Summary

After smoking a quarter-ounce of "New York's finest herb," the two begin to embark on a journey to feed their munchies: a road trip to White Castle!

Description

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle is actually one of the best stoner movies to hit the streets since Dave Chapelle's flick Half Baked. Mind you, this is not just a stoner movie and can be appreciated by many different movie-goers - in particular stoners and teenagers. But this comedy just about has it all.

The film begins as we see both men ending their Friday. Kumar (Kal Penn; Van Wilder) has just finished his first four years of college and is going through an interview to start Med school. Harold (John Cho; American Pie trilogy) is ending the day having all his work dumped on him by some unfriendly co-workers - but they have one thing in common: they both want to get high. After smoking a quarter-ounce of "New York's finest herb," the two get the munchies (naturally) and start to ponder on what to eat. Finally, they come to the conclusion that White Castle is the only place to feed their urges. During this trip they encounter everything from a couple of swingers (boil-covered "Freakshow," and his sexy wife), a "nerd's" dorm party and smart-mouthed cops...all merely side-tracking them from their destination: White Castle.

Of course this movie has a lot of "gross-out" humor and looks to me more like they're targeting more of a teenage-based audience, but what the hell, movies are supposed to be fun and this movie IS fun. Many times I found myself laughing so hard that tears were coming from my eyes and I could hardly catch my breath - yes, it is this funny. I seen the unrated edition, so I'm not sure of the differences, but this was without a doubt one of the funniest, most immature comedies I've seen in quite some time. This is the kind of movie that you rent (or buy), get some buddies together, have a few beers and a 'lil sticky-icky and sit back and enjoy yourselves.

This movie was what I've been waiting for for an extremely long time. I haven't laughed out loud to a comedy in YEARS. In the tradition of such comical-gems as American Pie and Half Baked, this is a comedy that'll have you rolling on the floor. After two viewings, I found myself quoting lines to friends and vice-versa.

I can't give this movie anything but a 9/10 (delete one point for the guys singing toward the end). If you're a stoner then this movie is a MUST - if you love comedies, this movie is a MUST. If you're kinda conservative, obviously this movie isn't for you. Don't mean to blab on and on, but I just can't get enough of this movie!
