Community yard sales have started back up here in Baltimore, so I'm back out there again. This past weekend there was a community sale I was looking forward to, but I left after half-an-hour as it was swarmed by so many people it was causing traffic jams. I'm glad I did, though, as I was able to get to a yard sale near my home before anyone else and get first crack at some games and CDs. The Gamecube, games, and controllers were $45. Unfortunately the Gamecube looks like it has a bad power board, but everything else looks good so far. The PS4 was free since it wouldn't boot, but I booted it in safe mode and updated the system software and now it seems to work fine. The CDs were $15 and were a pick up for my brother since he's collecting CDs these days. I kind of had to guess what to get him, but he said there was some good stuff in there and was happy to grab them.

Holy šŸ„!

Awesome finds.

Would be cool to find a great yard sale sometime.

Cool finds all, keep 'em coming.

Just went down, as it was delivered 2 days ago...to get my unreal in box for Mac.. He shipped in bubble wrap...in a padded envelope. Obviously some damage to the box, bit creased, and no manual inside. But cd is brand new and box is still decent, no rips. Still should make something, more to think about. I thought it was common knowledge to ship boxes in boxes, but I guess that has escaped me this time lol, to render it as a, hey gotta be this way right? - kinda thing

I saw a picture awhile back on here of a gamecase that was shipped loose with I think either an envelope attached to it or a paper on it. Something like that. Very ridiculous.

Had another good Saturday here in Baltimore! Grabbed the games in the pic for $25 - probably overpaid but it was early in the day and I was hungry for a find. The board games came later in the day - they were $50 total but are in excellent condition. I'm hoping some of my tabletop friends can find a use for them. Lastly, the VHS tapes are the big score of the day. Lots of rare horror and raunchy comedy titles in there and I got the box for $30. I'm not a VHS guy myself, but I know enough about them that I didn't want to risk these going in the trash and I know plenty of cinephiles that'll be happy to give them a good home.

My copy of Splatoon 2 came in. It was as advertised by the 3rd party seller on Walmart. It's the PEGI version and the case has a little damage with a crack. The cart is in great shape and works fine. Not bad for less than $10.

Ooh, definitely play that! Itā€™s a fantastic game, though maybe a bit more when the player base was stronger. But thatā€™s not the gameā€™s fault.

I finally got this, one of the rarest US DVD games. I've only seen it for sale three times over the past four years. And my god does it suck so much.

TL;DR it's Family Feud, based off a short lived Latino version aired in the US. Weirdly, the disc is titled "FAMILYFEUDMX"... which makes me wonder if they intended to release this there as well.

Went to a large community sale this morning, was able to walk it and find a few things before the rain came:

I got all of the PS4 games for $10. The DS games and Ichi were $1. Wii Sports is sealed and was $2. Elm Street Collection was $3. Tetris DS is missing the game though.

I nabbed a sideways Wii console for $7.50 this morning. Let garage sale season begin!

Tested and works. Itā€™s in adequate shape, especially after I clean it a bit. Itā€™s the redesign that drops GCN compatibility, sadly. But I like having a pile of Wii consoles in my back pocket that I can sell, trade, or give to random friends. If there are any takers, Iā€™m happy to do business (not for $7.50, of course).

Had another decent weekend yard saling here in Baltimore! Saturday was the day of my favorite community sale of the year in a pretty little neighborhood tucked away from the places most of the other yard salers go to. Even if I don't find anything, I always have a pleasant time. But I did, indeed, find some things! The games in the first pic were $10 for everything and Hit & Run is always a good find. Everything in the second pic was just weird stuff I found around the rest of the neighborhood for a few dollars here and there - some I'll be keeping and some will be prizes for my movie night. I also left my number with a few people who have games - no one ever contacts me again but here's hoping someday it'll happen.

image

image

On Sunday a local clean-out guy I know had a yard sale as well. Last year I got a bunch of good stuff from him for like 50% eBay prices. This year he didn't have nearly as much gaming stuff, but I put together the stuff in the pic below, he asked for $20, and I left happy with what I got. Unfortunately trying to test Revenge of the Ninja led to me finding out that my Sega CD might need some repairs, but I need to do some more testing to be sure.

I got the following for $12.50.
[imgt w=1536 h=2048]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GMqpw0wWAAEv-cB?format...[/imgt]

The Switch case is missing cartridge holders, but it can indeed protect a Switch. The DS folder can hold 20 games. The Super Mario Bros. Movie cup is rather amusing, and the Pikachu there is clearly from a PokĆ©mon anniversary merch lineā€”the pastel color used on it matches that anniversaryā€™s color scheme.

Not pictured is the $40 Xbox One, which I secured for a friend. Iā€™m content with my White Xbox One S, but he had none. I like sticking my neck out for my allies.

Picked up some good stuff today. Going back to the same guy tomorrow, he is bringing me more to look at. I told him I was motivated to buy, so hopefully he really brings some winners. Paid 190 for everything.

@Gypsy Flea market vendor. Some of his stuff he looks up, some of it he just throws a random price on. So Hades, Mario 3d, and Wario Ware were 145 total. Then Obscure, Rumble Roses, and the two Genesis games were each 15 dollars.

I've been buying games from this guy for literally 15 years so I get good prices from him too.

I am really curious to see what he brings out tomorrow, he bought a massive stash recently so he is still trying to figure out what all he has available.

Rain put a damper on the couple of big community sales I was looking forward to this past weekend, but I drove through anyway just to check. A few people were out and I managed to snag a few things for $8 total. Tenchu Z is the find of the day and going into the collection.

I had a pretty good haul last weekend. No pics (mostly all gone now anyway) but grabbed 50+ star wars books for $10, some crappy wii games for 50 cents each and then a bunch of dirt cheap (mostly 10 cents each) blu rays and tv series on dvd. Ended up getting $117 out of the star wars books. I know a few collectors and sold stuff at good rates to get it moved. Book store happily took the remainder.

Well, I wasn't finding any good local deals, but than typed the French variant of computer games = jeux d'ordinateur

I found like 100 games or more for $80. I didn't want them all, would have been expensive, but saw Transformers War for Cybertron in the mix. I generously said I'll give you $15 for it, + $6 to cover lettermail shipping. So $21 in total. Now I was waiting til he said he shipped it to share, but whatever, I was like, gotta share it already haha. Then he goes, I have and found a new copy and will send you the new copy. Now before I was about to say, you have 2, let me get the other one, I looked and the whole lot was taken. So I'm guessing someone knew also of war for cybertron, and that game alone was worth what he paid for all the games. It was in Quebec City.

Anyways, hopefully it comes. And today, check my emails, won Dane Cook tickets. Lots of tickets, but not really too many I'm like YEAH, THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME, hopefully win some more summer shows as this one's in December.

Hey, yeah. I enter contests too, but not everyday. Do the one time monthly - do a run, but missed out last month, still delayed. Still been doing all the local radio stations each week pretty much, and I guess since I started, won 1 set of tickets for every 2 week period. Pretty good, but I like live music. Seems to be better ambience to go, smoke a j, and see what the people are doing. First show is Amanda Marshall, guess I'll go, she's alright to give a listen to and blaze, also won barbie the musical tickets, Shakira, and now Dane Cook. Already been at a Kooks show, but that wasn't that great. Still, new method is: use 1 ticket, sell the other, get some prerolls, transportation and a smaller snack like meal, and I'm golden with this arrangement. Now I just gotta win more shows I actually want to see. I enter them all, don't pick and choose until I know what I won lol

Finally had a dry weekend here in Baltimore, so I went to a rescheduled community sale. Spent a few hours walking around and got plenty of weird little tchotkes and stuff for the kiddos, but no games. On the way back, however, I spotted a random sale a few streets away from home and figured I'd check it out. I'm VERY glad I did, because as I approached I saw a bunch of good PS1 and PS2 titles sitting there. The seller also had some random toys that I figured I'd grab for a friend and some interesting movies that I figured my cinephile friends would like. Everything was kind of dirty and the seller just wanted stuff gone since they were moving, so I got all of the games, movies, and action figures in the pics below for $30. I spent the weekend cleaning stuff and unfortunately almost everything has at least a little water damage, plus some of the discs are bad (e.g. FF7 Disc 1 has some rot). Additionally, some of it still smells a little funky but I'm hoping some time in my non-funky basement can help that. Still, definitely worth it for the chance to add some new stuff to my collection!

Oh yeah, I love them. My cult movie night shows a lot of old Mexican wrestling movies so I figured they'll be a good raffle prize next time we show one. And thanks for the tip on the ukelele! I picked it up to donate to my kid's school, but if they don't want it I'll try reaching out here.

A local documentary called "Muskrat Lovely." It's about a combination beauty pageant and muskrat-skinning competition that takes place down on the Eastern Shore here in Maryland.

I went to the flea market, but the booth I usually buy stuff at didn't bring much of anything. Mostly clothes, only about a quarter of a table of other stuff. I was going to leave feeling all defeated, until I noticed another booth moving to another area, setting up for tomorrow. I saw they had two boxes with "Movies" written on them.

I spoke to the employee and asked if I could check the boxes, he said fine, and he'd call his boss to make sure what he'd ask for each disc. I started to dig around and found a lot of movies that were damaged or just moldy, but I ended up picking out about 12. I cross referenced with my spreadsheet and only ended up grabbing six.

One of those was something that I didn't really think would cost much: Mortal Kombat Conquest. I didn't really think much of it until I looked up the price on ebay and ... yow. $75-100 bucks for a complete set. So I nabbed that. I also found another DVD that's worth a bit of money.

In the end I grabbed the three Disney movies above (all, surprisingly, not in my collection) and Color Out Of Space was a surprise find. I love Cage. :p

The other thing in the photo is the last of my DVD game purchases. I was expecting a giant board game sized box, but it turned out to be... tiny. The disc inside was literally in a DiscSaver case...

I got this for $20.50. Not pictured was the $3 cotton candy some kids were making. NSMBWii was $10 on its ownā€”not a steal, but not a bad enough price to reject. The copy I gave my brother a few years ago disappeared, so I might just give it to himā€¦ unless someone here wants it more.
