What's more fun than winning an eBay auction with no competition? Beating two other buyers by sniping with a bid 25¢ higher!
[imgt w=1600 h=1600]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/aasAAOSwXehjvvTr/s-...[/imgt]
[imgt w=1600 h=1600]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/7KgAAOSwvD9jvvTs/s-...[/imgt]
The price before shipping is $1.34, which means the two other bidders were too apathetic or nervous to bid a whole $2 on this game. Came out to $7.73 with shipping and tax, which is a good deal for it nowadays. I'm starting to find that GB/GBC games aren't the most cost-effective gaming purchases, since you end up paying $10-15 for about two total hours of entertainment, and shipping is about half the price. But the Game Boy is my favorite system and I'm about to start earning considerably more at work, so for now, I indulge. As a wise GameStop cashier told me years ago, "Someday you'll spend much more on much worse." I pay taxes now, so maybe he was onto something! laughing out loud

eBay find. A friend found a weird listing for an item with the game's description, but the title was completely wrong, so I tossed a couple of bucks at it.

Got this casio ct-605 keyboard and a high end mitsubishi vcr for $40 at a random garage sale. The keyboard is sweet I'm keeping it, it came in an sbk case that's worth more than the keyboard

Good memories, I had all those medieval Lego sets at one point. I sold all my Legos during college on Craigslist, I don't really regret it - though maybe I would have kept them if I had the storage space. I still sometimes dream in Legos, though.

Struck out at most garage sales today except one where a woman was selling her ex’s games for 0.25 cents each, so I got The Last of Us Part 1 (PS5). I gave her 0.50 cents and she was like “um sir you forgot your quarter” lol

Turns out the Star Wars Episode 1 Racer cart I bought has serious battery corrosion on the board. The game doesn't boot. I attempted to clean it, but layers of the board start tearing away when I try to remove the corrosion. Hate to say it, but that cart may be totally lost in its current shape.

I made a pretty low offer on a cart with a bad label ($5+shipping when he was asking for 10+shipping) and the seller apparently bit. It's confirmed to work and has no visible corrosion. This whole debacle has cost me almost $20, so this top-down podracing experience had better be worth it!

The only thing worth salvaging from my corroded cart is the good label. I'll use some dot glue to adhere it and have a good replacement.

Well, I found a lot that was posted yesterday, so prob showed up Monday midday or evening. I didn't see it until Tuesday night. Saw: Drowned God in box, saw some king's quest in box, way more, inherent evil in box, some others. I was like I WANT THIS.

Said I want it, she replies today, sold it. Grrrr, it had 70 games for $80. Ayyy, that's not going to get me sharper. But that lot, geez, it was for real REALLY AWESOME. Onto finding other things, if it was my first deal I found, than again prob not, or I cared about money, I'd cry lol

Well Monday morning, or Sunday evening. It was Tuesday before midnight, and said posted yesterday. Drowned God in box would have been worth it alone prob. I remember selling a jewel case for $70. Some good deals, are too good for some of us. Onto others lol

Do you have a collection pic? Curious to see as I'm not sure we have many PC collectors on this site.

Hi, all's not lost I guess, I found a driver san francisco new in dvd case (you need new to actually play - can't replay on same key). Have one at $150 on ebay with tracked shipping, and now have another. Paid $31 for it mailed.

I find all my deals on either kijiji or facebook marketplace. Toronto is pretty condensed so I try to input other provinces sometimes if I get on that, gotta spend some time at the computer and be productive bs, you know, gotta work or do something so consumption doesn't spoil and sour you lol when it can't be refilled.

I think reddit is probably another one to find deals, but I don't use it much. Kijiji is a Canada thing, but I did occasionally look up us states on fb marketplace. Saw a few deals typing some keywords. PC games is all I know, so if there's a lot, I can scan and be like, this, that, and figure out quickly if I want it. Guess more people are on the hunt, why wouldn't they be, so I guess sometimes I gotta find shipped deals too. But I don't like to pay much before shipping, tried to get a few to make a trade here with me and I promised to even send them a bonus when they got it lol. I don't know, $100 isn't much these days, but I'd feel stupid if I just threw it away. Guess I need more optimism or more shinebright from the good life. Middle of winter, you can't unpout a smile when your hands and face are chapping from sitting out some nights and have a session lol

I have a small collection. Decided to keep a few Matrix Path of Neos, some small box new adventure anthologys, the only game from my youth I decided to keep is Legend of Kyrandia for mac. It was a hard game, lots of mixing things, etc, but it was fun with a hintbook lol.

I don't really "collect" per say, but keep some games. It's not too many, and most of the games I buy I buy to flip. I don't care about making the top dollar for most, but want a fair price and see prices from all over. Sometimes those tactics get me quick sales, so money is coming in, some things, have watchers on, but no bites. Guess if you always undersold you'd make more, but the fact is, if someone wants a game, they'll usually pay for it either after all the cheap ones sell out, or because it's more expensive to ship cross border, and it's a fair deal for most Canucks. WIth US, it's expensive, media mail even in a bubble mailer. Better to get a few things if from the States and I always make cheap sales locally without the fees and sometimes undercut myself just to be sure the person feels they got a deal. But with some games almost doubling up in value : drowned god in jewel example, and a new new for speed underground 2 for pc, it's hard to really feel sorry sometimes when prices are all over the page lol.

But I used to love to collect. Until I started smoking weed, than it wasn't so much for the nostalgia, but for the moment in passing. I wanted to see sights out of this world, so I played adventure games. I wanted to get some tension out, played action games. Wanted to just get wreckless, gta or need for speed lol. But now, I'm trying to have more fun, and get to living life, the good life, the one where you don't go, It's Aight, but you go, HELL YEAH lol

I'm mad now. I bought a cheap copy of Star Wars Episode I Racer Game Boy Color with a good label, but it was too corroded to play or repair. So I bought another cheap copy that was confirmed to work, but it had a torn-up label. So removing the good label and transferring it to the good cart was my next DIY project. My attempt to remove the adhesive with heat was met with immediate opposition by my folks who instead urged me to use sticker removing fluid, which can damage the label. Both failed, so now I'm left with a bad cart with a torn good label and a good cart with none. I could've bought a good cart with a good label for a few dollars more and saved myself the frustration, but the other two purchases have added up to much to justify it.

I could print a new label if I had a color printer, but that wouldn't be official enough to satisfy me. What a letdown.

Agreed. But my own method wasn't getting results, so I went for it anyway. Maybe I'll find a third cheap copy at a flea market or something, so I won't have to pay shipping. Who knows.

Why didn't u try taking the board out of the good cart and putring it in the case of the bad one
SupremeSarna

The bad case had a lot of battery corrosion. I figured the best way to avoid damaging the good board in the longrun was to avoid using the corroded cart altogether, just taking the untainted label.

Oh well, the label is just a boring logo on a black background anyway.

Sometimes when a big lot evades me, I find a single game deal. Found one today, been on since 5pm yesterday...1 view...I offered $120...than said take what I have $133 let me know and I can prob borrow if needed...than caved and said $146. Normally I don't pay that much.

What did I get: Fallout in box pc game think it's complete, has the vault book and jewel and a paper or few. It was $40. Now this was a stellar deal. Why did I pay so much? He priced the strategy guide at $120. I got it for $106. Had money this time, so didn't cheapen out. Saw the original manual sell for a lot of money too. I think I realize the problem, he said he used pricecharting. I'm an ebay guy. All good, will no doubt make 3 bills on both items if not more. Will have to see how I price them, but took it on the subway, but stopped to buy weed and cigs too. Had to use 2 fares, but would have used 1 to get weed, and this was all on the way. Also 1 to make it there and back. All good I think, sometimes these deals are just great. All looks pretty minty too. Good buy.

well, turns out, the person I bought fallout 1 from and the strategy guide - both were mint. He put up Fallout 2 for sale, for $50. I said I can come by. But he wasn't home, and when he was, I missed the first half of the superbowl lol. He said no holds, so I was like, grrr. Turns out the game on one side is a little crumpled, not as nice as I thought. Still will make money, no doubt, but not as good as the first time lol.

Than he goes I have more games, I took morrowind in jewel, and tribunal in small box (but box has a tear at top and a rip under the fold out at front - didn't notice, wanted $20, wanted $20 for pirates! - this I was like maybe I should buy and put in my collection, it is nice, and temple of elemental evil, wanted $20 for each of the games except the elder scrolls ones. I said $45, after he lowered price on pirates, and another deal was born. Except I thought elemental evil is worth something more, some for my collection, but meh, all good. Guess I just pitched some money for the good deals I got, and got something to collect, 3 games for $25 since elemental evil I'll prob sell for $20. All good, deserved a tip. Even though he only replied when he wanted to

Wanted the eagles to soar high over the old capital, more so than the chiefs of kansas' oz lol. No idea

So was browsing and not finding anything, until I thought up a new search term, same search parameters, different results. Sometimes you gotta play around.

Found a Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare new and sealed in small box for $25 priced from $45. It was the same guy who sold me carbon collector's by need for speed and ea new with slipcover for the same price. I said $30 with delivery. Just got it delivered.

Saw it sell for $135, than $240, I'm thinking $200 on ebay is a fair price. We'll see. Keep the hunting going lol, there's gotta be more deals lol

I just nabbed Freakyforms Deluxe and Frozen: Olaf’s Quest (both 3DS) for just under $22. Freakyforms is the real win there, since it’s about $30 loose on average, and that’s still too much IMO. The original Freakyforms was eShop-exclusive but was then pulled after Deluxe released physically. Several years later, homebrewers apparently cracked Deluxe, so Nintendo removed that version from the eShop, too. Now physical is the only way to get it, and the prices are usually unpleasant. I made a $15 offer on the lot and the seller surprisingly agreed to it. Olaf’s Quest is worth about $6 and shipping it wouldn’t be worth it, so I guess I’m stuck with that, too.

That’s what I used. It wasn’t strong enough to easily degrade 20-year-old label adhesive from my experience, but maybe yours would go differently? I can’t call myself an expert in the field.

I haven't tried that, but extra virgin coconut oil works wonders to get label residue off of items. I've used it to get stubborn residue off of CD cases, glass items, etc. I think the fatty acids in the coconut oil breaks down adhesive residue. (Just make sure not to get it onto papers you need/want or cloth - it's oil after all.)

Un-du leaves no residue, it can be used on paper. Hoping to replicate other users' successes and remove some tape from a book I bought. Not sure how it interacts with plastic, I want to research that at some point. It comes in original formulation and low VOC formulation. I bought the former because the reviews for it were more favorable.

Goo-gone is a citrus oil base, sometimes needs to sit and soak the item first. Like your coconut oil, it leaves a residue. Goof-off is also good, it uses something different from goo-gone. The latter worked when the former didn't at removing 10-year old adhesive residue from metal. And a plastic razor is handy.

Also it wasn't the only thing I bought. I also got a mini subwoofer amp for a buddy, a USB hard drive adapter... and a sealed Coraline 4K Steelbook. But the steelbook was... not exactly mint.

I picked this up thinking "I can just find the normal case art and use that, then give away the case for someone to display", but then I realized... the discs have different art than the normal 4K release. Augh. At least they're fine.

I found Star Wars Episode I Racer Game Boy Color at a new game shop today. $10, clean label, complete with with battery cover. But I can't justify spending nearly $30 altogether on my SWEIR campaign just for the sake of a label and battery cover.

But on the bright side, I did score a Wii copy of Spy Fox in "Dry Cereal" for $6. If my bro ever lets my nieces play the Wii I so generously gifted his family in 2019, they'll love it.

Feels fishy but if someone actually got that deal that's wild. Would think even if it was legit to begin with what happens is they get hammered with messages and realize something is up.

Yeah. I’ve seen listings like that, and then the seller basically says that was just to get attention and then lists individual prices for each game that are much higher.

I've ran into that before. Back when CL was more popular there used to be a lot of just straight up time wasters as well. The worst is when they would set up a meeting knowing they aren't going to show up. I ended up with a rule that if someone wasn't going to talk on the phone I wouldn't proceed. Cut a lot of the bs. The move to facebook made that not necessary. Probably because people have their name attached to it. I've not got the ball rolling with anyone local on there and had something not work out yet. I do get people from far away that message me about shipping my listings despite me having things set to pick-up only. I really only list stuff there that isn't worth shipping. Speakers, weight bench, tv stuff like that.

I’ve been talking with the seller after the fact and seems legit, he has other things he’s getting rid of like a PS4, a gaming vest, to a microwave, and bbq pit. He said yes he did get hammered with messages last night and this morning but he believes in first come first served and sold to the first who asked, I was the second

I asked if he wanted to know why he got so many messages this morning and when he said yes I showed him the value of Xenosaga III & .Hack Quarantine and he about flipped his lid but resolved himself to the fact that he gave someone a great deal

Today, I was willing to send $11 for: Barney Under the Sea PC Game. Was asking $4 and at most, lettermail would be $3.60 plus envelope, but I never know how much a single is at these places lol. He said $5 for shipping. Good deal, seller was selling a lot, and I knew barney vhs tapes, some are rare, no real sales if I can recollect, but there was a 30-and odd uk release, and 60-something us release. Pretty sure it's the latter and someone may take it if there is someone with a higher price. No idea lol.

Sold 3 games, little big planets, for $20, even though I later realized I wrote $25 firm. All good, got some games to try gaming at some interval or later, and some to sell. I don't think I sold a ps3 game locally yet. Is the value of most 3 for $10 now? lol. $5 per ain't bang for your buck? lol

Seems I might have missed out on a lot. I was initially going to pay the $500 he wanted, thinking the first picture would leave to more gems in the process. He mentioned there's probably close or around 1000 pieces. Lotsa software I'd have to bundle, 16 big boxes full, and not the square ones. He did have 5 No One Lives Forever in box, 1 same game but GOTY edition, No one Lives forever 2, and 2 Die Hard Trilogy in box games. That's what made me jump on it. But after seeing all the software, german language, french language, learn english, there were a few alright software but lotsa junk. He did mention lotsa jewel case games new and sealed, but when he laid them out, it seemed they were all card or something less than quality games. And games in small boxes or dvd cases, some were sealed, but like, Cake Mania 3 Deluxe or something lol. I did today say, $400, than $420, than said $450 but no more, the work scares me. I think he wants to do something else with it now after me not going through, but starting to pitch for more gas, and she was like, $50. $550, and No One Lives Forver, all of them could have averaged to $100 on ebay or more, $80 profit a piece, that would have been my money. But I like good looking lots, and don't feel like overhauling myself for a week and a half with junk, so kinda glad I changed my mind. I would have overwhelmed myself lol

Usually I get good vibes from something when I make a deal. Today, sent $20, wasn't even an AMAZING deal, just a deal, that I thought I wanted. Thought with shipping it'd be $30 since all the games were priced at $10. I sent the money, sent the address...after my money went in, she didn't reply. She said the shipping would be $10, again, like a previous time, I thought shipping was low. Told me to send to a university email, maybe university kids don't have money, and this is what they do for beer money - make a page with lots of cheap items, some items are standout deals, and than collect and disappear. Ha ha, nah, what world is this. Hopefully she sends, but again, said tomorrow, there's now. I tend to believe people are honest unless they need something and have no way of getting to it, than they find other ways. I dunno what to think, def think shipping won't be that cheap, was too early in the morning for me, but there's no reason to assume, rather than just get some flags you don't like in terms of making deals. No response after money deposited - might be a grab and go lol. Meh, if that's the case, it's a hard lesson for me to be wiser and smarter with my money, not start spending here and there when I have some lol

Hmmm...now looking at her page, she's got lots of friends, maybe not a scammer. I would feel better if she replied, or somehow felt the full price I paid would be the cost of shipping...no idea lol

Smoked some better weed, feel better. Don't sweat the small things, but sometimes you like to feel content, and every trade involving shipping that's not via a mediator, is always something of a rush/buzz/ride beforehand. Gotta feel it, but I guess I went to cancel the etransfer, and it was taken, and there was a question she had to input, as it wasn't inputted, and no, thanks got it, will send tomorrow, take care....lol. I dunno

Lol, maybe I get too high. I like and trust people, but somehow the $10 shipping rate didn't make sense. Today she sent a tracking number, saying label created. I take it if label is created, she paid for it. Also noticed a 50% off shipping for new business for 12 months.

That may explain it. I'm back to loving ppl. Why relinquish into old mindsets, probably due to your own ineptness when in this world, there are good people who are trying to clear some space and move ahead like everyone else. Meh, there's always something that may go wrong. Seems by buying deals, with a negative mindset, it could be like minesweeping. Bad experience with London, by a student, but should have realized with that many friends, if I wrote that bs on her page, she wouldn't need that. Just always feel better with feedback, but I actually went to cancel the etransfer as it was sent, but she accepted, cuz I was like, the shipping...ok than. Back to the drawing board and hopefully waiting for 2 packages.

all that fuss, and no mention to what I'm getting. was mainly interested in possibly the doom and wolfenstein sharewares for me or will sell them off, some others in there and the command and conquer domination pack soundtrack new and sealed. others will be hard sells lol except wizardry maybe

not much of a haul, don't sweat the small stuff, I think I have to think or overthink and when it's the end of something, it's like the beginning of something, some confusion, some dread, some resistance...but gotta be in it to make it happen, and sometimes you just gotta go by the friend list if no ratings or the demeanour of the person, I had no reason to doubt that, except my peanut brain thought, they heard money coming in, they were like take, but when I said $25 maybe $30, why'd she say $20. Alright than, onto more progressive thinking lol

The real winners are you are empty, the spongebob game, I know the counter strike and call of duties sell locally fairly quick, maybe the unreals will too. Will put half life online. bloodrayne and breakout dvd game, unsure if even worth to sell out or will put locally and just let idle lol. Maybe I'm spending too much money making ok deals lol just need to get out of the house

This deal stayed in touch, not that great again, but last picture of games is all sealed, and I think stranglehold is too. He was out of the province, now back in, and said once his nephew gets here, he lives in Toronto, they're not too far, just won't spend the drive getting it, and will pay $50 delivered for it. Not going to lie here: I think this thread is better when you actually have the items in your possession...and deals you're finding on CL or the like always have the possibility of falling through, so they're not quite "finds", as you haven't obtained them yet.

Am I the only one who feels this way? This isn't to discredit your posts, @tarzanpat , but some of these deals have fallen through for you...and while I don't dislike seeing listings...it just doesn't feel like it fits the theme of this thread.

So a couple things here that mostly fit the find thread.

Got a Martin Logan Dynamo 700 coming. It was posted on an audio site for free but local pick up. I waited awhile before messaging to see if they would ship. I offered to pay a bit, but the guy said just the cost of shipping is fine. So he figures about $90 (less than my offer, think it's fine and he should be able to ship for this price). Guy sends me the receipt for the tracking number and whatnot. Turns out he went to the UPS store (big mistake) and ended up paying $157. Said to not worry about the difference. Well of course I had to check pirateship to see what it would have ran me for the same package. $57. OOF.

The talk about Metroid Prime Remastered here reminded me a store here had some copies because they are limiting to 1 per person. So I figure if I'm going there to get one to sell at cost here I'd like some other reasons to go to make it more worth the trip. I check their website for console trade-in prices and see $40 cash for old model PS1s. Yeah that seems nutty. I debate how many to take but just take two, don't want to push it. Grab a couple of the older models since I want those gone the most, take it there and got $55 in credit each. Covered Metroid Prime Remastered and banked the rest. We talked a bit of course and he said you are definitely the last person getting this rate. Sure enough on the site now it's $20 cash/$26 credit.

Well, I was right. She did ship, but she didn't include the sealed domination pack music cd which there was a picture of. She included some extras, prob all real commons, prob king's quest VI is the best in the bunch. For $20 with shipping, it was aiight, but still not that good. She didn't take my money and run, or buy beer with it lol, but whatever. She claims it's not there, maybe she sold a few lots, and this was in the music cd pile for one reason or another, no idea. Not browsing deals today, outta money, if ebay pays up, will be looking early next week. Weekends, sometimes find good deals, but there's more people free and looking. We'll see. Paid $20 for each game, the big winners are redguard and anachronox. Decided to keep the older title cuz the title speaks to me lol, so prob going to make $200 off of it after subtracting investment and taking one for me. Funny thing about this, is it was the same dude that sold me the fallout games during superbowl. Sold both games the next day, and the person bought 2 other games from my stockpile alongside them. I saw some games as I logged in at midnight, told myself no more looking for deals today, but it was midnight, technically or not technically, a new day lol. Awesome-o. It was one of the games back in the day I told myself to play, and only got a cd and manual in my collection. Think I didn't play it, and it was on my to play list. The strategy guide seems to be worth a bit on it's own, so I'm unsure if I'll bundle or separate. It's got a dent on the front cover page so not mint, but still a useable piece and good for what it was initially meant for. Big fan of elder scrolls but no idea what redguard is about. Tho it sold for $400 used once, now new games are being sold for that, and it's usually at least about half price between new and used.

Balor of the Evil Eye had a cool title, but graphics seemed older and reading about it, not too interested. listed the games out, not as cheap as I would have thought. So not keeping any from those big boxes. Turns out he had Jagged Alliance 2 for pc for $20 too. That's the only game I didn't look up. That was one like balor about that price give or take, won't go pick that up but could've when picking them up. Oh well, to more deals.

There's a few deals but had one idling trying to get delivery and it got picked up, not one I mentioned that I'll get beforehand. Still looking for quantity and quality but that's usually a rarity lol

Was going to list out redguard for $200 and thought that might be high, til I saw a rip at the one at that price, no rip but no map and pamphlets in another and 12 watchers for $270. Went, sometimes it's easier to get some chunk of change from the bigger things, than it is to sell the lower things out and try to not do deals on those lol, time's a coming when I gotta go through my listings and do some legworks or just leave them up forever lol

Today, saw Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb, Tron 2.0, both in small boxes for mac, new and sealed, battlefield 2142 but I think this was pc new and sealed. Asked for shipping, no go, mother was like we can go, but I want to spend the whole day in Niagara Falls. I was like...was asking $15 a piece. Some other ones were there, but less worthy.

So I guess I didn't get that deal.

But just got a deal for $30. $30 for shipping. But it's a lot, and some quality in there too. Not sure, he said some things, I asked, but bought. As usual with lots this big, not everything may be there. But the biggest thing I saw was a need for speed underground 2 in box. Worst case, I got a jewel case with 1 of the 2 cds. I'll sell it partially incomplete lol. Had some stickers on the front, those usually suck lol. Some other jewel case only games, lots of boxes, but nothing standout ish, even games that are more arcade or at home real casual gaming in boxes, but I think I did good. When he ships tomorrow, I took pictures of the ad, so I'll show you what I went by. Not showing pictures til it's enroute lol.

Isn't Blackgate also an entirely different game, from its console counterparts?

I think you’re right Frank. I think I beat the 3ds version years ago. It’s a side scroller on rails (kind of) if I remember correctly.

Yep. It's a platform adventure, not quite a Metroidvania. It's... not very good compared to the main series. The PC port is kinda so so.

I gotta stop buying left, right and center lol. Just bought a ps3 with games. Paid $100 and think I want to keep both original controllers, charging cable, modnation racers and mortal kombat. If I make $100 on the rest of it, I'll still consider it a win. One presto fare again, but I got too much debt to be making mediocre deal and freezing assets haha. The ps3 is outfitted for gaming, can party it up, and got some games for it.

I got lucky at my local thrift store today. Got a Nintendo 64 with hookups, 4 controllers, expansion pack, memory card, and a rumble pack for $10.
I've been wanting a 64 for a while now, so I'm pretty excited. I had a cart to test it and it works, so let me know if you have any games to sell.

Also got a PS2 lot for $10 as well, system doesn't power on, but it was still worth it because it had 2 memory cards, a PS1 and 2 controller, all official.

I have like 5 PS2 memory cards now, so I can trade a couple if anyone needs one.

Not powering on at all is fairly unusual. Wonder what it's like inside the system.

I just made my friend's night by winning an auction he had dropped out of. Got Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Riders for $33 altogether.
[imgt w=375 h=500]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/rNYAAOSwA3tkBAqh/s-...[/imgt]

We were playing D&D virtually, and he had told us that he was going to pause the game later in the session to bid on this lot. I subtly probed to learn his max limit ($20.50), which the auction surpassed in the last few minutes. His birthday's coming up, and we always have a gift exchange--I had no idea what to get him before he mentioned this auction, so I figured I'd be a total chad and secretly add my own cash to the pot. I placed a sniper bid of $30.50 and won. I listened as he observed the final tally before spilling the beans that I won it.

Shadow (loose) and Sonic Riders (loose) are worth about $35 and $20 respectively, so this was a good deal. It was also a nice friend thing to do. cool smile

Got the games from the pictures I showed you before. A few of the jewel case games are sealed, but not many, and prob very common, but the winners in the box (was pretty big and heavy to carry) was obviously the need for speed underground 2 which is complete with manual and jewel, a new and sealed indy car series game, a new and sealed garfield game, a new and sealed world airliners game - all in small box. Did notice a name on a few cds, but they weren't in the ones of concern. Only disappointment and not really cuz my ps3 can play ps1, so I got an old school c&c game. The Red Alert 2 game came with the soviet disc, than 2 discs for retaliation for ps1 in it. Not too bad. Guess this one alleviates all the ok deals I recently made and froze up some money in lol

Didn't want to drive, Bought something for $50. Said I'd offer $45 + shipping, than he didn't reply, I said I'll do $50 + shipping, and he replied lol. No idea, but shipping was a little pricey, I noticed need for speed collection, that should be about what I paid, vice city, prob the c&c collection, c&c generals, emperor battle for dune worth something too but can see some corner damage, didn't even inquire if all there and complete, but after doing some thinking, we already traded before. Was good before. Got the tracking info today, so it's enroute. $89.10 CAD total, Wanted to pay $80, but with shipping quote gambled an extra 9.10 so $89.10 for what I couldn't see. I thought the street racing syndicate game was rare, even had a watcher on my incomplete one. Now there's a new in box one for cheaper than mine. Still should be alright.

But here's the kicker, is this guy using another picture and sending a UK release game. Or did he misprice something, like I do occasionally:

I got an excellent deal from @egg , which arrived on Monday: A Japanese 2DS, a charger, a Mario stylus, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (European copy, which I didn't know existed), and four other DS puzzle games. Total price: $50. I've now successfully homebrewed the 2DS in an effort to preserve Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Super Smash Bros.'s online modes. I doubt I'll be able to buy any DLC fighters for the latter before the eShop closes--I'd need a Japanese copy of the game before Monday to do that, and I highly doubt I'll find that in time. But this was a sweet deal!

I got out to a couple of flea markets yesterday without expecting much (most markets in my area have games set at eBay prices or higher), but I was pleasantly surprised to actually find some deals. I got Lethal Weapon and Alfred the Chicken for $15 all together and have confirmed that they work, despite the damage. The funny thing about that sale is that the seller touted the nearby copies of Tetris as the real treasures, and I didn't feel the need to disabuse him of the notion. The Berenstain Bears game was $3 and is a gift for my son, since that book is a favorite of his right now. The vinyl Casper toys were $5 for all three, and they're going to be raffle prizes at my cult movie night.

got this in today. Not the best deal, but I think I'll be able to make around $50 from emperor battle for dune though not in ideal condition, will be able to make $30 from halo 1 and 2 prob together. Than I should make $15 from the command & conquer generals.

Vice city, the rest is what I call hard sells, so all in all, I'll make my money back, and have lots more. The need for speed collection, I gotta think about it, no case came with, so I'm unsure if all the games need keys or just a few, but I actually have the hot pursuit 2 key from a dif collection, but it's missing that game from it. Command & conquer, missing renegade, didn't see keys...but has renegade in seperate box. Might be something to part out, and not sure what to do with the box. Will have to give the c&c collection, and need for speed collection a think. I think there are more gamers for those games than collecters, and might be the way to go. Though I like to keep it in tact usually as I got it. Doesn't always happen.

Seems when I get the feeling of gambling, like Darrel from Storage Wars, I should stop myself. Ha ha

Today was a rainy day, been sitting too long. He just posted them up for $70. I've been spending too much money and maybe shouldn't have bartered, but I guess sometimes you can. The big winners I think are grandia II which for sure alone with box can net me back my money if a new and sealed same box is at $400 or best offer or is that just crazy. no idea. x-com collector's and daggerfall should also make around my money back. than i got a lot. guild universe and guild wars eye of the north are new. guess I didn't mind being out and about for a bit today, and seems it's the last deal I'll try to take before I'm like, this is a stellar deal. I hope it's mine. Sit there and lose my mind until they reply lol. Prob not that drastic, but whatever, some more to add, though I need more money lol. Another deal, was going to go yesterday. Delayed until today. Kinda got fooled but still got a good deal. Here goes:

Yesterday, I saw Daikatana for pc in box (box a little worn), urban chaos in box - this is going into my collection -, and samurai showdown 2 in box. As I was talking, I checked again, and she had a Daikatana new in box for $15. The previous 3 games were $25. $40 total. I get there, it's raining bad, duck in, start smoking, and text her. Walk to where she said, minutes pass, nothing, I start smoking my joint and cig, doing a little singing and dancing skit but there's no one really there, and she opens the garage behind me lol. Oh well, than I get home. And it's all there, all good, BUT: The Daikatana that was new and sealed, has a shrinkwrap that's stuck together with tape. I'm like this has been slit open, and open it, the box is a little crushed from the inside, and the cd case has a sticker with the number 106 on it. Def not new lol. Won't even mention it to her, nice lady. I even stuck a second presto fare in, but I guess they safely got me there and back and not too wet from today's crazy rains at times.

I appreciate a great deal like the rest of y'all. I just wanted to pop-in and share a quick story about a PC I recently built for my nephew. tldr version: mid-tower system full build with a Ryzen 5600X and RTX 3070 for $650

My 11yo nephew hit me up in mid January saying he wanted to get into PC gaming and that he'd been saving his money from Christmas and his birthday plus the a few hundred he made from selling off some higher priced Pokemon cards. I knew I wanted to build him something that had a little bit of headroom to grow, so I wasn't willing to compromise too much, which meant that the higher priced items were going to have to be bought used. I started combing through posts on Offer Up and Facebook Market Place to see what was out there and what were some of the floors on prices for CPUs, GPUs, and motherboards. I also have access to family in some nearby cities, so I checked in some farther places as well.

After a couple of weeks of looking around, we decided that we're going with an AMD system. There was a clear upgrade path to the 5800X3D should he ever need a faster CPU to reduce bottlenecks on any GPU upgrades he might make and there were plenty of AM4 motherboards on the market to keep prices down. We lucked out and found an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi for $100 and the guy was also selling a 16GB kit of Corsair Vengeance RGB for $50, talked him down to $125 for both. Solid deal for sure and we were on our way towards building a PC.

The next deal we had was insane. I was shopping for CPUs and GPUs when I came across a listing in another town for an RTX 3070 for $150. This was too good to be true pricing, but I had to inquire about it. The guy was well rated on Offer Up and he said the card was never used for mining. Even when I told him he could get a lot more for the card, he still was fine with selling it for the price he listed. I knew this was going to go fast and I was a good 1.5-2hrs away. I called my sister-in-law who lived in the area and asked her if she could do me a favor. Thankfully she could and acted fast to secure the card. It was in like new condition and included the original box. I was stoked! I kicked her an extra $30 as a thank you making the total cost $180.

The other two stand out deals was a Ryzen 5600X for $60. Some kid had recently bought a pre-built with this CPU but upgraded the processor, so he was willing to sell this part for cheap. And then a 650W 80 Gold fully modular power supply from Cooler Master that was brand new for $50. The rest of the parts we ordered off of Amazon.

I went on vacation in the Shenandoah Valley last week and managed to find a few games at a local flea market for $8 total. Unfortunately a woman who usually sets up with games wasn't there due to the cold, but these were still good finds for me and are going into the collection. I don't know that I'll ever play Rise of Legends, but it was only $2 so I picked it up for the Big Huge Games nostalgia. They were a local studio here in Baltimore that a bunch of my friends used to work for...until Curt Schilling acquired the studio and promptly wrecked it. I actually went to the liquidation sale for the studio with a friend who used to work there - it was a a very surreal experience.

Thanks. My brother isn't into video games, so that's been kind of my thing with my nephews. He's been enjoying it, but he's been playing on a large 4k TV. I convinced my brother to get him a 240hz monitor which should come next week.

I got one of my other nephews hooked on the Legend of Zelda franchise. And one of my PS5 preorders went to my sister in law to give to her kids for Christmas that year. The excitement these kids have brings me a lot of joy.

I definitely share the same feeling. When I get my relative's kids things that make them excited, it gives me joy. In fact, I just ordered them something from Amazon (a type of cookie they enjoy), and sent it directly to them. I know it'll make them excited, and that makes me smile :)

Saturday yard sales here in Baltimore got rained out, but Sunday was beautiful so I hit some that moved their date later by one day. First up was a community sale where I scored some goodies for the kids and this nice little Game Boy/DS lot for $25. One person mentioned maybe having some Intellivision buried in the basement, but they didn't seem keen on digging it out so I didn't press them on it.

image

After that I hit a community flea market on the other side of town and picked up the following items for $13. We recently rewatched the Keanu Reeves' Constantine (a better movie than most people give it credit for, IMHO), so I figured I'd pick up these books since they were only $1 apiece.

image

And for what it's worth, I'm planning on keeping the items in the second picture but everything in the first picture except for Looney Tunes, Pac-Man Collection, and My Frogger are available for trade. I was thinking of keeping Advance Wars: Dark Conflict since it's kind of odd to find a PAL game in the wild here, but I already have Days of Ruin so if there's someone out there keen to get all of the original Advance Wars games I don't mind parting with it.

I just nabbed CIB copies of Locoroco 1 and 2 for $23.30. I’ve been low key looking out for them since November. Every time I find a listing that puts both games together, I put it in my watchlist and it vanishes the next day. So when I saw this a few minutes ago, I made sure to jump on it. The first game’s box has a stain on it, but it’s pretty minor. This was a good deal overall in my eyes.

It's what convention-going people say: "If you see something you like and want, get it right then and there, because you never know if it's going to be there when you get back (either in a few minutes or the next day)."

Pretty good day of yard sales:

I found a bundle of ElfQuest books at the flea market. The first eight volumes for 20 bucks (down from $24).

A set of volumes 1 to 6 recently sold for 500 bucks... the books I got aren't in the mintiest shape, but they're readable, so anything I get is good with me.

Also I want that Ghostbusters 1+2 set. :p

Picked up Samus/EMMI and Zelda Loftwing Amiibos from Gamestop for $5 each. Mud boots for my kid for $3 at a flea market. Could've bought some decent Xbox/PS2 games for $3 each, but I'd never play them so I let someone else get the deal. (Nothing super valuable)

At the flea market I saw 3 tables selling 3d printed stuff. They had pretty hefty prices on them, and all of them had stuff that they weren't licensed to sell. Not surprising.

True. I'd say the disappointment and regret of not getting something you were thinking about getting, because now it's no longer available, is often much higher/stronger than the feeling of looking back at the purchase and deciding that it wasn't a great purchase after all.

Saturday morning yard sales were kind of disappointing - I hit 20-30 houses and didn't see any competition, but there were no video games to be found. There were lots of houses that said they were holding on to old games for their adult children, and while I can respect that it gets kind of frustrating to hear after the fourth or fifth time. The best I came home with was a $1 small Samsung flatscreen for use when I set up games at events.

Sunday was kind of great, though. I didn't go out in the morning, but in the afternoon some local kids were going down the street to let people know they were having a yard sale nearby. It was about to time to take the kids out to the park, so I figured what the heck and stopped by. Anyway, I mentioned video games and the mom (who we know a little from around the neighborhood) brought out a box with the items below. I offered $60, she said she was thinking $20, so we settled on $40 since she wasn't sure any of it still worked. A few hours later and with a little elbow grease I got everything working, plus she said they might have more stuff in the basement, so that's rad. So yeah, random kids came by my house to tell me about a yard sale 2 minutes away and I found good games for cheap. Peak yard sale experience right there.

I uh, bought a PC. Sort of.

One of my usual flea market booths brings boxes full of electronics on Tuesdays, and I usually go there to buy cables or other things I might need. I found a power supply that caught my attention and I pulled on it, and out came a mini PC thing.

One of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

I tried powering it up there but didn't really notice anything. So I asked how much and was told "five bucks." I got home, started poking at it, still couldn't get power so I opened it up. 4 GB RAM and a 128 GB SSD inside. Okay. I reset the CMOS thinking that might be the problem but then I looked at the extension I use and noticed... it was set to the off switch. So I turned that back on and got power. It booted to a fresh Windows 10 install, but I shut it off when it asked me for a country.

The thing has a Windows 10 Pro OEM sticker with a key attached to the bottom, so my guess is this had an OS at some point but was reset when it was tossed or donated or whatever. I'll poke around it a bit more to see if it has any issues, but it's nice to have a secondary Windows 10 PC I can use for capturing video. I just need to get more RAM and a bigger SSD...

This is the third time I've seen this mentioned today, and the third time I'm going to say HELL NO.

This thing requires you to shut off ALL OF WINDOWS' SECURITY. No one should be using this -at all.- It's a massive security risk and people are going to get their crap hacked.

https://docs.atlasos.net/getting-started/installat...

I know you mean well, but this is extremely dangerous. Maybe if the system was kept offline. Maybe.

Thanks for sharing. Yes, Windows Defender is removed and the steps point people to disabling Memory Integrity (which Microsoft also recommends to do also temporarily for performance - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/option...). Both of these can be added back in if you want the added security. If you're like me, who only visits a handful of trusted websites and never opens a suspicious email attachment, then you should be fine. The firewall is on though.

Automatic updates and automatic driver installs from Windows Update are also disabled. It's debatable if this causes security issues as new drivers/updates can hurt as much as help.

A year or so back I went to a community yard sale and bought a guy's table of PS1 games for $100. The yard sale was held again today. Unfortunately I had a dentist appointment but and arrived 30 min late I still did alright:

Well, first off it was promoted through a radio station I just happened to be listening to earlier in the week, I was one of many callers that was given priority access to attempt unlocking the chest. They also told me what cell phone store to go to, time, and day. So I was the first one there an hour early but when the radio station got there for preregistration on what order they would start with from all the callers throughout the week I became 3rd in line because I was too busy rewatching holes (03’. It’s the 20th anniversary of that movie lol). So a medium sized crowd drew to watch and maybe try their luck in case all the people who called in didn’t unlock it, but I got it on my turn, the 3rd attempt of the day.

The best part is that all the keys were numbered and I picked my lucky number off random.org (key #29)

that's what I got, for free. I actually thought it was the person whom I previously bought a ps3 where I kept a bunch of controllers and just about cut even, but had controllers and games for myself, and some extra. Turns out, it's the one where I bought the ps3 beforehand, and kept the one from him for myself. Both people I bought things actually said they prob have some extra things for it, and will let me know. Heard that before and never panned out lol.

The ps3 slim I sold from that big game and xbox 360 lot a long time ago, turned out not to run correctly. Turned it on for parts so was still lucky. Good I now have one that works, and I was thinking the gold controller kinda seems harder to press the buttons, so will test it out soon, in any case, got a replacement controller if that one indeed isn't right, and some extras.

Have been sick lately, had a fever for 3 days from 22-24, 25th, til today still kinda coughing and sometimes sniffly. Gotta get over it. In any case, not making too many good deals, and I shared it on some sites, that now, I may have more competitiion. All good, kinda slacking at taking the computer seriously, but money is tight now, so onwards and gotta get over and feel better. To bigger and brighter things lol. Need to do a contest run, skipped April but feeling optimistic now lol

So the people that lived there did so for only 60 days in this nice house, but they ruined it with their cats, you could smell that cat pee smell as you sifted through the clothes, luckily these people were smart enough to not let the cats near the electronics I found yesterday and what I found just needed a wipe down with a Clorox wipe or two. There was so much stuff in the front lawn, two refrigerators, a stove and extra doors for it, beds (but I told people I noticed a can of bed bug spray nearby), drawers galore, basically anything you could think of they had, I found packaging for a nsfw blow up doll and the man next door whose also the property owner said “yeah someone early walked off with a box of dildos earlier”. The scene was crazy as this house is situated on a busy street and people were pulling over to gawk, some yelled obscenities like “it’s not your s#!+ a$$#oles” and others were calling friends to come help sort through everything. The police took this opportunity to park nearby and start running everyone’s plates registration that parked I guess to see if anyone had an outstanding warrant or no registration cause they didn’t care about what we were taking even after I found the gun. But were talking to people as they made their way back to their vehicles. So, a picture speaks 1000 words, i’ll post what it looked like when I arrived:

image

My friend loves board games and I got them that “What do you meme” that was on that tote, it was unused.

Oh, and there was this passive aggressive mother and daughter who drove their car in the driveway and declared the area closest to them was already spoken for and now they’re just trying to figure out how haul everything in their suv, it kinda sucked they declared that stuff theirs but they were already there when I arrived and were nice about it

The game systems were under those dirty mattresses and box springs, felt itchy just touching the beds but it paid off, the consoles all work flawlessly

Took the day off for the holiday, decided to spend it thrifting. Went to a city I have never been before. Went pretty well:

Everything here was about $40. The cases for Rome are shot, but it is for personal viewing so not a big deal.

Finally visited the pawnshop at their new location and found:

Xbox Series X 1TB Expansion $50

PS4 Controller $5

Turned down a gen 1 switch for $100, the joycons didn’t match the color on the box, the left joycon had been removed incorrectly too many times and now slides off with minimal effort, the game slot is broken (easily replaced for $30), and the fw is 16

Thanks, Frank. I actually haggled them down from $80, two tips pawn shop employees have told me is that it's easier to haggle at the beginning of the month versus the end of the month when they have to meet sales quota & to also look how long they've had the product when possible, that expansion card had been in the system since October 1st 2022

Good tip, I've done this a fair bit at classic video game stores even. At some point most stores would rather move on from something and actually get it gone than try to get every last dollar out of it. Especially if it's something that's been trending down recently.

I think TI calculators are overpriced...the only reason why they can charge $100+ for them is because they're mandated by colleges and schools for classwork...

On my way back from my grandfather’s funeral, we stopped at an outdoor flea market. Dad was willing to shell out $23 for this lot:

River City Ransom goes for $45 and I got it for $2, so that’s something! I was low key looking for a cheap Power of Illusion, and I’ve been needing another 3DS cart holder. Add in a AAA PS4 game for $5 and a $26 Pokémon spin-off for $8, and you’ve got a good deal! The seller was even nice enough to let me switch out the dirty Mickey cart for a cleaner one he had in a bag of DS games.

My backlog grows and grows. Will it ever be conquered?

We finally had a dry weekend here in Baltimore, so I went out yard saling and had the best luck I've had since probably 2018. First up was a community sale in one of the nicest areas of the city that I like to hit up every year. There were less sellers this year than in the past, but this was made up for by the fact that some new folks were out. I spotted the BlazBlue games , Metropolis, and books at one of the first sales I hit. I grabbed those then asked about more games and the guy brought out some of his old GBA games. He wasn't sure if they still worked and, TBH, the contacts weren't in great shape, but I was definitely willing to risk it for such an awesome little cache. I ended up paying $60 for everything and, after a little elbow grease, I've gotten everything working again.

In the same community I picked up that cicada shirt for $1, and I mention it mainly because it turned out the seller worked on the SubNautica games, and it was cool getting to chat with him for a bit.

After that community sale I hit another one closer to my own neighborhood. The PS2 games were $5 for the stack so I grabbed those since they seem like my jam. After that I followed a map they had posted to a really out of the way sale, and I'm super glad I did. There was a young couple there clearing some stuff out, and when I asked about video games they brought out a stack of PS3 games and a DSi with some games. I grabbed the entire lot for $70, and they seemed to be grateful to be rid of the DSi since it reminded the woman of a bad breakup.

After that I hit up a flea market at a bar I frequent. No games, but I did get that Austin Powers lunchbox for $3 and the sasquatch doll for $1, and the'll make great prizes for the crappy movie night I host at the same bar.

Also, I made a great discovery. For years I've been trying to balance yard saling with childcare, since taking one of the kids out with me slows me down but leaving them both at home tires out my wife. This time, however, and I took both of them out and it worked pretty well! I just left them in the car with the windows rolled down while I hopped out at sales (I was never outside of eye contact/ear shot and the weather was cool) and they just entertained each other while I was out. I had a good time, they had a good time, and my wife got some much needed time off. So yeah, I'm excited to see if we can make this a regular thing.

I just bought the PS4 (free upgrade to PS5) Hell-A Edition (includes season pass, Tarot cards, pins, extra DLC, steelbook, map) of Dead Island 2 for $75. The guy even gave me the GameStop receipt and it had the protection plan on it too. His girlfriend gave it to him for his birthday, and he opened it up without realizing it didn’t have a digital version (when he only had the digital PS5), so he was just looking to sell it quickly. I lucked out and saw it right after it was posted, and he met me immediately. He even let me test the season pass and DLC codes there. The whole thing took less than half an hour from when I saw it on FB Marketplace. This just jumped up to the next thing I’m playing after I finish Star Wars: Survivor.

I drove to a nearby house to get a PS3 lot for a friend. While I was there, I casually asked the owner if he had any other gaming paraphernalia he was looking to get rid of. After a little hesitation, he offered me his NES for $25. I agreed to pay him $30.

As you can see, there’s some great stuff in here! The whole lot’s in dirty condition—in fact, there’s disconcerting yellow-green gunk on an unseen item—but there are some valuable and fun items in here! My two favorites are at the bottom-center. Sadly, no Zelda II. Day ruined.

just went browsing in the US, and typed Charleston, West Virginia:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/21669416...

just typed in the tunnels & trolls game, and seems that itself is already worth the deal if close by, as he mentions pick up only, in Lebanon, OH

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/25901180...

this one is 1k, but over 100 boxed games. I see Daggerfall which is $200 CAD prob after fees and sale, see fallout 1 and 2, both them are $500 CAD, in first picture see all those Ultima games, I know those can be money, see wizardry too, planescape torment, others, do your own research, and I'm pretty sure it'll be hard to haggle him down when he's downsized it from 5k, but that might be a ploy. Big buck pc games, sell much faster than the cheap ones, but prob cuz they're in demand every so often. Lots of money, I'd say if he's hard on offer, I dunno, I'd do the math if it was local lol, unsure, in Murphy NC

not sure, next time, I'll make a post where I'll share better than average deals, but maybe if it helps someone make some bucks, one might be too big of an investment and there might not be enough quality. sorry for filling this up with a potential hot deal and one not for me, but I'm slowly getting back into it, and hope to score some more better deals

Probably good, but lots of people, I told about the trick, to ask for games, and ask for pictures. And sometimes, they have games posted, I ask for pictures, and they go unavailable already. They want money, there's only a few people who won't sell to others interested beforehand and want to do a full sale and not disappoint people, though the good stuff goes early. My uncle used to do yard sales, but not for games. He's no longer around, and I got into it and have a bike and did a driving or biking route and had a pack or duffle bag. That didn't last too long. I am sure some are good, but a trick for all you USer's, try to ask for a pic if they won't sell before sale, at least you know what's up. I might be trying yard sales at some point, but I'd have to go with mom and make it a thing with her prob lol

Sometimes, it's better to just go for it, rather than let a deal slip through your fingers and then you regret it every time you think about it.

Better to spend let's say $25 on something, and worst comes to worse you wasted $25, than to not spend it and then find out that you had let an opportunity slip through your fingers.

Nothing too exciting yesterday. A wii for $5 but no games. Quick game store dump for credit and wow this story seems boring but while it was being tested I started talking with the owner (we knew each other for like 8 years before he opened the store, not exactly a huge vintage gaming community here) and I find out he's going to sell his childhood Turbo Grafx system and grab an Analogue Duo. He slashes prices on stuff to where I can't refuse it really. He puts it on hold and pulls a couple games off their eBay page for me as well as I go back home to grab a V2 Switch and a few cheap games to trade in.

Ended up being $380 ($200 for system plus the everdrive, $100 and $80 for the games), but after store credit just $150 out of pocket.

Haven't counted. Here's the deal I got today. Offered $80. The real winner: transformers war of cybertron. The rest of the games, the half life counter strikes are prob worth something, gore in small box, might put it away for a bit, quake wars enemy territory limited edition. I asked to see the transformers game, had manual, disc a bit scratchy, but still good. When I was close to home, I went back and opened call of duty 4 game of the year edition, and it had a burn for halo retail was the heading. I was like, oh oh. Than I checked the games above, and all were complete. Well counterstrike had jewel and box, did the manual for those have some cd key? I dunno, still a decent deal. Had an oversized pizza slice at a good price. I'm like pizza = cheap dinner. It stuffed me up and I had eaten very light before going lol.

As for how many games, I got a lot of 1500+ new jewel case games, and lots have not sold. I think a lot are multiples, and I for one reason or another, list one at a time lol. No idea, prob a time consuming and not good strategy. I also am thinking of liquidating some of these games and doing multiple item listings and lowball all other listings and see if that works lol. The other games, have a lot. More than I can tell. Unsure. lol

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/19201043... that's the deal for $80 I got

and the deal I messaged (fell asleep in the day, got no reply back when I messaged, and sold today by 12 or so. So it must have been picked up today from someone yesterday. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/29366209... - I see like 4-5 boxes of tic tac royale, that's a bummer, but would have gone for the possibility of 3 boxes of other new and sealed jewel case games. Free is free, I'm not so lucky. 2 great deals, and the great is for new greats, not me, I'm an old timer in here with this pc game thing haha. 38 and counting! lol

They’re complete in great condition, with boxes and instruction manuals, and even a handful of other random BIONICLE pieces. Adjusted for inflation, each set would be $44 nowadays, so essentially paying $37 for each isn’t egregious.
[imgt w=1600 h=1572]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/3CEAAOSwG-piuLgi/s-...[/imgt]
[imgt w=560 h=380]https://biosector01.com/w/images/bs01/6/63/Set_Lav...[/imgt]

I always liked BIONICLE, but the playsets LEGO released for it between 2005 and 2007 were super appealing to me. They were pretty dense with play features and minifigures. The Visorak Battle Ram, the smallest set of the wave, has all six heroes and eight Visorak spiders—that’s way more generous than they needed to be!

I wouldn't bite for more than $25-40 personally, but only because some are going in good condition for ~$100 these days.

Also depends on which model, too. OLED's are nice, but the screens are a bit on the expensive side sometimes. 2001's are good, I guess?

yeah, in jewel case though. Had to get a new shelf just for them pretty much lol. Slice was cut in 2 and each slice was decent. little low on pepperoni, lil thick on crust. cheese was awesome, overall it was decent. usually the best big slices are close to the ocean, though we had a chain called big slice here before. Not sure. $4.50 and it was breakfast, lunch, and pushed dinner back. I eat less in the warmer seasons lol.

Not that many boxed games. Trying to give ppl good deals, and got a repeat interested, and someone new today. Gave lotsa games there free as $5, maybe someone would buy but I need the money, and yesterday, was a bit lower, prob would have asked more for it today, but was in a giving mood yesterday lol

but I guess I'm one of the good guys. usually cater more to collectors, but only because there aren't that many gamers around here. Or they're into the new, or on retro console.

Resellers try, but I try to get a little fairer and do give real good prices usually. Ppl would pay more separate, and the shipping. But still feel like I'm fair and do it good.

actually what am I talking about. I take the lowest price, and round down. of ebay and take into account the toll of it. And usually there are higher prices. But some things, I mean $5 games, I can def get $5 for it per selling one by one, but that's usually because shipping is high cuz it's a bulky game. Either way, making some good deals for ppl today, as I get great deals in too, but put my time in finding them. Sometimes scrolling late at night cuz I'm bored, but not recently. gotta set parameters, but lots of different search titles. Sometimes it's what and how you search that makes you find something.

- Blood (with Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage) - 10$ got this, but I think it's disc only. $16 shipped. I remember selling complete jewels for about $105 shipped. Thinking the cd only can fetch $55 or $60 total shipped? Unsure.

I said I'd send money next morning, he said, he'll include this: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/194237104259?hash=item2d39... free with the jewel and ship. I see it sold for $15 CAD shipped from australia, so maybe the price on there now is a little inflated. if I didn't see the sold, I'd prob post at $40.

I realize I give lots of games at around $5, but as I'm checking some older games for local sales, I'm seeing the prices rose. Far Cry 1 small box, had 3, sold 1 in a bundle for $5 give or take, trying to get $10 for another one, if not, throw them up on ebay lol. The world keeps on pumping, you just gotta get into the rhythm and keep on, for some reason or another, I'm feeling like I need to take it easy - energize, feel what I want than get back into another round of putting yourself in the rotation. No cigar, don't check that often, and there are others quick on things too. Than again no price for it anywhere, see Marathon 2 in that weird shape boxed sell for $270. See marathon 2 and marathon infinity sold for way more, jewels only, and that's the 3rd installment. Mighta been a quick sale at prob a list of $400...either way, no point in dwelling thinking what would have been lol

Some guy brought a box of kids DVDs and he said "five for a dollar". So I got five. He said he got tons of relatively new releases in storage and he'd bring them down next week, so we'll see. It's apparently all Walmart discards / clearance stuff.

I got the two latest Spider-Man movies (probably for reselling or trading), a Barbie set with some random discs that I wanted to look at, and two other discs for a lot of kids movies I'm setting up. He had Everything Everywhere, but on DVD, so I didn't bother with it. Hopefully he brings the Bluray version next week.

He also had the complete Bones and Dukes of Hazzard sets for five bucks each, sealed, but the discs sounded loose so I didn't bother (also they were so bulky they would've been noticed by customs on the way back...)

working on 2 smaller deals. Nothing has been panning out, but I haven't been in rhythm

you know when your head is on, and you're thinking too much, but the ambiance gets the best of you, and you somehow feel this place lost the appeal. well not quite that, but life has been giving me a hassle. but i came to a realization, nothing is permanent in life, that's the wisdom of so much death talk, and everything temporal for the long haul.

I don't quite mean ppl, and I don't mean making money to sustain the balance of living life. There's a grand ol fable that says the wind gushed and came, and the person just held onto their jacket tighter. As the sun came and just smiled, the person took the jacket off. The wind and the sun put a bet on who could do it, and it's just a jacket, don't get your panties in a bunch cuz you feeling giddish. Brutishness only headbutts other brutishness, but when the veil of this thin layer objective of life is lifted, it's just the curtains we got as your senses were pastelling the world with thought trying to get more life in. But we prob won't be dinosaurs in extinction, but ride our fiery suns like chariots out of this nursery rhyming norse morse. Not coding anything, just saying this world isn't take all, but you do and do, not to dodo out, but because with all the small things, you stencil out the concept for the bigger things. But when it comes to putting the bigger things into equation, you kinda seem blank, or riddle of. I don't want more bs. But I don't know what I'm searching for. Time to finetune this engine, and get to summer and feel and be a little more alright, with everything getting better, but just like every high, you always level off. Grounded on earth, 3rd rock from the sun, the level that keeps mediocrity searching for higher meaning and lower indifferent purpose. But is there really a seasaw of life, or is it the masquerade just like the book: the giver, are the hospitals playing tricks with us, or like the mazerunner, are we from the program, and others live different, or like mockingjay where everything run on is just a stimulation of the same old mind control propaganda thinking the tick developing in the blink from hearing something over and over is getting into our heads. I don't think it's all propaganda, nor do I think we're special individually. I think it's all for one and one for all, but the ppl that seem to give their opinion don't seem to really put it as such, or is the power of dominion the blanket cushion for god and another scapegoat to hail or villianize through the tenets of this short time. Duress on, live on, and try to do some good. But in the real world as it shifts, it seems we can only really work on ourselves.

To better deals! lol

I’m over at my cousin’s right now, and I’ve been keeping an eye out for a cobalt blue 3DS I lent him years ago. No sign of it, sadly, but I did find the instruction manual for Golden Sun: Dark Dawn that he let me keep. I bought the cartridge from him last year, so he doesn’t mind if I take any other items related to it. Here’s hoping I can find the game’s box, or better yet, my 3DS.

My best find all year:
[imgt w=640 h=853]https://i.imgur.io/k4UbQR4_d.webp?maxwidth=640&sha...[/imgt]

The prodigal son returns! This is my cobalt blue 3DS, which I bought in high school. Back in 2019, I lent it to my cousin in Wisconsin so he could play Pokémon Omega Ruby. After he got home from playing it on vacation, he went quiet about it and later said he had no idea where it went. I’ve been kicking myself for lending it so carelessly across state lines. Given some strife in the family that has mostly passed, I thought it was impossible to get it back.

But I’m at his house right now on vacation, as mentioned above. We returned from the Dells and while he was upstairs, I randomly chose to look in his assorted Switch bin. I recognized an old DS case I gave him ages ago, and felt a rectangular shape inside it. Sure enough, the 3DS was sitting inside it with Omega Ruby nestled snugly in the card slot. It looks like it’s been untouched for four years. It still has a charge and knows the correct date, but its buttons leave much to be desired.

I will never lend another special-edition console across state lines for the rest of my life, especially not one with sentimental value.

with shipping to Canada set at $23...and free US shipping. For all you americans, this is a solid deal. You will make some money lol. But whatever. $7.35 or so CAD for one cd only, has 2.

I got mine, and it's got back insert. But see in sold listings, it sold for cheaper recently. Oh well, sharing the deal above, I'll have some competition before my version finally sells, unless someone else puts it up for less lol but it'll be a while before I list, not that long, tomorrow is my last free day, than onto trying to get into the swing of living and routine better lol

PS: the one that sold for $40 CAD has the same front, spill some, but isn't the one blood whole unit as that's a single disc compilation, and the 2 disc version is the single game. either way, might be a score

As much as I want to take him up on his offer, I can’t bring myself to haul all that home if no one has a use for it. I certainly don’t, and I don’t have any other friends who would. Does anyone here want all that for a reasonable price? I’ll happily drive back and buy it if so.

Haha, not exactly. I only pick up the early ones that have games, DVD-Rom content, or that were never reprinted. There's a couple of snappers with unique content too, like that rare version of The Devil's Advocate.

They're... weird.

The original books were interesting - the concept of people who were not good enough for the Rapture being, ahem, left behind to deal with the fallout was an interesting idea. But man oh man did the story go off the rails fast. I don't consider them propaganda... they're more like someone's LSD induced fanfiction with very loose ties to the bible.

And doesn't everyone here know by now that I collect bad movies? :)

Than he replies he's happy to just ship them to me. I say, that's real nice, get to talking. He says there's 10 - 12 games, and some summer game disc compilation with over 100 games.

I say sure, let me know your etransfer email and I'll be glad to send the shipping and an extra $5 or so for a small treat. Gave the address, said he's in Moncton now, but coming to Ontario next week. I said if you're in Toronto and want a hair cut I got first choice haircutter giftcards lol.

He didn't reply, gave the address. Pretty sure he'll mail it out, but I feel bad for not giving him at least the shipping for it. We'll see

sorry for posting here, and sorry for everyone who looked expecting me to share another deal or what did this guy get again haha

but I had an idea for a pinball machine. One with a digital back. I guess the knobs would have to be in place. But I guess you could add the points and change the background in the digital outlay to keep it interesting. I guess this wouldn't be infinite in one pinball, unless the bolts somehow changes and moved in and out but no one is taking this to space...no idea lol

sorry again haha have a good day

Good deal on both. If WA2 is really nice and you are buying to sell I'd be interested. I have it but could use a condition upgrade.

The Perro Callejero movies are pretty decently reviewed Mexican melodramas from the early 1980s. The movies are easy to find in multipacks, but single releases - especially by that publisher - are very uncommon.

The other movie is a really horrible looking religious CG feature. It's bad. So bad. XD

Purchase. Both seemed priced at greatest hits label. Not really one to sell for profit, and I don't have any interest in either. Seemed like a good deal. Passing for now. It's Half Priced Books.

Also went to the city to find roller blades for me to help teach the kids how to skate. I was pretty decent back in my youth. Cheapest option in stores was $150 for adult size. Most department stores don't carry them. Found a pair at goodwill in really good shape complete with tools (Allen's for changing wheels/bearings) and instructions in a factory baggy. $10. Score! Forgive the potato quality.

I picked up a beat up Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player at one of my usual sources at the Wednesday flea market that sets up near my house. I bought it thinking that I might be able to extract the drive to use it elsewhere, and... the damn thing works perfectly fine. It actually looks and functions a bit -better- than my other HD DVD player.

I paid about 5 bucks for this. I'd call that a win.

Really? I've been using that for years, usually referring to really crappy photos taken by cheap / low quality / MP cell phone cameras. I guess it's just one of those phrases that isn't universal. :)

I wish the garage sales were going better this summer. I've been to two successful ones, both of which I posted (some quality Wii games for $15, an NES with about 13ish games for $30). Most of the sales I've seen posted are 45+ minutes from my house/job, they start and end during my work shift, the seller doesn't communicate what games/prices they've got, etc. I need some good scores already! I nabbed an Atari Lynx with four games for $60 last year, for Pete's sake!

I picked up a couple things on Thursday. I got myself a pink (god awful color) Nintendo DS and just an NES console. My NES like most others blinks all the time so picking this system up untested for just $2 was like buying a scratch ticket. No brainer on that one. Haven't tested it yet, and it probably just needs to be opened up and cleaned. And this DS system seems to work well but I have to test it fully on a more advance game to see if the left and right back buttons. She had $15 on and I offered $10 and she said yes. Probably could have offered less. Also came with one of the Nintendo Dogs games. I still have my original Red DS but the back right button doesn't work and you really need that for GBA rpgs and action/adventure games.

Didn't find much but I found some things that I could use. I really didn't see much and there were a lot less people looking. I'm happy with what I found and if I can I get the NES console to work it was worth it.

I bought a (mostly) sealed copy of Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake PlayStation Portable on eBay for just under $15. I had to negotiate the price down and the seller was Canadian, so I had to use a price calculator liberally. But I was amused by the game’s premise and excited to learn that it was ported from PS3 (a system I don’t own) to PSP with slight enhancements.

VGPC claims a CIB copy is worth $10, and the seal on this is broken, so this might not be a terrific bargain. But I’m looking forward to playing capture the flag with an obese lady anyway.

A few weeks ago, I posted about finding the game.com version of Sonic Jam at a local flea market. The same seller flagged me down today, they had found the console. I bought it for 10 dollars. It rattles and has some cosmetic issues, but it fired right up once I put in new batteries.

For those curious, Sonic Jam claims to contain ports of Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. I tried to play Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 but they were indistinguishable from one another and were basically unplayable. The other game, "Light's out" was also basically unplayable.

Sadly this was missing the stylus so if anyone has an extra game.com stylus, i'm looking.

I’ll definitely play it; I specifically bought this copy because the broken seal basically renders the “new” label moot. Might as well tear it open at that rate. I found a lot of sealed Fat Princess games on eBay and GameTZ, which makes me think people expected it to be a rarer in the future than it ended up being. That might explain it.

Mostly lean at garage sales today but did get a decent Wii lot for $20. One of the wiimotes didn't work but the system is fine and a decent stack of games. Also had some Wii branded media tower. Designed to hold 18 games, holders for wii motes and nun chuks on the top. Neat thing, had not seen it before. Best games value wise are Wii Sports Resort, Wii Sports, DK Jungle Beat and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Here is an ebay listing of the storage tower if anyone is curious what it looks like: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184263674977?hash=item2ae...

As some of you may know, I am friends with a lady who works at a thrift store and she sets aside all the donated video games for me. Well, unbeknownst to me, she is close friends with the lady that puts out the books/media at another thrift store I frequent and apparently I came up in conversation. I went in today to shop and had these waiting for me. She said she would continue to hold any games that come in for me. $50 for all.

Unfortunately it is a smaller thrift store that focuses more on clothes/knick knacks, so I would be surprised if anything else came in the rest of the year.

Today's haul:
[imgt w=2048 h=1536]https://i.imgur.com/dxjTXM0.jpg[/imgt]
Total price: $66. The woman who sold me the $5 Wii and $8 PS2 was very lively and easy to work with, and she frequently gets cheap storage units. She wrote down my name and email so she can share any new gaming finds she gets. Connections like those are rare and awesome!

Not pictured are the two plush toys I got for my nieces and a Wii Balance Board. I have no clue what the Wii Super Sensor on the right is, but she tossed it in for free. Fable III is actually Revenge of the Sith for Xbox. On a side note, the title, "The Last of Us," could also apply to Yoda and Obi-wan at the end of ROTS.

Then I found GameStop selling Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Saurian for $15, $35 less than its asking price on the second-hand market. The rest of their DS game prices are up-to-date, why not that one?

Okay, so thanks to trades with both @Frank and @Lunar, I've managed to get a good chunk of DVD games I needed in the past week:

image

That particular Jimmy Neutron disc was a -massive pain- to find with the artwork. I'd only seen it sold with the DVD one time, and I wasn't able to nab it. I already had the movie but the artwork was basically proof that it was included with the movie. So, I got it, and the disc was extremely trashed but only had like 30 MB of data so I guess I'm keeping it, heh.

And of course a sealed DVD with the demo -and a DVD sampler- went up today. Of course. My damn luck. :P

I still need AnimePlay issue 4, if you know where to find it, hook me up!

The rest of the week was weird. So here's the stuff I found.

image
Evil Dead 4K was found at the Amazon returns store I usually visit on Tuesdays. It was sealed, but the package was completely crushed, so the artwork has damage and the case had to be tossed. The disc was fine so now I just need a replacement 4K BD case and art. :D

Stay Alive (rated) was $1 at the Wednesday neighborhood flea market I go to.

Mr Limpet is a condition upgrade disc, Cries and Whispers is going to ebay with some other DVDs, Blood Red Moon looked stupid, and I Spy Treasure Hunt, well, it was a DVD game. Those were $5. Collateral Damage and Eraser was $1.

I also found that seller who had tons of cheap DVDs a couple of weeks ago, and I nabbed some more movies for reselling on eBay. He also sold me Clerks II, Everything Everywhere on Bluray, and those three Steam game sets for $4 total.

I'm going back tomorrow to talk to a guy who had several boxes full of discs. I would've stayed and check them out but I was already carrying too many movies.

I went back to the flea market yesterday, dug through 12 boxes full of DVDs inside a trailer, and walked away with these:

Two more DVDs for the Platinum Disc Corp collection! The cases are unfortunately trashed. Tomboy is sealed and apparently worth some cash. Zap 21 is also worth quite a bit on ebay. The Sims 3 expansion thing is for Origin so maybe I can get something in exchange for it. Not pictured was a Led Zeppelin DVD for my record store owner buddy's store.

The seller raised the price on me though. Annoyingly. Bleh.

He had a ton of interesting movies and stuff for the DVD game project, but a lot of it was trashed, had water damage, was missing discs, or was foreign. So maybe next week he'll give me a discount. We'll see.

Speaking of snipes my patience was rewarded recently.

image

Had been wanting the Japanese release of Lucky Star for a bit now but the price is pretty gnarly, especially considering what US copies can be had for (and I could argue the US DVDs, which are dirt cheap, are a better experience than the US BD). But anyway I had been wanting it mostly for the art box and ended up winning an auction from Japan for ~$55 after all was said and done.

Garden of Sinners was $140, also a good price for the Limited box in this condition and completeness.

I hit a couple of block sales here in Baltimore over the weekend - I got everything in the pics below for $50 and will hopefully be hooking up with the seller for more games soon. I was excited enough for the DS games, but friends have told me that the real find are the horror themed shirts. I'm planning on using them as raffle prizes for the cult movie night I host, but it's always fun to get an inadvertent good deal. My appraisal skills are largely limited to video games and D&D stuff but sometimes I just bring home stuff that seems neat or useful that ends up being valuable.

A wet weekend here in Baltimore meant that most sales got rained out, but I had some good pick-ups nonetheless. First up is some games I grabbed from a local antique store/junk shop that gives me a buzz whenever they get games in. Picked up everything in the top picture for $35. The bottom picture comes from an indoor flea market that run every few months out of one of the local clubs - Layton and Folkore together were $20.

Got a deal for y'all

Was going to get it. Than he was out of town for a week and a half, than I sent paypal, but since I have a new account, there was a 21 day hold, so he refunded me. I was debating sending as a first time with cross border and on fb, but I was like, is it really that good. I sent about $60 of my bucks, but gave a few extra bucks, and it was to be $35 USD and was going to send $4 or so extra. He's got some feedback, but again, I'm not convinced I need this pack of games to risk it as a first timer. Everything as a first time feels off, lol. Maybe not always

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/25974828...

The games that are worth money are strife and diablo. Those games alone can prob make you $120 - $130 CAD, if not more, or somewhere there if you want to sell fast. He's asking $15 USD for all the games, and there are some fillers I could have prob sold. But my money is tied up to another deal I'm waiting for, and gotta let the person know that there will more than likely be a 3 week hold lol

anyways, sharing one, gonna let it pass me by

Oops, he replied back saying I could send to another email, and he'd wait the 21 days. Says he'll forward shipping label and tracking today after 5pm. Spent a nickel under $60 CAD. Seems like a good deal. I think the price of Strife is overpriced for used if new is at said price, but lots of cool games. If I do get the hook up, which it should be, seems he was fast, forward and a straight shooter, so we'll see.

Good deal. I guess people still everywhere sometimes consider games junk and let them go for less. But as a buyer, you're always trying and sometimes it takes doing new things or spreading your wings further. But I won't trade my hands for wings if you gotta still come back to earth on this so called flying haha, no idea. Take care. Guess it might be my good deal

It took some effort, but I managed to get a boatload of LEGOs for myself and mostly my nieces for a cool $100.

I reached out to the seller who confirmed which sets she was selling and their prices. I know a LEGO bargain when I see one, so I knew I had to get over there and snatch 'em up. The sale was scheduled for Thursday at 9 AM, right when I'm at work. I couldn't reserve it or arrive early, so I had to get a favor from Mom to buy them in my stead. Fortunately, she happened to be free this morning and did that... though she texted me with a mean prank, claiming it had been a hoax sale and that she went home empty-handed. But yeah, here they are!

I'm keeping the Jurassic World one, since I'm a sucker for that movie and this big set contains all four main characters and the antagonistic Indominus Rex. It's a shame so many of the sets are missing a few pieces, but you get what you get with prices like these. I know my nieces' faces will light up when they see them! My bro's family isn't keen on Disney, so I'm not sure what we'll do with the Little Mermaid one... but I'll think of something!

Fixed.

Don't worry, it's cool if it's mostly for you. Lego is awesome. :D

Just kidding around. Nice of you to buy all that for your nieces. Cool uncle status for sure.

I was a big Lego fan as a kid. Still appreciate it. The way the sets are so intricately put together.

Lol. I too was a LEGO kid. I reassembled a few of my old favorites in college, but now 98% of my pieces are in bins in the attic. And yet the LEGOs slowly creep back into my living space! Whatever will I do.

I finally got one of the two holy grail minifigs I've wanted for years: Claire Dearing (sadly not the one with the lavender tanktop, but whatcanyado). Now I just have to luck my way into a Star Wars Pong Krell minifig!

That Star Wars Pong Krell minifigure is pretty cool. 4 arms, 2 double lightsabers. Is it difficult to get?

He only came in one pricey set in 2012, and he’s incredibly unique for a minifigure. Combine that with him being attached to the Star Wars license, and from the best arc of the enormously popular Clone Wars animated series, and you’ve got the makings of an expensive figure. Far as I can tell, he is just that!

Holiday weekends are usually pretty bad for yard sales around here, but a friend tipped me off to one happening near by that had games. Got all this for $15, but unfortunately the Ghibli set is a higher-quality Taiwanese knock-off.

this was a deal I was supposed to get, but after sending some money in a previous deal, I took out the $400 something, figured $100 USD x 2 x exchange rate, about $260, $270, shipping?, either way, I passed, he was getting wed, and it seemed to make sense, but after the last deal, I just said, forget it, would have made 1k on this deal if legit and for real, and that's if spending $400 CAD, if local, hurry, takes paypal, some protection I guess, but I guess since I took out the money today, and he replied hey I can ship, without still getting a shipping quote, I am unsure if all these ads are a little finicky, but prob not, just I need the cash now, the games would sell, but the last deal put me off this one, so that's that...sometimes, it's not in the cards, you can do a lot for money against feeling, but maybe someone here will nab

Truckee, CA

Guess it's strange, but for real, I could use the money now, summer's now, and if this is another letdown, and I have to go to the resolution centre, my money is tied up for all summer...sometimes the risk outweighs just being...guess the $60 deal, I dunno, never sent tracking/confirmation, and disappeared again, the other was the same, maybe the other, with all the friends, it legit, but at this point, I don't even want to list more. Ha ha, got was too lazy. Either way, I dunno, seems legit, but again, would be a real bummer, and I should think positive, but both these deals lasted so long, and my mind goes, is he going to send empty dvd cases with the way he worded it, and show the tracking, and than you got a lot to prove haha...I dunno, but either way, not disappointed, maybe someone will do something better with the money than just smoke it haha
