At this point I think they would be better off canceling it, based on how poorly received recent superhero live service games like Avengers and Four People Not Named Batman in a Batman Game were.
Or just start over from concept stage, and reuse any art assets.
Yes I'm sure thr publisher has sunk a significant amount of money already, but comic book IPs are largely timeless. It's nice to get something out to coincide with a major movie release, but Suicide Squad 2 was two years ago so it isn't a great movie tie-in if that's what they were aiming for.
The review scores will scare people away, sales will be lower than the publisher wants, and after grudge-fulfilling their season pass obligations with the minimum effort to not be sued for false advertising, the game will be dead in a year.
Suicide Squad was never an IP that would be popular enough to sustain a long term live service model.
