However, the Kotaku article says "So was it a good deal or not? A Tears of the Kingdom Switch plus the cash comes out to $1,060 total."
I want the store to confirm this, because I was under the impression he was given $700 in credit for all of that stuff and the Zelda OLED Switch came out of that, not that he was given a Zelda OLED in addition to $700. If the latter, then they didn't rip him off.

From the video it sounds like she says the switch and $700 cash. Plus there is a picture of the cash down at the bottom and the Zelda Switch. While I don't think it was a great deal, it is quicker than trying to find a buyer. Gotta play that Zelda now.
So I beat Breath of the Wild. I did learn that you can swap the buttons to go left to right, so B is A and A is B. But it only works with the Junks Cons and not the Hori Split Pad. So I'll just deal with reading text left to right and then having to remember the dumb fudging buttons go right to left.
For anyone interested, there's a bundle containing Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Dying Light: Definitive Edition currently on sale for $10.79 I already own Call of Juarez, and I've beaten Dying Light (and the expansion) twice on PS4, but am thinking of buying this bundle just to have Dying Light on Switch and maybe giving it another playthrough. I don't know if DL has gone on sale this cheap before by itself.
So I did go ahead and start my replay of BotW before TotK. I last save file is from 6 years ago and honestly I remember virtually nothing about the game except the obvious (4 dungeons, a bunch of shrines, fighting ganon etc) but what's wild is that even though the first time I played the game I liked it but didn't think it was awesome or amazing, this run through I am enjoying it more. I don't know why but so far I am really digging it and I figure TotK will be around for a long time before a new Zelda game so no need to rush to play it.
Anyways, yeah I guess I am going to go thru this game again and then start TotK at some point. It looks pretty awesome on the Switch OLED
"Everybody 1-2-Switch" is releasing on June 30th. I like how there was no hype or build up for this at all, they just put it in a Tweet and it'll be out in 4 weeks. So, uh...who's excited for this? https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1664438...
That's so weird. I never expected a sequel to 1-2 Switch. I won't lie, we've gotten a fair amount of enjoyment out of our copy of 1-2 Switch over the years. We've played it many times on family game nights, and also with guests. It can be a fun little party game with the right crowd. So I'm actually kind of looking forward to this. Not for $30 though. I already paid full price for the original, I'll wait until I can snag this for like $15.
Does that mean there won't be a Nintendo Direct in the second week of June like there always was before E3 died? Because otherwise why wouldn't they have just held off a little longer on that game's announcement?
Someone had said last year that Nintendo had a sequel to 1-2-Switch but were just sitting on it not sure what to do with it because it "tested horribly" among the play test groups. That guy knew what he was talking about, because here we are a year later and he even had the name correct. Maybe that has to do with why they cut the MSRP in half for this one. This article from June 7 of last year:
Unfortunately for Nintendo, it's claimed Everybody's 1-2-Switch simply didn't resonate with its target audience — namely, families with children — and "tested horribly". Play testers are said to have found its mini-games, which included musical chairs and a twist on bingo that required 'digging' out numbers using Joy-Cons, "boring" and "tedious".
The response was reportedly so bad, some employees within Nintendo began suggesting the game could damage the company's reputation for quality software if released. But despite those reservations, executives are reportedly refusing to be swayed on the idea of launching it as anything other than a full-price game (some employees have suggested releasing it as part of Switch Online's premium subscription), believing that - like its predecessor, which was also met with a poor critical reception - it will still sell well regardless of complaints.
Khan says his sources were unclear what the future might hold for Everybody's 1-2-Switch; while it's possible Nintendo may simply decide to cut its losses and abandon the project, sources say this is unlikely, and that Nintendo will "try to get the game out there one way or another."
Does anybody know if there is a case or a holder for your joy cons?
My daughter and I been trying to get them. But didn’t know if there is something to hold All of them. Or something that would look nice to have them in
Are these for joycons that you use regularly or are you trying to showcase them? If it's the former, I'd recommend a charging dock so they're good to go each time you want to play.
Mystery Tower looks neat and I'm very excited to give the classic Harvest Moon a ago. Both look like fun pick up and play games.
Blaster Master looks cool but I feel like I should play through the newest Blaster Master game that I bought way back when Switch was still new as that's probably the best experience.
And I don't know about anybody else, but I'm over the constant addition of Kirby games. There's like 400 on NSO already. At least this one apparently has the tilt gimmick, but I don't need any more Kirby games haha
Never would have expected them to add Blaster Master: Enemy Below! That game has been on my to play list for way too long. I started it once but only made it to the 2nd world. Maybe having access to it on the Switch will help me to finally play through all of it.
How beautiful are those SNES graphics? I remember wishing for more realism back in the day, but most 2D sprite games released today struggle to hold up to the high standard of some of the better SNES games.
Watching the Guerilla Collective Showcase...just had a trailer for Quest Master. Looks like somebody got tired of waiting for a Zelda Dungeon Creator from Nintendo
I finally just beat Shredder’s Revenge last week. Not that it was hard at all (maybe too easy tbh), but it was a nice “pick up later and continue” game for me and I loved the overall experience.
I’m also a bit disappointed in the lack of any new levels, but I am curious as to what that new game mode is. I can’t seem to find any details on it. Is it just single player but with all the characters backing you up or what? If whatever it ends up being is fun enough, it may make up for the lack of new levels somewhat.
> At this rate it's basically trending into Beyond Good & Evil 2 territory.
When was development restarted on MP4? 3-4 years ago? Then Covid. I'd give it another year presuming we hear about the Switch successor before calling it that.
> At this point if MP4 is announced as a launch title bundled with Switch 2.0 I’ll
> run with it.
I'm guessing Switch 2 will launch with a new Mario or Mario Kart, or will release very soon after. If I had to bet Mario Odyssey 2 with a Bowser Fury flair.
I'm usually aware of when we're due for another Direct, but this one completely surprised me! Can't wait! I'll post my obligatory ongoing want list:
1) Mario Kart 9 - MK8 came out in 2014! I know they ported it to the Switch, but still, it's time for some new Mario Kart! I'd love to see them go full Smash Kart in the next one, bringing in way more characters from non-Mario games. Not so much for the characters though, I really don't care who I play as, I just like that it would open up tons of new level possibilities. Unfortunately, we won't be getting a new Mario Kart any time soon since they're only halfway through the Booster Course Pass, but it's still my top want. I want a brand new Mario Kart, danggit!
2) 2D Zelda - Not a port or a remake, just a brand new 2D Zelda game without any (stupid) gimmicks.
3) Donkey Kong Country 4 - More like the original trilogy, not Returns/Tropical Freeze. I know this is incredibly unlikely, but it's staying on my list anyway.
4) 2D Mario - something new that breaks free from the tired NSMB formula. A 2D Odyssey with Cappy could be great!
5) 3D Mario - I'd be happy with 3D World 2, Galaxy 3, Odyssey 2, something similar to SM64, or something brand new! I do think the next one will be a sequel though.
6) Yoshi's Woolly World port - Besides TP:HD and WW:HD (which I do think will find their way to the Switch eventually) this is the only Wii U game I care about that hasn't either been ported or gotten a superior sequel. It's one of my favorite games, and I would really love to have access to it on the Switch.
7) Pokemon, Let's Go (Gen 2) - I loved the unique mechanics of the first one, and really hope to see more gens clremade in a similar way.
8) F-Zero - I had dropped this one from my list for a while after playing Fast Racing Neo and being very disappointed. But, it's back on the list now because I'm sure Nintendo would do a much better job.
9) Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons remake - After playing the Link's Awakening remake, I wanted them to remake these two games in the same style. Now, I'm not so sure that style makes as much sense for the Oracle games. They're a bit darker/grittier than LA, and don't have the whole dream aspect. Either way, I'd love to see them remade!
10) 3D Zelda ports/collection - Ideally, we'd get a collection of all the pre-SS 3D Zelda games, so the 3DS versions of OoT and MM, TP:HD, and WW:HD. But, it's Nintendo, so I know that's asking a LOT. It's hard to see them not releasing TP:HD and WW:HD as stand-alones, we all know they'd sell like crazy. So, I don't really know what to expect, I just know I'd like to see these games become available on Switch.
11) Metroid Prime 2 and 3 remasters - I had hoped they would just remaster the whole trilogy all at once, but obviously that didn't happen. Now, I'm hoping they'll remaster the 2nd and 3rd games as well, and then I'll play through all of them.
12) 2D Metroid - I'd be fine with a brand new one, or a remake. I thoroughly enjoyed Samus Returns and Dread, so I want 2D Metroid games to keep coming!
13) DS/3DS Player - something like the GBA Player, but for DS and 3DS games. Not exactly sure how this would work, maybe some add-on to the dock that could communicate with the Switch wirelessly, so the Switch itself would be the controller and bottom screen, and the add-on would display the top screen on the tv. It's not perfect, but I think it could work, and it would be great to be able to play ALL handheld Nintendo games on a TV.
Out of those, I think my top wants that are actually realistic things that could be announced tomorrow are either a 2D or 3D Mario, Metroid Prime 2 remaster, and maybe a new 2D Metroid. We're still getting more waves of courses for Mario Kart 8, so 9 isn't coming any time soon. That will probably be on the Switch's successor. Tears of the Kingdom just dropped, so I definitely don't see a new 2D Zelda coming out anytime soon, and probably not the Ages/Seasons remakes either (although I do believe those are coming eventually). I'm still hoping for another Pokemon Let's Go, but that would be announced in a Pokemon Direct, not this one.
REALLY hoping for a new Mario game, it's been too long! I'd be thrilled with 2D or 3D!
I know it's wishful thinking, but I'd swim in my own stool for an HD-2D Mario game. I don't see them ever doing a traditional 2D Mario game again, and I really don't need another "New" SMB game with its floaty controls, but an HD-2D Mario game with a similar graphics style to Octopath Traveler would be a new gimmick for the series that they haven't tried. I think it'd be worth a go for sure. Just imagine running through a SMB3 or SMW-style level but with the foreground and background playing into the atmosphere even more than they already did, hiding secrets and whatnot? A man can dream.
Really love that they wait to announce these until near release. People hype up everything, then complain when it doesn't meet unreal expectation. I can see the YouTuber hype train going full speed right now to get crap posted...
It'll be Pikmin 4, a well rumored game or two, third party stuff, NES Online/DLC update and a surprise or two.
No hyping up here personally, it’s just fun to share what I want to see. As long as you’re not the type to get pissy over video games, and I’m not, everything should be peachy haha
> I’ve heard rumors of a snes game getting remade and it possibly being Chrono trigger.
> I would lose my mind
Sea of Stars is coming out this year, which was inspired heavily by Chrono Trigger. Maybe CT is being remade too, idk, just thought I'd mention that lol
just saw that. Nice! I thought it was supposedly gonna be July, but honestly nobody knows what or when Nintendo is doing stuff these days. We got some good stuff from other companies this month. Can't wait to see some stuff from Nintendo to cap it off!
> In just about 12 short hours, all your wildest dreams will come true.
Metroid prime 2 remastered, Metroid prime 4 release date, Switch 2.0, Mario Odyssey 2 launch title, Mario Kart 9, Earthbound remake, Earthbound 2 (Mother 4), Diddy Kong Racing 2. Baten Kaitos 1&2 physical announced, Eternal Darkness 2!!!
