent or isn't shaped perfectly, but not much in the department of one wrong move that would make/break it.

Nice one. I won some star wars funko pop from landmark cinemas, prob shoulda kept them, but sold them as they took up too much space. But if you do take winning a prize as something you need, you have to find contest forums, check how often you enter, do runs, some forums mark by date, arrange by date, and enter them all. I don't do dailies anymore, don't want the effort. But in November, since December just started, I won:
$50 ubereats gift card from HiSense
4 Ottawa Senators tickets vs. San Jose from an Ottawa radio station, I'm in Toronto and the tickets are nosebleeds
Won a $200 gift card to GoodFood but turns out the contest was only for people from Quebec, woops, tried to argue my point, no cigar lol
Dermot Kennedy tickets for 2023 at the best stage to see a show in Toronto, Budweiser Stage from a local radio station
a sleep spray mist and traveller mug from Aramark
Not bad, but I expect December to be better, but my work ethic (being focused on computer time) is not there. We'll see. Christmas contests are a hit or miss. Hope I get the hit part.

Nintendo missed their opportunity with the 3DS. Porting VB games onto the 3DS eShop seemed like a no-brainer... and yet they never even teased it.

That's likely the only explaination that makes any sense. The 3DS was more than capable of emulating VB games, and the 3D display was the perfect pairing.
You're likely right. Nintendo was in the middle of dealing with their biggest failure since the Virtual Boy, and bringing their biggest failure back to light was likely a concern of theirs.
I still see it as a missed opportunity. Nintendo could have even made a small Virtual Boy collection on a physical cartridge, towards the end of the 3DS life. They were already riding the wave of Switch at that point, and it seemed like they were throwing everything they had left at the 3DS... I mean, all those Wii/WiiU 3DS ports...
A Virtual Boy compilation including Wario Land, Mario Clash, and Mario's Tennis would have likely sold pretty well. I'd argue most Nintendo fans haven't actually experienced those games and would have jumped on an opportunity to play them. I own all 3 and STILL would have gladly paid $40 for a 3DS collection of the 3, or $9.99 for them ala-cart digitally... It's fun to reminisce about what
could have been.

Discord deletes images after an unknown period of time, and has a file size limit that will likely interfere with high quality uploads.

I think the image size limit is like, 8 megs. Compress your fudging images or pay four bucks a month for Nitro. :p
And Imgur also deletes images after so many months of not being viewed, most free image hosting sites do so they don't run out of space. They're asking for a free solution, Discord's very good, especially for temporary image hosting needs, especially since it's just a couple clicks to get an image shareable from inside the app. Unless you had a better free solution ready? And if you have that unknown period of time, let me know, I've had images I had hosted for literally four years still viewable before I nuked the image dump. Which is also another nice feature; with a couple clicks, you can just kill all your previous images and start a new one if necessary. I'm presuming deleting the server deletes the images, I haven't necessarily tested it, so don't take that part as gospel. But once you get it set up image sharing across the web is super simple, I use it everywhere, cross server, cross site, you can use it on multiple platforms, I have zero complaints. If you use discord, there's no reason to not just host your own images.

* 18-Dec-2022(#212)https://www.imgur.com/a/t129fqCDidn't get it all, but the person that gave me this, seemed like a real collector, you can see some games in the background of the pictures. But he was initially selling the lot of 21 games, without the tins, etc. For $100. He mentioned a possible trade, and that's where it started. From the first picture got escape from monkey island, diablo II and tribes 2. I also got a rainbow six collector's edition silver box, but it's in worse condition than I thought. Oh well, can't win it all.
He said:
The Shattered Steel I added because it's missing the top part of the inside box and has a little damage (tear) in one if the corners.
I also tosses in Everquest II since the back if the tin box was crushed in
1d
Also The Elder Scrolls anthology which goes for decent money on Ebay I tosses in because I have a copy and this one is only missing the Skyrim disc from the set
So that's what I got. What did I give up in trade you ask, only 3 games. Star Wars Shadows of The Empire new and sealed in box with some slight damage, command & conquer domination pack with box and sealed soundtrack, and zax the alien hunter in box. At what I would have made from them, about $190 - $200 no doubt. Will I make more, planning on keeping a few to my collection. Like I have a new indy game cuz I sold my old mac one, sold my old monkey island, got this one lol. I'm weird, but I can't collect for too long. He mentioned some of the games from the 21 games: don't have paperwork or manuals or something, but all games are there. Would you have done this, or am I the hoarder like trader, getting quantity over quality and now have way more work to do, and my mom should kill me for the space it'll take up lol
Which was the better deal, don't really trade much?
Forgot to mention he also tossed in Warcraft II expansion for mac in box. I guess in terms of that, I prob did get the better deal. The deal for $100 made me go, maybe I'd like it. So not paying anything is a good deal in my opinion, but will I make $200 or more AND keep some things like warcraft II mac, escape from monkey island, diablo II, tribes II, and rainbow six gold if I don't keep the big collector's. Maybe, maybe not. My work for a collection, watch my collection go in a few years, or this will also be a side gig that I'll love to buy, sell and even now trade lol

18-Dec-2022(#213)To be fair, I kinda treat games like scrolls. Some you know what they cast. Some are unknown, and until the time passes, that's when they'll be picking up value. I go by titles, and that's prob too many games to keep. I don't know if I want to keep the monkey island, as it was kinda cartoony, the game, when I played it. Fun, but def a dif game than the previous ones. But I guess I gotta make a bigger collection. My collection is small, mostly of various adventure anthologies, etc new and sealed that are worth prob what I got them at lol. 2 smaller shelves, and one below filled with nba new games from ea. Sold the hockey ones. Not much of a collection anymore. If I had a job and put a good collection, never sold the stuff I had, and had money to buy more. I'd be saying it's my retirement lol

I was one of those cracks when I worked at a brand new goodwill in my area for craps and giggles. We had to rummage thru junk and price whatever we found and then like straight out that scene in wily wonka where the Veruca Salt father’s factory workers were shelling candy bars, we had to stop what were doing and shout out anything valuable we found like “I got a tub of legos!” And run it to the manager’s office to be posted on shopgoodwill.com. When they built this particular goodwill they installed an insane amount of cameras, think the batcave computer, and they hired someone who’s entire shift revolved around watching those cameras and reporting anything out of the ordinary. The employees were watched for shoplifting as much as the customers. I’ve seen less security cameras on military bases

Already had the grey stand, it didn't come with the system.
Seems like someone was angry at their kids or something...it was sitting in a pile of bulk trash (cardboard boxes et al), and the games are hardly anything to write home about, the most expensive title was the Barrel Blast (~$16 CIB on PriceCharting), though I know it was a kid's system because all the discs are scratched (some worse than others, but Barrel Blast doesn't even read past the main menu screen...). Everything works tho, disc drive and all, which is what I was worried about when I picked it up. Thought the worst case would be for parts and such, lol.
The good news is, I was able to test my copy of Fragile Dreams finally, lol. It works, for those of you who were on the fence about getting it as disc only.
Wii is available to anyone who wants a Wii. Complete w/ setups and 2 WiiMotes (WiiMote Plus, I think?) w/ Nunchucks, they are the ones that operate on 2x AA batteries. I just want to give it a good home, since I'm not really one for Nintendo consoles. Rescued a system that would've otherwise gone to the waste dump.

Dirty Harry was $1, calculator was $6, everything else priced as marked. A Goodwill opened up in my parent's town (because they need a 10th thrift store) but video games are $6 (plus that damn 10% sales tax) - thankfully my mom got a senior discount of 20%.
imageEach controller was $5, game was $2. GC is tested and working, have not tried the others.
imageDVD was $2 at a thrift store, everything else was $16 at a pawn shop. You all said 1917 was a great movie so let's find out.

It was pending, and than pending some more, so I inquired again, spoke some Polish cuz his name seemed to ring it, and he was like, I'm prob even worse at polish than you, cuz my spelling sucks I sound it out lol. Anyways, he did mention it was pending due to a friend wanting to pick it up, but his friend isn't even from Toronto, and he's got a way to say something, than you know how it goes, you're stuck holding it forever. He just wanted to declutter. Half life 2 and it's expansion episode one is sealed, those were the 2 only new and sealed games. I take it fallout tactics, alien vs. predator 2 and both rollercoaster tycoons will make for it being worthwhile. Not too far at all of a drive, prob one of the closer rides, but had to stop for a phone call and return at the mall. Was debating putting the half life's into my collection, but I dunno. Not sealed in original boxes, haha, this isn't like winning the lottery. More gas to the cause, and more wares to sell at fair prices for those interested I guess, but I put my better stuff on ebay, and was thinking, would I get more with a local interested party but I price it fair. Maybe an idea to put more of the better stuff locally and get cash in hand for it. All good, I'm gaming through this reality. Won some papa roach tickets, it's time to go to a show! lol

Yeah, and the boxes are in real nice shape. Had a Fallout Tactics, I prob sold for $30 or $40. Now have 1 on ebay, with no manual though, and box isn't that great, lowered price to net me $90 for it. Now I have this, in immaculate shape, manual. Prob going to try to get $130 or so for it. Manuals alone for rarer games usually sell for $30 - $35. Not to mention the condition is just outstanding.
Nice guy, don't know why he had a command and conquer game in french, couple of uk ones in there, but even still, the fallout trilogy will still net at least $10, maybe $20, didn't check. The sealed half lives, selling, just kept both witchers for my collections, one I had, but the Can with french with one less disc, keeping the us one that I got, selling the Can release. Also keeping solder of fortune II. So keeping 3 games, but keeping 1 over the other, so only 2. And that shelf is filled, nothing really, will dive in it when all these other games sell lol.
I like nice big boxes, but I won an alien vs. predator shirt that is too tight for me, got that message when I was in Jamaica, from a contest win, but it was a voucher I coulda banked on, still kinda did for the remainder but def a good time lol. The new half lifes, I'm a full life, the title coulda been better. Not Yet Parted with a sequel Half Reign. Nah, those are way worse, keep it simple, I got no idea, lol. Fallout Tactics, since I long ago departed with it, I'll also depart from it lol. Rollercoaster tycoons, never really liked sim games, I was an adventure game nerd, with some action games to keep the pace up, even on ps3, not just comp. Than got a mac, played diablo III, that was pretty much the last game I remember playing on the computer.

6-Jan-2023(#259)I just nabbed Popeye 2
for $21. Here’s my story.
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/7RQAAOSwDIhjtr1U/s-...[/imgt]
I’ve known about Popeye 2 since The Lonely Goomba made a humorous video about it in the early 2010s. It looked like my thing, so I’ve kept a (pop)eye peeled for it. Shouldn’t be expensive, right?
Popeye 2 is bizarre. You probably haven’t heard of it, and most people haven’t played it. VGPC claims it goes for $18 loose, but $300 CIB. Despite this, loose copies rarely appear on eBay, and when they do, sellers usually call it rare and slap a $40+ price on it. There are some insane prices on this 8-bit novelty game.
I got a random urge to look it up at 2 in the morning, and this copy had just been posted. Seller confirmed beyond a doubt that it was legit (though you can already tell by the yellowing), and I snapped it up. Hope to play it soon.
@Frank You wanted to play it, right? Or am I misremembering?

* 6-Jan-2023(#261)I was never very good at it but I loved Popeye for Colecovision in the 80's. I have it on NES but I have an old system so its very frustrating to get it started so I usually don't bother with it. I wish they had made Popeye 2 for NES as I would've liked to have played it. I know I wouldn't enjoy on Gameboy as those tend to be clunky. I love Ducktales but playing it on game boy just wasn't the same for me to slow and clunky gamplay. Even still I hope you enjoy your Popeye 2 for Gameboy as its a classic character I wish they would bring back to tv and back on video games. Also it seems every game is listed as Rare on Ebay making the word meaningless to me. Or the popular word now on there is Authentic.

I've been lucky and gotten some sweet deals on items that were labeled wrong. But most of the time it is a problem.
eBay's new listing page on desktop is also pretty wonky, and it doesn't really let you select a lot of item specifics anymore. List Similar is the only way I can get it to pick the right platform at times.

All these games are new and sealed in dvd cases or the oversized dvd clamshell cases:
Assassin's Creed Unity x2
The Crew x2
Rift Storm Legion
Prototype 2
Evolve
Borderlands Pre-Sequel
Guess evolve is the biggest prize there, and will def make me $45 back. And I'm glad to pay $5 for creed's unity and put 1 away in my collection. Than the rest is profit. Seemed alright. Passing on a few deals of late, but may get back into it or find a better deal lol
Just looked at it all again, and seems it's hard to get that much for it with it being at $45 CAD with shipping. Either way, double up and didn't have to go far out. There's lots of double ups. This one shipped, I was debating cancelling, but than I'm like, just do it lol

* 24-Jan-2023(#279)Ok, so got the tracking number. Here's the scoop, he had 2 games for sale, one quake II mission pack ground zero new in box, and a use doom 3 resurrection of evil. I have a doom 3 I put away in my collection, so decided to buy the 2nd game. Both were $10 each lol. The first, once I checked ebay.ca, I saw he might have saw the price of new sealed in jewel. Did some more searching, and noticed nextremities or something like that is selling for about $250. Ground Zero saw a new uk, $618 on ebay. Saw used in box, uk for 199. Than a used uk for like 108. Prices vary, but I think I should put an auction and put it at $600. I'll make $500, gave the dude $30 for shipping both, it's prob closer to $20 or $25, but I was like whatever. The resurrection of evil is going in my collection, and the new quake is going for sale. The person that cancelled on me, as it was like 25 minutes away from there, and in the area, postponed it. Either way, awesome deal no doubt. Prob my rarest acquisition, and I did have a new deus ex that I sold for way less than it's selling for now lol. Good time to get it. Thoughts, for US release, worth more than $600. I am unsure, but that seems like a fair price and see if I get watchers, than 1 or no bids, if more, score, put it as a buy it now.
Pretty stoked, but may take a while to leave my shelf.

Today, I noticed 2, well I tried for 3 deals, two pc related, but so far, didn't check - just got back - but bought a ps3 console with one controller - needed it if I'm ever to use the super slim I got - and hdmi cable, power source and charging cable. It's a CechL01 and at $80 it came with some games - god of war collection, god of war origins collection no manual, aliens colonial marines, castlevania lords of shadow no manual, aliens vs. predator but it's the UK edition, and mass effect 2. I figured I could easily offload the 2 god of wars for $50 already, making it a deal for $30. Keeping the controller, might keep mass effect 2, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to playing video games on ps3 again. It's on the table, here and there, get something else to do to change the pace, we'll see, no promises but finally have a controller lol

It's currently valued at $27.13 cart-only, so that extra penny went toward the slightly beaten-up box. This is the kind of auction I like to see--an effortless win with no opposition for an old, novelty Nintendo game, with the original box/manual accompanying it. Had seven other watchers, so I'm surprised no one bothered to snipe. Can't complain, of course.

The G, then
in the top left corner, under their screen name is the gamerscore - how many achievement points that account earned.
The key thing, once you get a controller will be to see what's installed on it and is owned by that account and thus available for you to play. That'll be under 'My games & apps' - you'll want to go down to full library and see in the main panel what's under Owned Games.

* 29-Jan-2023(#293)Guess I didn't make that "good" of a deal on the ps3, but decided to keep it over the super slim as it can stand, so than, it takes up less room. Tomorrow selling the slim and some games for $85. Bought another ps3 for $80, used up one fare throughout cuz there is a 2 hour transfer window, and on the way back, took a transfer in case it would be over, and will sell the games for give or take $50-$55. So will make $50 at least and got a controller and switched ps3. I won't download too many games, and prob won't play all that much. The other games are from the lot I got an ok to buy a long while back, still got a ton of games for it left, both xbox 360 and ps3, and added 3 in for cheap, but wanted to make the deal better cuz that's what I do when they buy off me. The more you buy, the better deals you get. Tried out some games yesterday, and keeping most wanted, sega sonic all stars racing, an nba game that froze halfway through the install, so I was like keeping it will try again, but got another nba game, and nhl game. Gotta get some more games to try when I get bored. We'll see.

I couldn't decide on which model PS3 I liked more, so I decided on all 3.

31-Jan-2023(#295)Any Lego fans here? Picked these up at lunch:
imageimageTop two sets are brand new (although the Fortress has been opened nothing has been removed), bottom two of the large sets look to be previously assembled. The mini sets I will have to take a closer look, I do not believe the pieces inside match the box. Paid about $150 for everything.

Wowzer! That's some vintage LEGO! I don't envy the price, but it's very cool you managed to acquire those CIB!

Awesome! Those are some real vintage sets over there. Very nice. Lego is great. Where'd you find those? Just curious.

31-Jan-2023(#298)At a local thrift store. Put together the Wizard and the Wagon sets and so far only two total pieces are missing. Definite win so far.

Yeah, definite win. I like when people from GTZ have great finds :)
Which pieces are missing? We have some random mixed Lego. Maybe those pieces are mixed in.

Sounds like fun :)
If at the end there are pieces missing let me know which, and I'd be happy to look through our container.

Nice! Pretty sure I had the top left of the pic as a kid.
