By far the best voice acting in any FF to date.

F'ing Best Buy ... Deluxe Edition shipped in a bubbler, and the box is jacked up - and they're sold out, fun.

Any companies that do mail orders really need to start offering a boxed shipping option. I have had to return so many things to Amazon or Deep Discount because they just toss them in the flimsiest mailer they can and ship it out.

On the other hand, it's a rare occasion I have to contact RightStuf's customer service (and they pretty much always ship in a box).

FFXVI is really good so far. I’m already drawn into the story. I prefer the more serious/dark tone, although it’s impossible for me to not laugh when people are riding off to war and giving heroic speeches while riding chocobos.

I do wanna give this game a go pretty bad having seen reviews & reactions, just still need a friggin PS5.

Another FU to GameStop. Their prebuy bonuses have to be claimed in store. Didn't know this until I got an email late today saying my game is delayed. They truly are the worst. I bet they are all gone, just like the TotK stuff. Frustrating.

Gamestop will never get my business again. Still salty about their handling of my TOTK preorder. Not even sure if I ever got the money back for that.

The GameStop employees very obviously were keeping the Diablo pre sell items. I heard one of them ask “how much do you think we can sell them for?”

I just found out that an FFIX remake is real and happening. That gets me pumped.

I friggin need to finish the OG game. I've mentioned it in this thread before, but I played the first 1/4 or so of the game like 50 times (which was enough to solidify it as one of my favorite games of all time for the world building alone), then played like half of it on my OG PSP 1000, and finally made a big ol' dent in it when it released on Switch before taking an extended break and having no idea what I had to do when I returned to it.

XVI story and characters are absolutely fantastic, probably some of the best in the entire series. The more mature and dark theme is a welcome addition. Top notch voice acting really helps the story engagement.

While it (so far) isn't the typical weird and complicated story (yet), there's a surprising amount of depth in the history of the people and land that comes through really well in the little snippets of interactive reading through each section (accessible elsewhere as well). Even though it's easily accessible, I do find myself getting some of the background and families mixed up. Has a bit of a Game of Thrones like feel to it. I just keep smiling and noding, hoping it'll click soon, haha.

The fast pace is fun and all, but honestly... Not digging the linear elements nor the action fighting. It's an evolution of XV and all, but I want more turn base or something even closer to X/XII. Just finding that the button mashing is getting a bit old.

Still, it's a damn good game overall (so far)! It absolutely feels like it's going to get continually better and better.

I will say this has had my second favorite summon moment, next to IX. Hell of a scene/gameplay early on, just had my second and WOW so amazing!

Probably one of the better evolutions of summons, at least in modern installments.

is a sentence I never thought I'd hear. Even in a Final Fantasy game.

Also, I agree with the earlier sentiment about Cid. He's an awesome, grisly voice in need of a more interesting character model.

So I beat the demo. Pretty cool so far. Definitely way better than the demo I played for XV.

I haven’t heard an overly negative opinion on this. Got to find time to spend 200 hrs on it.

I haven't seen a single performance issue.

The big battle before the title card had my PS5 wheezing, but not bad enough to ruin the experience.

Going to take my time on this game. I am finding it enjoyable though the early side quests aren't great they do get better. I found it odd that some dialogue has no audio but that isn't a major issue and enjoy the inclusion of a library since I didn't get some concepts from the demo as much not that it is important. Combat is proving a bit odd to me square and triangle for magic bursts and lunge while using high DPS cooldown specials seem to be the strategy. Using the dog in combat seems difficult though as I am finding myself just spamming the same directional arrow unless my HP tanks for cure. I know there are timely rings but those seem overpowered.

The dog timely ring is fair game and just avoids another finger smashing session. The combat is fun and all, but I wasn't wanting Devil May Cry. I wouldn't pick this style of combat over others but it's what we got.

We need to accept in our hearts that mainstream big-bucks turn-based games are a thing of the past.

Nice to see a main FF game getting all those positive comments. XIII and XV are infamous for all the hate.

Thankfully the game does get a bit less linear.

I'm legitimately impressed with this one and absolutely enjoying it.
