I’m suspicious because the if / then- subordinate clause of a conditional sentence usually begins with the conjunction “if.” This is often paired with a “then”

Two months ago I received a notice from Microsoft that someone had tried to access my Live account from somewhere in Germany. When I logged in and looked at my history, it showed there were multiple attempts to log in from other countries and even one location in the US.

Good info. I need to log in and check that out. I don’t use MS account for anything so it’s basically just sitting there for years.

Same, i got a notification 2 weeks ago someone tried logging in and needed my code to pass authentication. Logged on and looked at login attempt history and EVERYDAY for a month straight multiple ip's trying to log in from countries no where close to me. Changed password and deactivated all logged in devices except my phone. Best i can do.

I've been seeing and hearing folks I know getting a lot more login and phishing attempts over the past month. I wish these companies would let us restrict where we can log in from, but I guess it's too much trouble.

On that note, I used to block all attempts to log onto my site's backend from anywhere other than a particular IP range and I still got people trying to brute force their way in...

I had this happen a couple months ago. I changed my password and added 2FA. A day or two ago I got a similar e-mail from Spotify that someone was trying to reset my password, so I tried to add 2FA only to find out Spotify doesn't support it unless you have an Artist account. Not supporting 2FA is a guaranteed way of making sure I'll never link a payment method to my account on your service.
