I have received! My Santa did great! I’m a lover of hot sauce (hot stuff in general) and to be fair I did state the hotter the better and I soooo appreciate they delivered from that perspective. I’m that guy that eats hot Sauce on everything. I’m currently working through Tabasco brand scorpion sauce and I’m no stranger to the Carolina reaper.

I tried the two beef jerky bags on the right in the picture. Top one is scorpion and bottom is reaper. I went reaper first. Good flavor could be a daily driver tbh. The scorpion…. You’ll notice it says powder. Meaning all jerky is covered in scorpion powder. I don’t think I’ve ever had it like this before. That crap is hot! I mean probably the hottest I’ve ever had, hands down. It literally took 10 minutes for my mouth to stop screaming. I had to drink milk… I never have to drink milk. Holly smokes!

Also Tactics ogre for Nintendo Switch ! Never played this game before but I love me some strategy games. Thanks again Santa love my gifts!

My list was simple this year, and had several options to choose from. My Santa went above and beyond, and completed multiple options! Super awesome of them, and I'm really grateful and happy for that. Thanks again Santa, you rock! yes

Freaking loved Warehouse 13!! Nice there's a complete series out. I actually don't remember if I saw the whole series though...

Received a week of subtime that was definitely from my Santa (with a note) - thank you!
Then just received another week with a “Merry Christmas” note - thank you as well!
(Hopefully seasonal cheer and my info didn’t get sent to multiple folks!)

I went to Walmart this morning and everyone was very polite and very very CALM!!! I was in there on Tuesday and that was not the case at all. I was shocked they didn't have any deals at all in store on any DVDs so it was pretty worthless being there. I've never seen a Walmart like this before. I guess either people are changing or they know Santa is watching so they're on their best behavior.

I know he would never ever say anything about this but John saved my little girl's Christmas many years back.

She wanted a certain doll called a La-La-Loopsey (I think that is how it was spelled). They are these plastic dolls with button eyes. My daughter really wanted one with a certain type of hair and I couldn't find it anywhere. I posted my plea and John found one in his area, shipped it to me and wouldn't take more than cost for it.

I never forget favors like that and I still hope to return the favor to him someday.

I think there are definitely people out there, even strangers, who will go out of their way for others. I know someone who seriously went all out for a secret santa who he didn't know at all. For a stranger on the internet. He bought for him all sorts of things, and not cheap either. Complete stranger. He just wanted to make him happy during the holidays.

And there are people here who will go out of their way for other members of the site.

The love isn't dead.

Yes, I'm not denying that there are those out there who will be stingy and grab everything off the shelf at the store, but not everyone is like that.

Man that was over eight years ago. Craziness. Love that you remember it! I started on this site when I was 25, single, and living in New York. Now I’m married with three kids in North Carolina. Haven’t been actively collecting since my oldest was born eight years ago, though I still play plenty. Not much of a poster here anymore but I’m still always lurking. It’s amazing that this site has been a part of my life for so long, and now I finally got a chance to meet someone I’ve considered a friend for years. Long live GameTZ!

Better late than never, it's time for another High Roller Secret Santa gift exchange! This is still technically an unofficial gift exchange, so please keep that in mind!

Any subscriber without a current BTR that has earned a Gold Silver Star (Silver Star) is eligible to sign up (I know the official Secret Santa allows bronze, but since this is a higher value exchange, I’m being pickier with who gets in!)

How to participate:
check Post here in the thread that you would like to participate!
check Send me a PM titled "High Roller Secret Santa 2023 – Registration"
check The context of the PM must include your address and want list. Please send me your want list ASAP, as that will ensure your partner receives it in a timely manner.
check Update all of your Wanted lists (on the site here) and send me that list of wants through the same PM titled "High Roller Secret Santa 2023"
check After you ship your gift, go back to the same PM titled "High Roller Secret Santa 2023" and provide any needed tracking information. You can optionally also send your partner anonymous subtime with a message.
check After you receive your gift, go back to the PM "High Roller Secret Santa 2023" and say "received" and then be sure to thank your Santa in this topic!

Details:
check Signups are open now and will continue until Thursday November 30th. Partners will then be assigned and PM'd out within the following couple of days. Gifts must be received by Saturday, December 30th
checkThe target gift value for this exchange is $50 USD. Gifts MUST be worth a minimum of $50 US not including shipping.
check Every effort should be made to send a complete item. If you are sending something used, it should be complete and in at least "very good" condition. This is not a way to unload your unwanted crap. That said, if the recipient is okay with cartridge/disc only, so be it!
check Unfortunately, because it is too difficult to manage, I will not be allowing international users. If we develop a better management system in the future, I’d love to include everybody!

Tips/Additional Rules:
check Look at your partner's wants and check his/her lists and posts. Put the same effort into selecting a gift for your partner that you would want someone else to put into yours.
check If your partner has inadequate "wants", don't give up! Try to figure it out. If you really get stuck, try a gift card or something like that!
check Make sure you provide adequate "wants" for your Santa. There should be at least 4-5 things on your list that fit in the target price/value range.
check When you get assigned a partner, start figuring out what you are going to get them! Immediately. Don't wait until the last minute!
check In most cases, the person that you are assigned to is NOT the same person that is assigned to you. In other words, you aren't just making a 1-to-1 exchange with someone. You're buying a gift for someone that, most likely, is buying a gift for someone else entirely.
check After you've received your gift, post in this thread thanking your Santa for what you received -- just so they know you appreciate whatever it was! (Or, if you've figured out who your Santa is somehow, you can just thank them privately if you'd rather.) Don't leave your Santa hanging without acknowledging their gift!
check Problematic users will NOT be allowed to participate. Please keep this a drama-free gift exchange raspberry
check Keep in touch throughout. Communication is key!

WARNING
Some people suck. Despite our best efforts, people might still get stiffed. If you don't intend to follow through on your commitment here, please do not sign up.

I finally went back and got the platinum for GOW Ragnarok. Only had the final 2 optional boss fights remaining. Took about 25 tries for each one but I was able to knock them out after watching a couple quick videos. Great games but glad to be complete and uninstalled.

Has there been any talk of another sequel or continuing the franchise at all? Not sure what Santa Monica Studios is working on. Haven't stayed up to date on a lot of gaming news lately.

Since I've started hosting the annual Secret Santa exchanges, Jonathan was always one of the first to sign up, including both of last Holiday's exchanges. I'd wager he'd have been down this year too. He always had the holiday spirit, even when we were faking during the summertime.

My last trade with him was for his Pokemon Puzzle League cartridge, last year. I'm going to have to dig it out sometime soon and play it in his honor! I actually think I still have all of the games and movies I've bought and traded from him.

In February, I had made a post asking to trade for Subtime. Jonathan was generous and DM'd me over some with the message "i checked the list of games and didnt much id want, but i still wanted to help ya out a bit, so heres a few weeks." I thanked him for his kindness and we discussed subtime trades a little bit. This was the last conversation I had with him. He passed away a week and a half later. frown

RIP Jonathan. You were a good dude. It sucks you were taken so soon. Hopefully, they have anime wherever you are. You will be missed!

@frank thanks for posting this as i was really taken aback by it myself. While i wasn't as close with jd as a lot of you guys were i did have the pleasure of drawing him in secret santa and had a blast getting his wants out to him. So yea to me there is a sort of semblance of being personable in this one here. I think the idea of it actually happening how it was described and transpired while going back and forth with frank on this one on his timeline vs mine just put everything to perspective.

I thought a post to everyone at the very least was common practice considering contributions towards community. Myself i'd like to take this further if anyone was interested if we can get in contact with his brother. These times are especially tough on all family members involved with the loss of a loved one. A moderator on the site can handle collected funds. and we ship out what the community would like to give back here. As busy as i am at times I'd still like to make an effort to reach out. and do my own attempt at locating this Justin Brother of his. To give some closure on this to everyone that knew of or dealt with jonathan directly/indirectly.

I don't know of I've had Santa Fe peppers. Just looked them up they're around 800 scoville units, so WAY less hot than jalapeños, which according to Google range from 2500-8000. (Banana peppers are 500 on the scale.)

Speaking of peppers, a large seed distributor mixed up Jalapeño and Santa Fe pepper seeds this year and distributed them to green houses that then sold them as the other. In gardening communities this is now called "peppergate" as thousands of gardeners all over were confused as to why their jalapeño peppers were yellow.
