It does say it uses magnets and "hall sticks", maybe the same thing as the retroid you're talking about? I know a year or two ago a 3rd party released a set of Joy-Cons that said it would never have Joy-Con drift, maybe they were using the same thing.

Yah Walmart is definitely better than GameStop for Wonder. Already prebought digital but this is a game that deserves to be physical.

It's even better if you get one of the 1000 Elephant Mario cards.

Just looked it up....apparently it was June 21st. A little bit longer than I thought, these last few months have really flown by!

nevermind about the switch 2 during the direct. They say it's for switch games in winter. So Dec. - March. Switch 2 is probably a Summer '24 release at the earliest. I guess there's a minor chance of a switch 2 trailer still.

And risk their holiday switch console sales? Not likely.

Would be nice is Switch 2.0 comes out spring to summer of 2024 but I think they may save it for fall 2024 to rake in holiday sales. Especially if it launches with a heavy hitter like Metroid Prime 4 or perhaps a brand new Mario 3D title. Just imagine the bundles. Switch 2.0 designed Metroid console! Ah. A boy can dream.

I was hoping they'd stick to March again for the next console launch, and for that to happen the time to announce it would be within the next couple of weeks. Switch was in March and we know not being near the holidays did nothing to stop it from selling out everywhere.

I'm glad they didn't let the poor launches of 3DS and PS Vita in March scare them off. Releasing in March wasn't the problem, they were just overpriced (and it didn't help that the 3DS launch lineup was one of the all-time worst).

ok guys make one realistic hope for the direct. Not guesses so much as something you'd like to see, that has a realistic shot to actually be announced. (No Earthbound remakes, Diddy Kong Racing 2, etc!!!)

Unicorn Overlord, MY GOD! It looks like Ogre Battle and Vanillaware had a baby. I am SO hyped for that one! It looks as close to an ogre battle 64 sequel as we'll ever get.

Not that great of a Direct overall (for me, at least). Most of the games/DLC they discussed were already announced, we just got new info and release dates. I can't believe the Expansion pass for Splatoon 3 isn't coming until Spring 2024 (which you know means it's going to be at the very end of Spring). The game came out a year ago already, and the first part of the DLC was basically nothing.

As for new stuff, I've never played any of the Mario/Donkey Kong games, but it looks kind of fun. That new Contra looks good, especially since it has 4 player co-op (can't wait to make my family play that one with me!) I would have much rather gotten a brand new F-Zero game, but F-Zero 99 does look really fun. I kinda wish it had been based on F-Zero X instead though. Hopefully this is to rekindle interest in the series, and then we'll get a brand new F-Zero game next year. Not much of a Paper Mario fan, so Thousand Year Door being the big reveal at the end did nothing for me. I actually tried to play that game for the first time a year or two ago, and was really enjoying it first, but about 10 hours in it just got too repetitive for me and I lost interest. Maybe I'll try it again on Switch, idk.

Just saw that Another Code Collection and the Peach game are $60. Gonna need physical versions if I'm buying those full price. (And yes, I was expecting $60 for the Peach game.)
