2-Mar-2022(#1)Post your random thoughts, questions, ideas here... I'll start
1) Have you ever watched America's Funniest Videos and wonder why the winning video is almost NEVER funny AT ALL?? We were watching some older episodes on Disney Plus and the final 3 videos are always stupid and not funny, and the worst one ALWAYS wins.. WTF..
2) How have cereal bags NOT been made with zip lock technology??
3) They need to make a container that can keep to-go french fries from getting soggy...

25-Jan(#244)I like spicy food.
I don't like the tinted vinegar crap some places try to pass off as food. Frank's Red Hot and similar sauces are disgusting.

26-Jan(#246)If you like a kick but also like flavor and not just all hot, I highly recommend Tiger Sauce. If I had room in the fridge, I'd buy a gallon. It's both sweet and spicy. Not too spicy, but it has a kick. Very flavorful. That's a sauce that I think was done right.

So maybe when Charlie Sheen was saying he was on Tiger Blood, this was what he really was on? LOL

Ha. Who knows. Maybe. It's a pretty great sauce.

* 2-Feb(#252)We use DoorDash over here to get groceries delivered. Maybe a little bit more money due to delivery charges and whatnot but time saved/gas saved makes it worth it. Plus not having to interact with people = simply wonderful.

2-Feb(#254)As much as I don't like going to the grocery store, I can't have other people pick out my fruits, vegetables, and salads. Then there's the fact that I'm constantly changing what I purchase due to availability or possibly a better deal or a clearance item. I usually get a few clearance items when I go to Kroger. As far as dealing with people is concerned, it really isn't an issue for me because I go in the morning and check out a little after 7 a.m., so not a busy time to go. Also, deep down, I just know they're going to screw my order up somehow.

I agree with the not wanting someone else to pick out my produce. We've gotten food deliveries with produce that was damaged, that I would never have picked at the store on my own. The way I view it is that it's a way for the workers in the store to get rid of non prime produce without having to throw it out, by putting it into the delivery of a customer. Just my opinion. Perhaps I'm wrong.
Non produce though, I'm definitely a fan of getting things delivered sometimes.

2-Feb(#257)I do my own grocery shopping because I like to make sure I'm not getting things that are due to expire soon.

3-Feb(#258)I finally got the white chunks hung up in my tonsil area to dislodge after weeks. It normally goes quicker. What a glorious day!

3-Feb(#259)In related news you just dislodged the chunks in my stomach into my sink thanks a lot.

* 3-Feb(#261)Bucket, a recipe is just a starting point. You make it once, then the next time you figure out what to add or remove.
That's basically how I ended up making my own style of ramen bowls with cooked pulled pork, dark and slightly aged soy sauce (a brand I use for cooking gets much tastier a month after I open it), some veggies, and the latest experiment was a bit of chili crisp. That really made it taste much better.

7-Feb(#264)There are so many cars near where I live. Endless flow of traffic. Terrible for trying to listen to messages on your phone as you walk. The trucks, cars, and busses just don't stop.

9-Feb(#267)Had my first true experiences with psychedelics in 2023. That video is pretty accurate… it can get pretty friggin wild.

Would you rather have a ton of traffic during peak hours yet have cell reception?

10-Feb(#271)I never had Rock em Sock em Robots as a kid. My cousin had it, but I only interacted with it a little. Got it for my kid. It's much smaller/cheaper than I remember, probably a combination of me being bigger/35 years later and it actually being cheaper/smaller. Love this game. My strategy is legit, and I feel like I have an advantage... but my youngest wins maybe a little less than half the time. This game is great.

10-Feb(#273)Oh hell no. I relish the day my kids beat me in chess.. I had 1 scare, but none of them have reached 10 yet. They've known how to set up the board since 4 or 5, know the moves. On the flip side, I've lost to my 5 year old in checkers... lol

10-Feb(#274)Once my daughter got old enough to truly understand the games we were playing, I never let her win. Sometimes I would discuss the strategies we were using so that she could learn how to get better.
We didn't play Monopoly very often, but she played several times with a high school friend. Both of them used the strategy of never selling property to anyone who could complete a set and start building houses on them. This usually made the game pretty long. When she got married, she called me and complained because her husband's friends would sell/trade and let others get all three properties in a set.

We gotta play some chess one of these days, love the game. You'd kill me.

11-Feb(#277)I've regaled GameTZ with this story before, but it has been a while. My favorite "who was that masked man" kind of story involved chess. One night when I was a senior in college, I was walking past a room near the cafeteria when I see a couple of tables lined with guys playing chess. I enter and after a game ends, I ask one of the players what this is about. He tells me it is the Southern Indiana Chess Club tournament. He points to one of the games and tells me it is for the Championship. I quietly explain how I played chess on my high school chess team, but hadn't played more than a couple of games in college. A few more games end, and it turns out a few of these guys went to the same high school and had the same Chess Club sponsor. The Championship game ends and the winner leaves. The runner-up asks me to play. A few moves into the game, almost everyone in the room is watching us. I beat the guy fairly easily and get lots of offers of "play me next". I walk out while I'm ahead.

11-Feb(#278)I'm actually not that great at chess. I enjoy endgame, but I'm a lost child when it comes to the beginning.
