Do you guys think there's a chance of Sony making previous VR titles backward compatible? The small library of PSVR games I've already collected would definitely incentivize getting the new one.

I know they confirmed there isn't any at launch, but do you think it's something Sony might add down the road, or just expect people to re-purchase PSVR2 compatible versions like they are with Swordsman?

That's good to know! I guess if/when I decide the time is right, I'll have to check my library to see how many will be supported.

Ok but I had to change my playstation user account email since it was on an old email I no longer have access too. So they MIGHT have emailed that, and I didn't change it until after I submitted for a pre-order, I did again when I changed my e-mail. But that was AFTER they already went on sale. I have a feeling I will miss out on this one.

I'll hold out hope. But if I miss out, I will stubbornly not buy any video games for several months (not like I need to) and then end up building up my bank account due to my angry stubbornness. So it will work out either way, lol.

Alternatively, I could see you using that money towards funding a complete Gex collection.

Or a near complete Call of Duty Collection. Ohhhhh, . . me. I actually have all 3

gex games mint complete now and playing Enter the Gecko. Great games!

Do you have them on all platforms? I just have 1 and 3 on gameboy and 1 on PS1.

I'm more of a streamlined collector. So like with that Tactics Ogre remaster coming out, I think I prefer the PSP version, so I will buy that. No double dipping in other words. If you mean the GB ones are a bit different, then what I mean by streamlined is I just want to own and play the ones I consider the best of the series. And that's Gex 2 and Gex 3 IMO.

My GF grew up playing it on 3DO and claims that one to be superior. Meanwhile I grew up with the first game on Game Boy.

I think Gex actually originated on the 3DO didn't it? THEN it was ported to PS1. I mean it's ok with Dana Gould's quips but it's not a very fun 2D platformer. the two 3D platformers are my jam though.

Yep I also believe 3DO was the initial release.

I need to track down one of the 3D ones to try out. 3D platformers are my jam!

It's a PS1 platformer so go in with realistic expectations. It's no mario or banjo. Heck it's not even a Crash. But the lame quips make it a unique game. The variety of themed areas are pretty nice.

So what games you all getting at launch? Horizon is a no brainer but I like the look and style of Tentacular. Cosmonious High is from the vacation sim people so definitely getting that as well.

Very likely not getting one at launch, but if I were, Horizon and the Rush of Blood sequel would be bought alongside it for sure. I haven't looked at what else is available at launch.

I haven’t looked at any of the launch games besides what was shown during the state of play. I’ll probably grab a bunch of them. I’m starved for some high quality VR games

I was late to the game with PSVR1 and finally got a v2 model in December 2021. I went in pretty hard and bought/traded for 20 games and played 18 of them within the last 12 months. I now understand the limitations, but am still a fan of how it all works. Excited for PSVR2, but will wait until there is more than 2 games I want to play (Horizon and Switchback VR).

Still trying to find another processer unit V2 so I can switch the headset between rooms

Yeah I'm waiting for a bigger PSVR2 library too. I have way too many unplayed original PSVR games to keep me busy until then, including a couple I just bought last week. I'd be lying if I said I'm not at least a little tempted to just pre-order it just for the sake of pre-ordering it, but that'd just be dumb...even though I'm no stranger to doing dumb things.

I hope they make Rush of Blood compatible. But I think with Horizon, Switchback VR, and No Man's Sky I'm going to have tons of fun with PSVR2. it's higher res, I think they increased the field of view slightly, and it's got all sorts of neat stuff like finger tracking, better motion tracking, haptic feedback on the controllers and helmet. So it's gonna be fun!

True, will help to have better graphics while still having 4K at the point you are focusing. Then there are all sorts of cool stuff. Like you can have an interaction with a commander or interrogator that tells you to look them in the eye. And react differently depending if you do or not.

One thing I thought about the haptic feedback in the headset. It will be perfect for making you feel that soft trickle of rain on your forehead.

I prefer physical for everything too, but VR is the one exception for me, because 1) it's more annoying having to switch discs when there's a headset involved (as small an issue as that is) and 2) there are a lot of VR games that never get a physical version or are much cheaper digital.
