Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

13-Dec-2022(#141)Yeah, I really liked Trover. I hear that in High on Life there is a setting to lower the amount of talking the guns do. Default is constantly, but you can decrease that if it's too grating.

13-Dec-2022(#143)Trover was great. Now, I'm interested in High On Life too.

high on live is a crazy comedy shooter where your guns talk to you.

14-Dec-2022(#145)There was a Day One patch last night, so i didn't play it.
The first ACTUAL boss battle is VERY FRUSTRATING, but at the same time, very old school. High on Life is definitely a game made by gamers for gamers. It reminds me of a Bioshock Infinite boss battle where you have to constantly keep moving.
Also once you get the talking knife the game gets THAT much better. I haven't even gotten the 2nd gun yet.
If you're an achievement hunter, there's a great one early on and i dont want to spoil it and the NAME of the Achievement makes fun of a very popular video game franchise.
Yes, the combat is very...meh, but its fun and funny and looks great. I actual combat itself reminds me of Borderlands, theres generally 3 or 4 different enemy types in each semi open world, with different skins and voices; tiny ones, flying ones, medium sized grunts and big fudgeers.
If you cannot stand the voice of Justin Roiland, i would recommend not playing this or turning voices off. Your main gun sounds like Morty and just makes fun of you the entire time and makes very gross sexual innuendos.

DUDE!
I'm so excited.
That's another game i don't have to buy. When everyone was crap talking no AAA releases on Gamepass, these are the games i was talking about!
I just HOPE its not TOO open world. I just want a mostly linear single player campaign. A solid 20 hours would be fine.
Looks like equal parts Bioshock and Singularity with surrealism and Fallout style Soviet retro futurism.
Super effing stoked.

Aliens Fireteam Elite was super fun, but i could never find anyone to play it with, just me and 2 bots.

* 14-Dec-2022(#148)I loved that Aliens game but hit a difficulty spike that I just couldn't get past. I know they want you to grind the first few levels over and over to improve your gear but even doing that a little I couldn't get past a certain end-level portion by myself. I think there are like 4 levels, split up into a few chapters? I believe it was the last portion of the 3rd level.

it took me DAYS to get past that final Alien attack where they come from ALL ANGLES
glad i'm not alone.
thats what made Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 so fun, even a rookie with bots could finish a level. It'd be rough, but you could get through it.

Someone will always crap talk GP and PS+. They both have award winning games but if it’s not anything they like it “sucks”

I had the same issue (I have an XSX and my son has an XSS) and you need to set your son's Xbox as the "home console". Login to his xbox and set it as "home" somewhere in the settings. You can only switch this like 3-5 times a year. Setting it as home links your account (and GPU) to the system and will be the default place things install remotely if you do that from the website/app.
So although your account is on his Xbox, since it's the home console he doesn't need to login as you any more and can do everything as his user and account.
Then on your xbox, simply logging in as your user will allow you to do everything.
If you have 3 Xboxes the above still applies except that on the 2 non-home systems you'll have to login as you to access your GPU.

There are so many to choose from! One of the categories is even "arcade".

Tunic was excellent, is my GotY likely, but I don't play a ton of newest releases.

31-Dec-2022(#169)Yep @bonham2 - I don't know the exact external drive I have, bought it too long ago and don't feel like looking behind my XSX to verify. I also have this one that would work, I just don't have it connected to anything:
https://smile.amazon.com/WD_Black-Drive-External-C...I have a 2TB one I bought off a fellow GTZer for my PS4 as well. Basically it doesn't have to be 4TB and with the XSX you don't need to use SSDs if you don't want. For my X1X that I still use, I'm looking to connect up an external SSD as the internal drive is slow and I've seen some research that suggests opening the system to replace the internal drive is barely, if even at all faster vs. an external SSD. Since I use the X1X mainly for 360 games and indies, I'm thinking of trying a 480GB micro drive I got on clearance from Walmart like 2 years ago.

Trouble is with how MS and Sony I suppose handled this latest generation, many games that have launched in the past ~2 years aren't truly Next-Gen and don't have that requirement. But it's a mixed bag. Infernax required install in the internal drive, but it was more/less a 16-bit era title, but Bugsnax doesn't, nor The Ascent, GunGrave GORE, Naraka or even Horizon 5 - as it has a non-Series version.
Without a 4TB drive I think I would find being a GP sub really annoying. I've got around 200 games installed onto my XSX and sure some will only play on the internal yet I have moved them to the external, but moving is a TON faster vs. re-downloading. Point is, for ~%50 of the cost for the 1TB expansion card, you could get a 4-5TB external USB HDD and have lots of games on it with most of those playable - depending on your library I suppose. And even if 80% of the games you have require being on internal, like I said you're looking at a min-2 to transfer vs. redownloading and the management is pretty decent. You can go to the 'My Games & Apps' menu, then Manage and Storage devices. Then click on the drive and you get a menu to move things and can move many at once.

1-Jan-2023(#173)Generally speaking I like, and have no issues with, leveraging an external SSD for last-gen and general storage. Moving files isn't always fast though. There are times when it blazes but other times when it looks like I could actually download it faster. If it was always fast I would have zero complaints, but the truth is that it isn't. But moving games while I'm wfh is hardly a hassle and it'll be ready by the time I clock out.
I don't play a lot of games at the same time (maybe 3-5) so shuffling seldom used games to external until I am ready for them works well.
longhornsk57
1-Jan-2023(#174)after putting a gen4 M2 into my PS5, I can never go back to moving games back and forth. This is a HUGE win for Sony to not have some BS super expensive storage expansion. Also why I prefer my Series X and third party non GPU games on my PS5 (also the controller is better).

3-Jan-2023(#175)I was surprised with how many games I was able to install on the Series S. I hit the cap once, and it was only because of all the bloated fudging DLC from AC Odyssey, which I was thrilled to have an excuse to delete. After I axed that I could put another seven games from Game Pass on the system and I still had 25% space left.

8-Jan-2023(#177)I was browsing the game pass store and watched a trailer for another overheard action looking game that looked interesting, I think it was another game with animals as characters. I was on game pass this morning and couldn't find it or remember the name. I am thinking it is some indie game but not certain
I am loving how you can just stream a game install of installing it. I got the year of Ultimate deal for 33 on Slickdeals, amazing deal!
Anxiouz
9-Jan-2023(#178)I think "overheard" is a typo? Biomutant hit GP recently. Was that it?
And I think the streaming is cool but it's def grainy and I always prefer to just DL the game. I do use the streaming to "play" a given game to earn MS Rewards though. Love that I can just stream it to start the game and then abandon it.

I wasn't necessarily complaining, nor sure if you were referencing me, but I did set Yakuza 0 to install just the other night as my selection of installed GP titles was feeling smaller as of late.
I will not complain about GP in general as I've tried, played and beat a bucket load of games via the service in the 3+ years I've had it such that it's been well worth my money. I've also used the Live to GP dollar method twice so it has been a great price period. I've tried games that I learned quickly that I was glad I didn't buy, I played games for basically free that seemed interesting, and I beat games that I likely otherwise wouldn't have even considered. I'm actually okay with the selection shrinking a little vs what I want to play on it, since it'll give me a little more time to focus on the games I actually purchased.
