Well I'll be damned I got one at gamestop. But they're pretty salty because they had 70 in store prebuys and they only got 40 wooden plaques and they've already had five other people come in with online orders that are looking for their plaque. GameStop totally should have shipped them with the pre buys because ultimately people will get screwed here.

@MrBean What's your favorite Tears of the Kingdom item from all the things you bought?

I got mine and my son's copies from Target. I was worried they'd only give me one fanny pack since the fine print technically said 1 "per customer" and it was just me buying both copies, but the guy gave me 2 of them without me even having to ask. A good friend of mine really wanted one and wasn't able to get it. He had already paid $40 on Ebay to get the wooden plaque, so I told him I'd give him my extra fanny pack.

I was able to walk into Gamestop right when they opened at 10 and get my wooden plaque just by showing them my online order confirmation for my CE. It looks pretty nice, can't wait to display it in my game room! I also got the art print from Best Buy, it looks nice as well.

REALLY wish I could have gotten the wall scroll from Walmart though. That was the best pre-order bonus by far, IMO. I was dealing with a bad back injury all through April and was pretty much in a fog the whole time, so I completely missed the notifications when it was available.

@MrBean Glad you were able to get the plaque! You're right, it's really dumb how they handled that.

I kinda wish I had picked up the pro controller. It was just too hard to justify $75 for a controller I'm not even going to use.

Ultimately my favorite item will be the fact that this is a Time to come to grips with the fact that my sister is no longer here as this was one of her favorite things in life. There was an earlier Post in this thread about this topic and I've honestly been dreading playing this game because I know what it's going to do to me, but I think this will be a healthy dose of reality to in my own way connect with her while playing.

My other sister, the younger of the two, has already asked me to be there for her while she plays she lives out of state. They used to collaborate on breath of the wild all the time and she's having a hard time with the fact that this game came out too because of the same situation. We're both having to deal with the fact that we don't have our sister here to enjoy this with. gosh darn it I'm on the road and I'm getting super f** emotional just doing voice to text on this time to bail!

Maybe the main use of the item, even if you don't use it, is to get you excited for it in the first place, get some happiness from it.

That's my take on it. All those things you bought, if it made you happy/excited, then it was worth it.

Got my copy of the game and the fanny pack from Target. Mission accomplished. Still haven't booted the game yet past the "Nintendo presents" screen, but looking forward to it.

Got the gold wall scroll from Walmart. Can’t tell if it’s actually numbered, decent size but pretty useless to me. Sold on Mercari for $60 within a minute of me posting it lol.
The Best Buy art print looks cool

I'm about 5 hours in as well. I second the comment about controls being difficult. I am sure I will get used to them, but early on, I'm finding them a bit frustrating. I feel like things are going a bit slower than expected, but I fully expect this to be a 100+ hour game for me.

GameStop is the worst.

I've recieved 2 of 3 collector editions and 0 of 5 controllers. All others have come through.

I’ve got a standard and collectors from Walmart at my door. The gold Scroll too.

Ok, Fuse... Not expected, and it's awesome.

I'm only missing one ability from the wheel, and I believe I'm attacking one of the "dungeons" when I mistook a landmark for a map tower. My own stupidity. My original plan was to attack towers and shrines before hitting the bosses. I guess we'll give this one a go with 4 hearts while I'm pretty much a 1 shot kill. Really hope there's a fast travel at the entrance.

Does this game let you just go and tackle things in any order you want, even allowing you to skip the game and go right for the end boss from the beginning, the way BotW did?
