Ghosts was good, but overall it definitely had some ubisoft feel to it for sure. Lots of redundant shiny chasing. Still, the story and combat was fun (albeit a bit easy). Don't regret my time with it, nor getting Plat.

I don't understand why collecting materials is so tedious in Tsushima. None of the accessibility options allow you to make them more visible, and you have to scour every inch of every camp (including roofs and crawl spaces) to hopefully find everything. I could live with that if the stuff that I can't pick up didn't also glow. It makes you much more likely to pass over something you can pick up because you've walked by four of five things that you can't. If the crafting aspect of games could die a permanent death I would be very happy.

Now that I don't get. Other than the "open world", Ubisoft devs were actually crapting on how awful it was that it WASN'T an Ubisoft game, it basically craps you onto the map and says "fudge off, go rub some sticks or something". The few arrows it has were crap, it was basically piss in the wind

If it has a map and a collectible it’s Ubisoft.

I think this is a game I would have enjoyed or at least given a chance had the Ubi formula in AssCreed Valhalla not completely broken me. I just can't do their games anymore. Booted Immortals up and it's literally just an AssCreed reskin that's so obviously inspired by Breath of the Wild. I've heard good things and I'm sure it all comes together nicely, but it's about as unoriginal as it gets. I've reached a point where all modern Ubisoft games are an easy pass.

Story and combat save this game. Both are so damn good! The open world is so bad, though. It's Sucker Punch's achilles heel. It's awful in Second Son and it's awful here too. It's just so repetitive and formulaic. It's everything I hate about modern open world game design.

Immortals was solid indeed. And yeah Ghosts to me felt like what a sharpened and fully fleshed out AC game would have been like in a Japanese setting. No microtransactions nonsense just a good tale and a sense for adventure.

My favorite ubi games are black flag and origins. Love the setting in both. The upcoming Avatar will probably be the third.

Oh man, the new system update allows you to turn off that dang annoying beep when you first turn on the console. It adds other features too, but that's the one I'm most glad about for now. I wish they would have given that option on PS3 and PS4 as well, but it wasn't nearly as loud on those anyway.

Sony is also improving its expandable M.2 SSD storage support to an 8TB limit on drives. You’ll still need an M.2 SSD that meets the minimum requirements, but there are now more options for PS5 owners who want a lot more storage.

Lol. Of course they up it to 8TB when I just installed a 4TB hard drive in mine =). Oh well. It's probably fine. I just like to have my whole PSVR2 library available at the same time. That second controller as assist thing is really neat. I'll have to try that with my kids.

Why in the holy hell would you ever need more than 1tb? Sure maybe in a handful of years when games are 500gb, but not now. No reason to keep 20+ games installed at all times.

I’ve just been transferring games I don’t play to my 2TB external HDD for now but yeah I only keep about 10 games installed at once now. Still would like the fast transfer rates on an SSD in the event I ever wanna replay a game from my external which takes about 10-15 min on average to transfer now whereas from the internal SSD takes like 1-2 min if that on average to transfer.

Starting with the PS4 1 TB is was too small. Its really annoying to have to constantly uninstall games to play another. If I am pretty sure I'll never play the game again I'll delete it after I finish, but anything else I like to keep installed. With a 1 TB drive you are lucky to have Destiny 2, Rocket League and COD installed at the same time. Those are games you would play on a regular basis and are really big downloads. It would be silly to delete them every time I wanted to play something different.

250GB was great on PS3 as games weren't that big.

I play FFXIV, destiny 2, ESO, lots of big installs. I like as much space as I can get.

The only time I've had issues with HDD space on the PS5 or XSX was when I installed some insanely giant game like COD:MW2 (which was like 250GB). I always have some 100GB things that I'm not actively playing but also didn't want to re-DL again so I try not to delete them. Having a 500GB external SSD (<$40) for both systems has worked just fine to store those kind of large installs I'm not currently playing.

I'm also someone who deletes games when I won't come back to it for 6m-1y. I don't want to dig through an install library, I usually focus on just a handful of things at a time so disk space hasn't been a real issue for me this gen.

I don't know how people are actively playing 1GB+ of games at the same time.

I have 133 digital games on my PS3 Slim, plus whatever update/dlc and save data goes along with them. I think it's a 320gb system and I have about 100gb free still.

The biggest difference of course is that disc games on PS3 still mostly ran from the disc instead of installing everything to the hard drive and just using the disc as a drm key.

A ransomware group claims it has breached all of Sony's systems and is looking to sell the data it stole. Just to be safe I removed any saved payment info on my account.

I haven't had payment info with Sony since the massive PS3 breach all those years ago. They lost that privilege.

Unfortunately removing it now doesn't really do you any good if that is what they stole. The breach already happened, they already copied the data. Meaning if that is the info they got, they still have it. The only hope now if that is the info they took, is that Sony is actually was using encryption this time. Because back in 2011 they were not.

I'd recommend turning on 2fa as well if you don't have it already. Its annoying, but you get a text anytime someone tries to access your account.

I have 2FA enabled, I'm going to change my password as well just in case. I don't even know how long I've had my payment info saved to the account because I don't normally do that, but it must have only been for the past 6-9 months or so when I realized it is so much easier to just buy games directly through the PlayStation App without even needing to use the console at all. I really wish Nintendo would allow that with their Switch app, because right now their app serves no real purpose.

Most likely they have credentials, not payment information. So I would suggest changing passwords, removing payment info and enabling 2FA

I'm thinking those ransomware dudes were bluffing. Sony hasn't responded at all, not even to take PSN servers offline which is what anyone would do the minute they realize they've been breached to stop the attackers from getting more data than they have. It would be nice if they just debunked it officially though.

Anyway, Saints Row: A Song of Ice & Dust DLC is on sale for $7.24 but when I go to its PlayStation Store page listing to purchase it, it says "You already own another edition.", though it still lets me add it to my cart. I have bought the two other DLC expansions for this game previously, but I hadn't bought this particular DLC yet, so why would it say that?

Mayb they hacked into a honeypot server that Sony set up as a red herring, and in all the patting themselves on the back they didn't notice they had stolen nothing of value.
