What games is everyone hoping to get that deep, fat Black Friday discount this year? Mine is below:

Street Fighter 6
Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon
Ghostrunner 2
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Sonic Superstars
Lords of The Fallen remake
Dark Pictures Anthology The Devil In Me
Mortal Kombat 1
BloodPuppetX

Sonic like last year. (Still haven't beaten the first world in Frontiers.) Besides that, I'll just grab whatever gets a steep discount that looks interesting to me.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
Cereza and the Lost Demon
Pikmin 3 Deluxe
Fire Emblem Engage
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Bootcamp
Metroid Prime Remastered
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Any of those would be nice for me.

I'd like to see the PC versions of these games on sale:

Spiderman Remastered
Spiderman Miles Morales
Final Fantasy 7R Intergrade
Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion
Baldur's Gate 3

I feel like all except BG3 are due to go below $30.

There's not really a whole lot that I'm looking forward to this year. Maybe some kind of sale on PSVR2 might convince me to finally grab one. I'm surprised (and kinda proud tbh) that I've been able to hold off on buying it for this long already.

edit: To clarify, there are plenty of games I'm looking forward to (Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake II, Resident Evil 4 Remake for example), but with my backlog being what it is, I just don't need them this holiday because I won't get around to any of them for a long while. By the time I would get to any of those games, it'll be easy to find them regularly at or less than whatever their Black Friday/Cyber Monday prices end up being.

I've got quite a bit of money set aside for sale this time of year. However I am not planning on buying new games. Going to support the local game store here as always and will likely buy some number of blu rays.

Hit me up if you luck into a reasonably priced Silent Bomber. wink

I’m hoping for a good deal on Sonic Superstars sometime before EvilleCon next spring.

What are you running now? I built a PC off of used parts for about $360. Nothing special, but has room to grow. Had to do some deals to put it all together, but that's part of the fun for me. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/AJBnSD/saved/CYfW99

I'd love a cheap OLED TV. I already have a 4K HDR TV, so I feel like the next progression would be OLED...though it would probably just be 60Hz if affordably priced. I've seen the LG A2 for $600 on Best Buy recently.

But yeah...basic 4K TVs are now a dime a dozen now. A 50-inch one was $150 just a couple weeks ago. Wouldn't surprise me if we saw them for $100 on Black Friday.

OLEDs rock. I love my C9, though my wife uses it way more than I do. Hard to beat the picture, especially off angle. They certainly are a premium on price now that 4K is more/less standard.

If not for the burn in risk I'd already have one. I know people like to pretend it isn't an issue, but it is when you live with someone who falls asleep with the roku home screen on.

There are defense mechanisms in place against burn ins tho on OLED’s well my LG OLED that I’ve noticed whenever you were idle like sometimes I’ll let my video game home screen become idle, and the screen will turn very dim, where you can barely even see what’s on the screen until you are active again also, there are screensavers which you can enable that turn the screen completely black with just like fireworks that pop up every 30 seconds or so to let you know the TV is still on. I have had 2 OLEDs. One for 3 years and another for about 7 years now. And not once have I experienced that even with leaving the TV idle numerous times over the years

My C9 is over 4 years old now and my wife LOVES to turn it on when she gets her day started and not turn it off until the late night hours - which drives me insane. But I've never had any issue with burn in, pretending or not wry smile
We have DirecTV and 90% of time it does an alright job with putting up screen savers and ads if she pauses a recording. We also use the smart features some, like Plex or Prime video and the fireworks feature that Talon mentioned will work there. I only have my older X1X hooked to it for gaming unfortunately as I got punted to another room, but that system I know will dim out the screen after a period of inactivity. Burn-in hasn't ever been on my mind... general screen degradation from my wife running it 8-14hrs straight per day has been though wince

Yeah I think the burn in protection just burns all the other pixels to even them out. You eventually get a dimmer TV. Direct sunlight and heat are enemies of the panel.

An i7-3770k. I'm not trying to build a top of the line system, but the CPU I've got is extremely old already.

I've looked at local Facebook sellers but they're all idiots that try to hawk eight year old HP prebuilts as gamer systems... so. Yeah. Sorry for the OT. :p

I didn't have much luck on FB marketplace, got most of my parts on OfferUp. Did a quick check around Calexico and found this: https://offerup.co/SKXZfS398Db. If you could talk him down to about $400, you'd have something that will last you for a while for a great price.

There's really only one game I'm looking to get at the moment: Mario Bros. Wonder.

But with the release date being so close to Black Friday, I don't expect the game to be given a discount. Bundled with a console though? I could see that maybe happening. Though I don't think Nintendo would need to make a console bundle in order to push sales of Mario Wonder. With the game being released close to the holiday season, it will probably be a big seller anyway.

Extremely good lightning deals will fill up fast. Say 10,000 available. So after it reaches the 10k limit, a few thousand past go into waitlist. It’s expected some people will decide to pass after accepting or their cart will timeout. It then hits those in the waitlist.

if you're already in the maybe column on FF XVI I'd say skip it. Other than the Kaiju-like boss battles, the monster hunter-lite hunts, and ninja & knight mini bosses it's pretty average. Doesn't do anything new and a lot of the story beats are familiar, especially if you've already watched Game of Thrones and Attack on Titan. The game feels like pressing a few buttons, cutscene, rinse, and repeat (which most games really are, but you really feel it with this one in particular). And it also was kinda weird that added a female character that looked like Zidane (FFIX) was a grown adult woman

wait until it's $20

They sometimes will run the same sale as competitors and people refer to it as price match. I believe there is also a link on items to report to them that someone else is having a sale.

Overall the game deals for physical have been pretty meh this year. Some decent prices in the Sony digital sale though.

Agreed. I mean who will pay $40 for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is only a $10 discount? Ubisoft games usually almost are half price around Black Fridays. I was expecting a $30 or less price for that one.
