The game wasn't delayed, the day one patch was. Which is really odd. I guess this is a late patch they threw together based on review and early access copies for youtubers. So it hit the certification like yesterday. Not sure why xbox and playstaton have such different certification processes. xbox always takes so damn long.

12-Oct-2023(#47)Good thing I have zero interest in open world Spooder Man and whatever Nintendo is selling!

12-Oct-2023(#49)Sony and the generic open world game that sells like hot cakes.... And Nintendo isp probably selling some platformer?

13-Oct-2023(#51)So Lords of the Fallen is actually pretty damn okay so far. Its like they just decided to make a Dark Souls 3 clone and asked to use the Lords of Fallen IP to do so. Menus are straight up DS3. Actually, most of how the game setup is pretty much DS3. However it does have some major issues. Not sure if just the xbox version or what. But I'm putting off playing anymore until that patch comes out. Because it has some major performance issues. Frame rate drops, pop ins, hitching/stuttering, potato graphics in spots and some goofy animations. Like in some of the cut-scenes (game rendered and pre-rendered) the character does not appear to be connected to the world. Like he is moving independently of the rest of the world/scene. Its, extremely odd. But Unreal Engine is also a steamy pile of crap these days.
I only played for about an hour. But so far, this seems like it has potential to be one of the best souls clones. I do also however think this lamp mechanic and going back and forth between realms is going to be over used and outstay its welcome. Its already some what annoying how much its used in the first bit of the game. Again, only an hour, but I feel the game would be better without it. Oh, I almost forgot, I had two cut-scenes randomly end on me before they were actually over. So, fudge the story at this point, I have no idea whats going on in that regard. And honestly don't care. Just want the game play. Its a souls clone.

13-Oct-2023(#54)I had to change the pickup location for my Ps5 copy but overall I'm reading PS5 is far better than Xbox. Best Buy where I pre ordered it didn't even get a copy. I also set the steel book to ship.

13-Oct-2023(#55)If it sucks performance wise I'll just wait to play. I technically only paid $20+ tax with a $50 Gift card I got from work via this Bravo recognition system.

How are you liking it so far. I'm really digging it personally. More than any other souls clone. Just this horrible performance on xbox is making really unplayable at times.
Does the PS5 version have the weird floaty character where when you do an attack combo you float forward and into or past an enemy?

Not seeing any of the floaty stuff. It feels pretty visceral - maybe the haptics? It’s ok so far. Way too many enemies in some of the early areas- and they give very low rewards. Leveling feels much more important here. I’d say this definitely feels more DS3 than most. Lies of P felt much more BB after it got rolling. It’s substantially better than that 2014 trash.

Did BB get an exclusive steelbook??

There's a steelbook, yeah. No idea if it's exclusive.

Yeah, I was dual wielding maces. I got two of them to drop before the first boss. Dual wielding is fantastic.

It’s not nearly as bad as OG. The further I get the more it feels like they made a huge mistake in the sequence of the game. It feels like blightown and the crapty swamp areas of DS very early and very often. They went for frustratingly cheap inflated difficulty - but if you’re into that it’s fine and I can see why some masochistic souls fans would love it.
