Has anyone been there/stayed in the hotel??
My wife wants to take our kids (9F/12M) for 2 nights but it is absurdly expensive and for all the reviews I read online there are a lot of negatives (bad food, broken rides, extremely overpriced).. Has anyone gone in the past few months can comment on their experience... My kids love Legos but reading all the stuff online I can't say I don't want to piss the $$$ away..
Thanks
Scott

I've been to LegoLand in FL. Never stayed at the hotel, just went to the park several times, and it was great. Much less crowded than most theme parks, and great rides for younger kids.

Can't comment on the one in NY, but I've been to the one in San Diego 4 times in the last 12 months. Great for little kids IMO, probably not as fun for older kids (the one's your age). Disney World, Universal Studios or a Six Flags makes a lot more sense for them.

We've stayed in the hotel a few nights on 2 of the trips. Definitely can be pricey depending on when you go ($250-$400 a night). Breakfast is included. Food in the park is passable with some places being way better than others.

We bought an annual pass for 3 of us (+1 toddler who was under 3). Cost was $270 a person. Made it worth it since we went 4 times, multiple days each trip, 20% off food, 10% off merchandise, discounted hotel, free parking, access to both the park and the water park inside.

We live an hour away from the San Diego one, and it's a fantastic park for younger kids. When my son was between 6-9 years old it was a perfect amusement park for him, and he liked it more than Disneyland. No rides are surprising, you know what you're getting into unlike some of the Dland dark rides that he didn't like.

We didn't stay at the hotel since we're close enough but for families with kids < 12 years old it's a really fun place that I would highly recommend. No issues with rides broken down ever for us and we got season passes when he was younger and always had a good time.

I might go there this year, but I also live 45 minutes or so away.

@Lunar has been as well but he lives in driving distance too
