Osmosis Jones was $2 - I never find snappers like this in good shape so I had to pick it up. The other DVDs were $1.50 total (from a lot of things I bought for reselling.) The Stephen King and Bullet Train sets are sealed. Left Behind was irresistible at 50 cents. For the record, I expect that movie to be extremely awful. Kevin Sorbo's acting sucks, his personality is worse, and I can't imagine his directing is any better.

Do you collect those old-style DVDs? I have a few that I've kept around purely because I like those snapback cases, but I need to downsize. laughing out loud

Haha, not exactly. I only pick up the early ones that have games, DVD-Rom content, or that were never reprinted. There's a couple of snappers with unique content too, like that rare version of The Devil's Advocate.

If you want, send me a list, maybe you have something I need.

I always thought they were some weird pro-Christian propaganda fiction.

They're... weird.

The original books were interesting - the concept of people who were not good enough for the Rapture being, ahem, left behind to deal with the fallout was an interesting idea. But man oh man did the story go off the rails fast. I don't consider them propaganda... they're more like someone's LSD induced fanfiction with very loose ties to the bible.

And doesn't everyone here know by now that I collect bad movies? :)

By the way, I also own the PC games. :D

Not sure about this one. Found some commodore games, mostly discs only, some with manuals. Mentioned I'm interested in Ultima V and bard's tale. He also had some dungeon and dragon games. Than he replies he's happy to just ship them to me. I say, that's real nice, get to talking. He says there's 10 - 12 games, and some summer game disc compilation with over 100 games.

I say sure, let me know your etransfer email and I'll be glad to send the shipping and an extra $5 or so for a small treat. Gave the address, said he's in Moncton now, but coming to Ontario next week. I said if you're in Toronto and want a hair cut I got first choice haircutter giftcards lol.

He didn't reply, gave the address. Pretty sure he'll mail it out, but I feel bad for not giving him at least the shipping for it. We'll see

sorry for posting here, and sorry for everyone who looked expecting me to share another deal or what did this guy get again haha

but I had an idea for a pinball machine. One with a digital back. I guess the knobs would have to be in place. But I guess you could add the points and change the background in the digital outlay to keep it interesting. I guess this wouldn't be infinite in one pinball, unless the bolts somehow changes and moved in and out but no one is taking this to space...no idea lol

sorry again haha have a good day

Good deal on both. If WA2 is really nice and you are buying to sell I'd be interested. I have it but could use a condition upgrade.

My music store owner friend said "Hey I got some stuff for you" and he dropped these off for me:

The Perro Callejero movies are pretty decently reviewed Mexican melodramas from the early 1980s. The movies are easy to find in multipacks, but single releases - especially by that publisher - are very uncommon.

The other movie is a really horrible looking religious CG feature. It's bad. So bad. XD

Purchase. Both seemed priced at greatest hits label. Not really one to sell for profit, and I don't have any interest in either. Seemed like a good deal. Passing for now. It's Half Priced Books.

Also went to the city to find roller blades for me to help teach the kids how to skate. I was pretty decent back in my youth. Cheapest option in stores was $150 for adult size. Most department stores don't carry them. Found a pair at goodwill in really good shape complete with tools (Allen's for changing wheels/bearings) and instructions in a factory baggy. $10. Score! Forgive the potato quality.

I picked up a beat up Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player at one of my usual sources at the Wednesday flea market that sets up near my house. I bought it thinking that I might be able to extract the drive to use it elsewhere, and... the damn thing works perfectly fine. It actually looks and functions a bit -better- than my other HD DVD player.

I paid about 5 bucks for this. I'd call that a win.

Loving these bad movie pick ups - I'm going to have to check out Gran Milagro for the cult movie night I host. We're showing this animated trash fire for our December show:

Really? I've been using that for years, usually referring to really crappy photos taken by cheap / low quality / MP cell phone cameras. I guess it's just one of those phrases that isn't universal. :)

I wish the garage sales were going better this summer. I've been to two successful ones, both of which I posted (some quality Wii games for $15, an NES with about 13ish games for $30). Most of the sales I've seen posted are 45+ minutes from my house/job, they start and end during my work shift, the seller doesn't communicate what games/prices they've got, etc. I need some good scores already! I nabbed an Atari Lynx with four games for $60 last year, for Pete's sake!

I picked up a couple things on Thursday. I got myself a pink (god awful color) Nintendo DS and just an NES console. My NES like most others blinks all the time so picking this system up untested for just $2 was like buying a scratch ticket. No brainer on that one. Haven't tested it yet, and it probably just needs to be opened up and cleaned. And this DS system seems to work well but I have to test it fully on a more advance game to see if the left and right back buttons. She had $15 on and I offered $10 and she said yes. Probably could have offered less. Also came with one of the Nintendo Dogs games. I still have my original Red DS but the back right button doesn't work and you really need that for GBA rpgs and action/adventure games.

Didn't find much but I found some things that I could use. I really didn't see much and there were a lot less people looking. I'm happy with what I found and if I can I get the NES console to work it was worth it.

I bought a (mostly) sealed copy of Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake PlayStation Portable on eBay for just under $15. I had to negotiate the price down and the seller was Canadian, so I had to use a price calculator liberally. But I was amused by the game’s premise and excited to learn that it was ported from PS3 (a system I don’t own) to PSP with slight enhancements.

VGPC claims a CIB copy is worth $10, and the seal on this is broken, so this might not be a terrific bargain. But I’m looking forward to playing capture the flag with an obese lady anyway.

A few weeks ago, I posted about finding the game.com version of Sonic Jam at a local flea market. The same seller flagged me down today, they had found the console. I bought it for 10 dollars. It rattles and has some cosmetic issues, but it fired right up once I put in new batteries.

For those curious, Sonic Jam claims to contain ports of Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. I tried to play Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 but they were indistinguishable from one another and were basically unplayable. The other game, "Light's out" was also basically unplayable.

Sadly this was missing the stylus so if anyone has an extra game.com stylus, i'm looking.

I’ll definitely play it; I specifically bought this copy because the broken seal basically renders the “new” label moot. Might as well tear it open at that rate. I found a lot of sealed Fat Princess games on eBay and GameTZ, which makes me think people expected it to be a rarer in the future than it ended up being. That might explain it.

There was a big neighborhood festival in my area this weekend, which is always good for finding plenty of yard sales within walking distance. There weren't quite as many sales this year but I still found some fun stuff, nonetheless.

Mostly lean at garage sales today but did get a decent Wii lot for $20. One of the wiimotes didn't work but the system is fine and a decent stack of games. Also had some Wii branded media tower. Designed to hold 18 games, holders for wii motes and nun chuks on the top. Neat thing, had not seen it before. Best games value wise are Wii Sports Resort, Wii Sports, DK Jungle Beat and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Here is an ebay listing of the storage tower if anyone is curious what it looks like: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184263674977?hash=item2ae...

Nice. Even has the official Nintendo logo on it. I didn't know there was an officially branded Wii tower. Even has a hook for a guitar. Useful all in one.

As some of you may know, I am friends with a lady who works at a thrift store and she sets aside all the donated video games for me. Well, unbeknownst to me, she is close friends with the lady that puts out the books/media at another thrift store I frequent and apparently I came up in conversation. I went in today to shop and had these waiting for me. She said she would continue to hold any games that come in for me. $50 for all.

Unfortunately it is a smaller thrift store that focuses more on clothes/knick knacks, so I would be surprised if anything else came in the rest of the year.

Today's haul:
[imgt w=2048 h=1536]https://i.imgur.com/dxjTXM0.jpg[/imgt]
Total price: $66. The woman who sold me the $5 Wii and $8 PS2 was very lively and easy to work with, and she frequently gets cheap storage units. She wrote down my name and email so she can share any new gaming finds she gets. Connections like those are rare and awesome!

Not pictured are the two plush toys I got for my nieces and a Wii Balance Board. I have no clue what the Wii Super Sensor on the right is, but she tossed it in for free. Fable III is actually Revenge of the Sith for Xbox. On a side note, the title, "The Last of Us," could also apply to Yoda and Obi-wan at the end of ROTS.

Then I found GameStop selling Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Saurian for $15, $35 less than its asking price on the second-hand market. The rest of their DS game prices are up-to-date, why not that one?

So the $10 rollerblades I got are really nice. They are probably $200+ new, and fit much better than the $150-200 ones I tried on at a local sporting goods store. Meant for roller hockey. Can't wait to try them out on smooth concrete.

Okay, so thanks to trades with both @Frank and @Lunar, I've managed to get a good chunk of DVD games I needed in the past week:

image

That particular Jimmy Neutron disc was a -massive pain- to find with the artwork. I'd only seen it sold with the DVD one time, and I wasn't able to nab it. I already had the movie but the artwork was basically proof that it was included with the movie. So, I got it, and the disc was extremely trashed but only had like 30 MB of data so I guess I'm keeping it, heh.

And of course a sealed DVD with the demo -and a DVD sampler- went up today. Of course. My damn luck. :P

I still need AnimePlay issue 4, if you know where to find it, hook me up!

The rest of the week was weird. So here's the stuff I found.

image
Evil Dead 4K was found at the Amazon returns store I usually visit on Tuesdays. It was sealed, but the package was completely crushed, so the artwork has damage and the case had to be tossed. The disc was fine so now I just need a replacement 4K BD case and art. :D

Stay Alive (rated) was $1 at the Wednesday neighborhood flea market I go to.

Mr Limpet is a condition upgrade disc, Cries and Whispers is going to ebay with some other DVDs, Blood Red Moon looked stupid, and I Spy Treasure Hunt, well, it was a DVD game. Those were $5. Collateral Damage and Eraser was $1.

I also found that seller who had tons of cheap DVDs a couple of weeks ago, and I nabbed some more movies for reselling on eBay. He also sold me Clerks II, Everything Everywhere on Bluray, and those three Steam game sets for $4 total.

I'm going back tomorrow to talk to a guy who had several boxes full of discs. I would've stayed and check them out but I was already carrying too many movies.

Now I know what you all are thinking - is it still worth going to thrift stores to find video games? Well, for me today it was:

Had a 30% off coupon so paid about $45 for everything. Unfortunately Pokemon XD is case/manual only, and Pokemon Colosseum has no manual. I found Godzilla inside a Wii Play case - always check!

That Pokemon stuff really went nuts, great find.

All the thrifts here, at least in town, list all but the most bulk of games online. The rural ones though, I'm still able to find nice stuff now and then.
